You are litrally my go to person for languages. I mean I come to your channel, spend a whole day contemplating what you do in one hour, and then spend the rest of the week practicing, and I'm litrally done with a language! Thank You! :D
Your videos are absolutely perfect for someone like me who is trying to refresh their memory on stuff they've already learned, plus learn some stuff they didn't know. You're one of my top 3 youtube tutorial channels.
I'm an advanced developer who hasn't done web development for years. This was a perfect refresher video. Its hard to find tutorials for advanced users. Just the meat none of the hand holding - loved it.
Great run through tutorial for someone with some programming experience. It went quickly and didn't spend so much time trying to relate the very basics. Even if you don't have that knowledge, it quickly shows you what's possible and you can start learning more from here.
Hi there Derek. I am Francis and a long time viewer of yours. You are an insperation to us all and the online education system. Seriously, Everyone can learn to write code using your videos. Happy Holiday's and have a great New Year!!!! Peace:)
I'll be honest - as a beginner, with almost no experience whatsoever, this was really hard to follow.. I learned a lot but I also realized this was not the best video to start off with (so anyone reading this, maybe come back to this one if you're intermediate level or have already covered the basics).
well... i think that if you have a decent amount of expirience with programming as a hole this shouldnt be too hard to follow but this is like your first or second language its a lot harder
I definitely see where you are coming from being a beginner and all, but for anybody who considers themselves about an intermediate level or so this is a godsend as a reference especially with his cheat sheets. If you are JUST interested in HTML5 then I recommend checking out thenewboston, but if you are a beginner and want to learn programming, I still say check out that channel and choose either his C++ or Java videos. Doesn't matter which, but Java tends to be less nuanced and easier to learn imo.
redeem5 I watched XHTML, CSS and JavaScript on thenewboston, it was a great help, but I began learning HTML5 there and it seems outdated. Anything for the beginners, but more recent?
i'm from INDIA and i can say that "u r the only person makes tutorial in a single video SIMPLE & UNDERSTANDABLE" you are AweSomE sir.......... thank you
It's 2020. This is still relevant, but is for people with basic understanding of HTML, CSS & JavaScript. Get familiar with those & come back & watch this. It's perfect, because he shows how it all comes together! Great job Mr. Banas!!
Thank you for being there Derek Banas. I have followed your tutorials for the design patterns, Java and now HTML5. I am seriously loving all of these. Love how you keep straight and up to the point. You are much much better than the some of the university professors out there. I wish I will buy you a coffee someday :)
Tons of great information. I'm an old dog trying to learn some new tricks 20 years later than my friends but these tutorials help out a lot. You go pretty fast for me on some things. Luckily I can pause and I'm not in a classroom where you would be going too fast for me but this is a "learn in an hour video" so you have to go a little fast. I mostly just pause whenever I see something really cool that I want to make sure I don't miss. The cheat sheet is nice too because it shows all the stuff you tried in here. EXCELLENT work. Thank you for helping out everyone.
This video is really everything. Just to mention, in your cheat sheet, in the randomchangecolor.js you write "img.style.visibility !== "visible";" with a double equation symbol.
Merry Christmas Derek. I'm having a great time with these tutorials of yours. CSS3 and now HTML5 in less than 2.5 hours time..awesome! I can't wait to get to implement these codes to create something very cool and of course, something useful too me. Library Computer Access/Retrieval System or (LCARS) for short..this is from the ships computer from Star Trek. I am creating one to suit me in my daily endeavors. Thanks Again..Happy Holidays.
I stumbled on your videos through a friends' share... and yes I did watch the whole video. Having read an e-book earlier, I found your video particularly useful... one thing is for sure..if I ever wanna brush up for an interview, your videos indeed are the perfect source for last-minute revision
hey man ive been following your channel for about 4 years now and its been a pleasure. I learned java from you. I also learned html4 a long time ago and had to learned whats new in html5 for a new project. your video is perfect as always. I never have to question myself if there is a different tag for anything cause you just go through everything. Thanks!
