I tingle watching this. In 1978 there was an Aston Martin silver with red interior for sale for 10K at Monte Sheldon’s British Motor Cars. I bought a Scirrocco.
The sound you get from a straight six, either German or British - but I’ll favour British, because that’s what I am - from the 50s and 60s just sound so sweet. The little burbling over-runs off throttle, delightful.
Omg this is why I love your channel so much, the diversity of content. Ultra rare Italian cars, supercars, EVs, Unimog, van etc. The color combination is so beautiful! As I am Italian I'm proud to see that the body of this fantastic car was designed and made by Italian factory "Touring Superleggera" and a bit of Italian style is quite visible.
@@BroadReachComms1 : the car was designed in Italy and the body parts were also made in Milan by Touring Superleggera. In England they were assembled, in the new factory in Newport Pagnell.
@@GrandeCapo_PallaPesanteMy apologies, the DB4 was the first of the new DB series made in Newport Pagnell. Touring produced the body tooling for the panels, but the pressings for the aluminium wings, doors etc were made by a company called Dowty Bouton Paul in Wolverhampton in the UK, who made body panels for quite a few high-end cars. The platform chassis was made in Huddersfield by the David Brown Corporation.
@@BroadReachComms1 : well. However as far as i know the DB4 series were only assembled in England, while the workmanship you described concerned the next series, the DB5, whose bodywork was built in England in the way you describe under Touring license. @@GrandeCapo_PallaPesante Yes you are correct, the Bond car was a DB5, introduced in Sept 1963 at the Frankfurt Motor Show and by then, was almost entirely indistinguishable from a series 5 DB4 from the outside, apart from the DB5 badge at the base of the front wing. There were internal changes, and of course the engine size was increased from 3.7litre to 4.0litre and the DB5 retained the triple SU's of the Vantage-engined DB4 that it replaced.
