    So basically Kopi Joss or Coffee Joss named because it makes Sound Joss when you added charcoal in it, the philosophy behind that is because jogja was a region surrounded by volcanoes and when erupted those volcanoes brings jogja people benefits of land become fertile, so hopefully Kopi Joss also can brings people some prosperity and good benefits, then benefits of kopi joss is since charcoal can absorbs the caffeine so it's like being decaffeinated by those charcoal and actually those are not regular charcoal, it's special charcoal comes from mango tree or guava tree woods. I'm basically a Barista's and learned all Local indonesian coffee menu and put them also as my regular menu in my coffee shops. Hopefully this can answer your questions about coffee joss

    The tradition of drinking coffee with charcoal is more about the cultural aspect and the unique taste experience rather than proven health benefits. But still, it's one of the cool, unique coffee traditions in Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta.

      It was definitely something new. But no local could answer me why they do it. They said they do it because it's been done like this since forever ago 😄

    The coffee needs to have sugar to make a difference, charcoal caramelizes the sugar to get a molasses taste. Its also good for digestion and for detoxification

    • @SimsimsamTravels
      @SimsimsamTravels  20 дней назад

      I bet it would make a difference in taste if the sugar caramelises

    You are lazy to learn Indonesian but prefer to learn Filipino where the people are more accustomed to English than Indonesians... even though Indonesian is one of the 15 largest languages in the world and has been designated as an Official Language by UNESCO.
    Why?? Maybe it is because you don't really like Indonesia??😂

      Oh give him a break. The amount of speakers doesn't matter to a language learner. 570 million people speak Hindi but 99% of foreigners who go to India don't learn it. Don't bash him because he learned some Tagalog but not Indonesian. It is his preoperative regarding what language/s he wants to learn. And here in the PH, a lot of people don't usually converse in English anyway.

    • @SimsimsamTravels
      @SimsimsamTravels  20 дней назад +1

      Well, I wanted to learn more, but couldn't get myself to. Filipinos speaking english makes it easier to learn Tagalog or Bisaya, as they will translate and explain on the spot. But saying I learned the language is a bit far-fetched, it was only a few words

      @@SimsimsamTravels True I’ve seen some of your blogs in Indonesia. You still need to use ur phone to translate it. Must be hard lol. Kudos to your friend who speaks well in English, easier for you to communicate with them. Did she study there? Hehe I wonder why she speaks so fluently and others can’t; even the teachers don’t speak English in your blog.