+Derek Banas Hi Derek I just wanted to ask if you know why when i type to make it easier for programs to translate it to danish Then i type danish in Hej (Thats danish) and it dosen't translate Also i use brackets if it does any effect :) I really need help
I just finished watching the entire Ruby, Bootstrap, and Html5 video. My brain is fried... Great source of information though! I'm glad I found this channel.
I thought I knew HTML pretty well and came here to refresh my memory, but this is mind-blowing! There are so many small things you can do to really demonstrate your flair with the language that I had no idea even existed. I'll have to chew on this video a few more times before I completely grasp most of it. Many thanks for the excellent content.
not only that is the best HTML tutorial, it has ALL advanced little thing that really make that difference between a newbie and a pro-fee coder. I like to see more of your videos and tutorials, cause you are good at this thing. Good luck and have fun!
These videos are great! Usually when I watch tutorials I have to speed them up, but in this channel everything is just great. And in this video I finally see the connection between css, javascript ,php and html. Thank you, Derek!
Thank you..its May, but, thank you anyway. Today was "THE 100-TH RUNNING OF THE INDIANAPOLS 500" I have been watching this race for 30 years..UNREAL!!!!
Well, not exactly. I needed a refresher and I sat and just watched this without taking notes. I'm definitely refreshed! It's densely packed with the necessary data and not much else. Light incorporation of javascript was helpful to explain their relationship. As a designer, I'm not as interested in writing whole pages in lines of code, but knowing its basic structuring is essential to altering the work of developers who've created the apps & implementing them into the page. Looking forward to the css & javascript videos. Cheers!
Thank you for explaining how it helped. I appreciate that :) Here are the other tutorials CSS3 : ruclips.net/video/CUxH_rWSI1k/видео.html JavaScript : ruclips.net/video/fju9ii8YsGs/видео.html Object Oriented JavaScript : ruclips.net/video/O8wwnhdkPE4/видео.html
Thank you so much Derek. Your videos offer a fine ground to build onto instead of going through +10-hour courses. I believe this is awesome when somebody just wanna achieve something quickly. Please keep doing what you are doing!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the effort put in this video. Also, thank you for the timestamps you provided in the description, haven't used it (0-100ed video), but I do appreciate people who go that extra effort in longer videos :) Cheers
Good job and thank you. You are a great guy who explains stuff clearly without mumbling unnecessary information. Also the video pace won't let us be lazy and dream around for sure which I really do like!
Hi Derek. You asked if anyone watched the whole way through........ yep...... I did! Very useful to see visual results of what HTML5 is capable of. Thank you.
Extremely good video. It is 100 miles an hour.... but covered everything that needs to be known in HTML 5. It is a very good video to get HTML initial understanding. Thanks for such a good information.
What could anyone say but thank you a septillion times over for summing up the the evolution of html the past 20 years in roughly an hour. Excellent Reference for me now. I guess you used tech to take out your pause, but it was just superb however you accomplished it. Thank you!
I've watched a few of your "all in one tutorials" and found them very revealing about how much I know. These videos are a great way to assess, how long it would take me to learn the particular language, or content of the subject, in the tutorial. After watching your learn Java in 30 minutes tutorial, I decided it would be very feasible, timewise, to complete your video Java tutorial, after seeing how similar it was to C#, which I also learned from watching your tutorials. Thank to you, even though I may not be a master of any language, I'm becoming a Jack of all trades, and hopefully be a master of one, in the future.
I'm very happy to hear that you have found the videos useful! Check out my learn to program series. It gets more into problem solving. I also have videos on UML, design patters, object oriented design, refactoring, etc. that will make you a more complete programmer.
I am so glad I found this video. Your delivery is easy to follow. Your examples are great for reference. Thanks for making a potentially confusing subject easy to follow.
i actually have couple of months of experiences with html already but im watching this to polish my skills to perfection because i haven't put much effort the whole time in school. its the march holidays right now :P
Thanks Derek for another amazing presentation. Not only did I watch the entire video but it looked like the entire video lasted less than an hour. Well done.
I am from Pakistan. I like the way You manage to make a complete tutorial in a single video . Very helpful for me Please keep making videos like this. ThankYou!
