Midst is an audio drama in which three mischievous narrators spin a surreal, reality-bending, sci-fantasy, space western about a crotchety outlaw, a struggling cultist, and a diabolical bastard making awful decisions in a world on the edge of disaster.

First of all, amazing design by the artist there of the submarine.
Secondly, Phineas is still clearly half brainwashed, the poor guy isn't even getting a chance to try to think for himself before someone else does.

I mean, it is, like, 4 in the morning. It’s a breakfast steak. She seems like the kind of person to have breakfast steaks - I mean, we just saw her eating one, so it’s safe to assume.
I'd find drinking steak with her coffee even more disturbing.

I loved the introduction of the new character in this episode. In a funny way, she makes me think of Edna Mode from the Incredibles.

Same, I bounced off hard some of their other side content (Candela, Exandria Unlimited, etc) but this is the the one other thing I click on every week besides the main campaign
It always feels like 10mins then I see it’s almost 25
This series continues to be so freaking cool! Please let there be a season 3 even though the views are low! I love the story, love the characters, but I think the sound design is my favourite thing about this series, especially in this episode.
There is a season 3! I don't know when it'll come out but the first two seasons were already out when CR picked it up, they basically hired them to produce the 3rd and final season (and remastered and re-release the other two)

@@alli-gator-forest it was confirmed that for a while. It’s still very possible that critical role will support other stories that third person plans to tell. But midst will end with season 3.
That theme for Kozma is insanely atmospheric and strong, and I cant wait for it's release!!!

Well… that was a very long and interesting development. I wonder what Lark… senses. I already want to know what happens next. I’m sure it will be quite interesting and exciting.

Finally!!!! I've been waiting on the edge of my seat for the continuation of this storyline

Okay, I got a VERY bad feeling that the Trust is going to ambush them all once they reach Midst, probably lead by Imelda and whatever monster is coming later. As for Baron Lazlo, I think it is safe to say shes no friend to the Trust, but I wouldnt be surprised if she hands over Phineas to them. Although I think that it would depend on whether shes responsible for the moon blowing up. Lastly,and this is just a tinfoil hat from episodes ago, but if the Fold is some kind of hive mind thats connected to whoever changes from it, I bet the Fold woudnt have the highest opinion of the Trust, since most of them would either be 'fold-touched' (which the Un have some prejudice over) or 'in breach' (self explained). Makes me wonder if someone is gonna start speaking for the Fold later.
Well that baron is quite something, and I cant wait to see what they will experience in what Im sure will be a smooth and uneventful trip.
Thanks once again. I love the way you introduce new characters. Describing them in different levels and using situations that immediately show what kind of person they are, their personalities. It’s amazing.

First time listening to this as it comes out, rather than catching up to it, and man it's gonna be a hard few weeks waiting for more on the Phineas/Tzila/Lark situation.
Kozma's theme is absolutely incredible. A good ally perhaps but I think I'd rather cross Sauron from lord of the rings than cross Kozma. I see the picture of where Moc Weepe sees himself in 5 years time, although we haven't heard from Weepe since... the incident.

while I love the sound effects backing up the narrators, there are spots where it overwhelms the person(s) speaking a bit, particularly the metal sound for the submarine.

I can't stop laughing at this. Because Kozma Laszlo is a completely valid name in Hungarian. We write family name first and given name after. And Laszlo is a dude's name.
So... I can't stop thinking about that. And never expected it belonging to a chick up until this point.
yeah, I'm also laughing and am confused at the same time that they use Kozma as a given name :D
When the name first occurred in Midst I looked it up, because it sounded familiar, and turns out there was a renowned electrical engineer with this name in the first half of the 20th century. He is famous for the design of the first Hungarian digital computer, as well as developing automatization for telephone systems.
Due to the audio design heaviness of this series, I find it possible the Narrators knew his name, and wanted to use it (possibly as homage). But maybe that.'s farfetched.

You can see a clock in Lazlos office, with a normal face and a separate face that's blank, two of them meet each other like one of those difference/similarity graphs you would see in elementary school.

I never stopped to think about "Who did the Trust buy Midst from?"
Even with the image in front of me, I just kept picturing the Foldmersible as the Nautilus from Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in my mind.
Ill admit the bass is layed on a little heavy in the mix for something where im trying to concentrate on the words, but Kozma's theme is really awesome.
So f'n cool!
Lark started off with being the character I found the most likeable and is ending up being the one that I seem to like the least. She is heavy on the hypocritical side. She sure has a lot of attitude and opinions on people hurting other people for perceiving wrongdoings after doing the same thing, worse.

I love that Lazlo is not who I thought them to be. I thought she would be a hedonist and more villainous based on the description of her ship and the grandiosity of their arrival. This is far more interesting