Dude u are amasing i kinda steped into development 1year ago and im studying basics of everything and i cant believe how much stuff u covered in html tutorial. This video helps me/us to understand what I need to know to become developer someday.Your css 3 tutorial is great also. thanks for sharing knowledge.

thanks a lot sir... coz of u i learnt the features of HTML 5 within a span of 2 hours...your way of teaching is awesome.. you are mixing so many concept under a single example so that we can understand easily... keep on the good work... kindly upload as many tutorials for languages as much as you can...i am really thankful to you.. you blew up my mind... once again thanks a lot sir....
I on the other hand do have some programming experience. I love it ... it's fast-paced and that is what I like ... I hate these long \ streched out videos. This video just get's to the point. A lot of valuable information.
I don't know if this is the correct place to ask, but I am using the datalist in html5. It shows a list of all the companies and when I select that, I need it to populate 3 other fields based on the selection in the input list. Do you already have a video on datalists specifically?
it's amazing how "every single second" of your tutorial videos is informative and has something to say. thanks a lot for valuing viewers time and producing high quality content
Thank you so much Derek for creating this tutorial video. I watched the entire video over my weekend and it helped me update and understand my knowledge and skills for HTML5
Hi Mr Derek, your teaching videos are very professional and helpful and I am trying to get as much as I can by your videos. I really appreciate your work and experience for new learners like me... hope to see more videos of yours. one thing I have diificulty is ,maybe because of me, I sometimes can't catch all at once while you teach. !!!All the best in your job.
Thank you for the nice compliment :) Don't expect yourself to be able to remember everything in one viewing. Take your time and pause your way through the video and practice. That way you'll remember more information
I read somewhere that the will be permanently taken out soon and it explained that people should only use in HTML5 for making text bold. as some agency thats incharge of making HTML5 will no longer support the old bold
This is awesome! I watched the whole video, I came in with very little knowledge and now I know a whole bunch. I will have to watch this again and try out some of these tips and tricks!!!
I enjoyed watching this video. I know some programming (beginner level) but this has opened up doors to what other functions HTML and JavaScript can do. Thanks for the video! One question. What would you recommend when starting a new task? Where should I start?
Between Derek, Alex (phpacademy) and Bucky at thenewboston. I have learned everything I need to know to design a decent website. Now it's just about getting in some practice and creating a portfolio! Thanks Derek!
Derek, I absolutely love all your videos. They are very straightforward - while detailed and informative and also provide a lot of coverage on the material. Keep them up! :)
Amazing! Great way of learning. Watched the whole video two times. And prolly will watch it again to make sure I didn't miss anything. Big thanks for this upload and your time man!
Hi Derek just finished up wathing the full php tutorial , my question is . Did HTML change enough since 2014 to not be able to use it now in 2022 :D . And btw thank you for your video derek much love from Bosnia and Herzegovina , and your interaction with viewers in commnets!
That's great! Thank you for taking the time to tell me it helped. HTML and CSS have not changed mush aside from what I covered with Canvas using JavaScript. I have a multipart project based JavaScript tutorial that will fill in the missing information and it also touches on things like Bootstrap which is very useful for making responsive sites ruclips.net/video/IyDVvGmzTlo/видео.html
Finished watching the entire video. It is a wonderful work, and really saves me a lot of time in learning. New to this. Understood what you presented, but need practice to be familiar. Ready to watch your CCS3 and Javascript videos. Thank you for doing such a thorough job. (Not easy for true beginners though.)
Cool, I didn't know about the main-tag and the image map. There is a thing that bothers me a little - it's when u don't close all tags like or your s :/
dasten123 There is a bit of confusion between the differences with html5 and xhtml. Xhtml as you said uses while the html5 spec leans towards simply . Either way wouldn't pass as valid xml without an opening and closing bracket.
Derek Banas well since it's ok to close all tags, in my personal preference you should do it always because consistency is good. But I didn't know it isn't valid xml, that's surprising :o
Thanks a lot Derek..! Your videos are like guide to what actually could be done once you get the hang of php,html5,jscript etc..But really fun to watch your tutorials. Thanks again

Then i type danish in Hej (Thats danish) and it dosen't translate
Also i use brackets if it does any effect :)
I really need help
Nnoooonooon i made the website English but i used the thing that makes in to translate into Danish :3

i hope you guys learn to propper coding just like i have to learn propper English.
Excellent and concise. As a server-side dev needing to get up to speed with what the front-end folks are up to, this was great for me. Thanks!
+Wayne Izatt Thank you :)
I feel as though I'd hardly studied HTML5 before watching this.
I did my best to cover everything
You do tremendous work.
These videos are great! Usually when I watch tutorials I have to speed them up, but in this channel everything is just great. And in this video I finally see the connection between css, javascript ,php and html. Thank you, Derek!

Hello internet world.
Today Is My Birthday And I'm Spending Some Of It Studying HTML5 And CSS3.
:) Peace
+Francis Lambert Happy Birthday :)
Thank you..its May, but, thank you anyway.
Today was "THE 100-TH RUNNING OF THE INDIANAPOLS 500"
I have been watching this race for 30 years..UNREAL!!!!
You posted this video two days before I started my HTML class. You are a godsend, as always.
And yes, I did watch the whole thing. :)
Christopher Pilcher That's funny :) I'm glad I could help. Best of luck in your class.
NOT an HTML5 tutorial. This is merely an beginner's html tuturial
Well, not exactly. Granted the "HTML5" label is used as an umbrella for the combination of html5/css3/javascript, what is being shown here is mainly the html part, including tags and syntax that are solely provided by the HTML5 standard. So strictly speaking it is html5, just not what people often mean when they say "HTML5".
I've never seen 'HTML5' used to refer to anything but the html mark-up language.
Controversy Owl here's an example: twitter.com/Monotype/status/766726912567681024
rphunt2002
I don't see where they say that 'HTML5' is Javascript, HTML and CSS, if that's what you are saying.
They just don't mention CSS and JavaScript.
+rphunt2002 You're an idiot. DHTML refers to CSS, JS, and a document markup language (like HTML). HTML5 is just the ML, not the scripting or CSS.
I appreciate that :) Here are the other tutorials
CSS3 : ruclips.net/video/CUxH_rWSI1k/видео.html
JavaScript : ruclips.net/video/fju9ii8YsGs/видео.html
Object Oriented JavaScript : ruclips.net/video/O8wwnhdkPE4/видео.html
Thank you so much Derek. Your videos offer a fine ground to build onto instead of going through +10-hour courses. I believe this is awesome when somebody just wanna achieve something quickly. Please keep doing what you are doing!
Major O You're very welcome :) I'm very happy that I could help
As an experienced web developer, I like how fast you go. Good luck
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the effort put in this video. Also, thank you for the timestamps you provided in the description, haven't used it (0-100ed video), but I do appreciate people who go that extra effort in longer videos :) Cheers
You're very welcome :) I'm happy the timestamps helped.
Good job and thank you. You are a great guy who explains stuff clearly without mumbling unnecessary information. Also the video pace won't let us be lazy and dream around for sure which I really do like!
Thank you for the nice compliment :) I'm happy I could help
Hi Derek. You asked if anyone watched the whole way through........ yep...... I did! Very useful to see visual results of what HTML5 is capable of. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to tell me :)
Extremely good video. It is 100 miles an hour.... but covered everything that needs to be known in HTML 5. It is a very good video to get HTML initial understanding. Thanks for such a good information.
+Satyen Kasturi Thank you for the nice compliment :) You're very welcome
You are my favorite tutor as well. Undoubtedly. Cheers from India.
Thank you :) I'm happy I can be of help
What could anyone say but thank you a septillion times over for summing up the the evolution of html the past 20 years in roughly an hour. Excellent Reference for me now. I guess you used tech to take out your pause, but it was just superb however you accomplished it. Thank you!
Thank you for the nice compliments :) I'm happy I could help
@@derekbanas I most likely will, thanx
Got through the entire video! Thank you for the high-quality instruction.
You're a savior, Derek. Love your work my man.
+Hugh Jass Thank you :) I'm glad it helped.
I am so glad I found this video. Your delivery is easy to follow. Your examples are great for reference. Thanks for making a potentially confusing subject easy to follow.
Thank you :) I'm happy you liked it
Derek Banas your tutorials are, as always, amazing. Just what it says on the box! Thumbs up!
i actually have couple of months of experiences with html already but im watching this to polish my skills to perfection because i haven't put much effort the whole time in school. its the march holidays right now :P
Just saw your C++ video, which was amazing. I really want to learn both HTML (and everything around it) and C++, so this is godly to me!
The Jackpot Thank you :) I'm glad you like them. I'll make videos like this for every language soon.
Thanks Derek for another amazing presentation. Not only did I watch the entire video but it looked like the entire video lasted less than an hour. Well done.

I on the other hand do have some programming experience. I love it ... it's fast-paced and that is what I like ... I hate these long \ streched out videos. This video just get's to the point.
A lot of valuable information.
Thank you :) Yes I tend to make tutorials for people with a little or a lot of programming experience. I'm glad you liked it
I don't know if this is the correct place to ask, but I am using the datalist in html5. It shows a list of all the companies and when I select that, I need it to populate 3 other fields based on the selection in the input list.
Do you already have a video on datalists specifically?
Finally had the chance to watch the whole thing. Did an excellent job at filling in gaps in my knowledge. Can't thank you enough! :-)
+Aaron Takizad You're very welcome :)
Fantastic comprehensive tutorial by you Derek & I absolutely love your cool crisp voice !! Great tutorial !
Your tutorials are always, concise, informative, and worth watching.
Tom Thompson Thank you for the nice compliments :)
it's amazing how "every single second" of your tutorial videos is informative and has something to say. thanks a lot for valuing viewers time and producing high quality content
Thank you for the compliment :) That is my goal for every video
Derek you are certainly a "Coder Guru" and my Hero!!
Thank you for the compliment :)
That was amazing...the way you taught kept me engaged for the entire video :)
Thanks!!!
Thank you :) I'm glad you liked it
Thank you so much Derek for creating this tutorial video. I watched the entire video over my weekend and it helped me update and understand my knowledge and skills for HTML5
watched the whole thing, no skips. Love your videos, helped me with lots of homework, especially your java videos.
Thank you :) I'm very happy that it helped
Really nice lecture. Specially when someone wants to revise the whole HTML.Specially the 'canvas' section, it was all new to me.
Thank you I'm happy to be able to help :)
Thanks a lot! Learned more in this video than in some 10 hr courses...
Keep up the great work! U the man! :)
+Milos Radovanovic You're very welcome :) Thank you for the compliment
I just recently discovered your channel. Really great tutorials with a nice pace. Keep it up!
I read somewhere that the will be permanently taken out soon and it explained that people should only use in HTML5 for making text bold.
as some agency thats incharge of making HTML5 will no longer support the old bold
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I have been trying to get a job as a web developer and I watched many other videos, but you are the best sir!
+mkmeggy2 Thank you for the nice compliment :) You're very welcome
I am going to book mark this video and use it as a reference when ever I need something (for example canvas). Very good!
Thank you :) I'm happy I could help
Thank God for a nice tutorial. Derek, you are a champ!
This is awesome! I watched the whole video, I came in with very little knowledge and now I know a whole bunch. I will have to watch this again and try out some of these tips and tricks!!!
Thank you :) I'm happy it helped
I enjoyed watching this video. I know some programming (beginner level) but this has opened up doors to what other functions HTML and JavaScript can do. Thanks for the video!
One question. What would you recommend when starting a new task? Where should I start?
+Louie Padilla thank you I'm happy it helped. What do you mean by a new task? If you mean a website I always start with a complete design
Your videos are wonderful for review. Whenever I feel rusty in a language I just watch and I'm 100% again!
That's great to hear :) I'm happy they help
Thanks for the tutorial. I like especially how dynamical the tutorial is- not boring/no useless sentences...
+Mike Preset I'm very happy you liked it
Between Derek, Alex (phpacademy) and Bucky at thenewboston. I have learned everything I need to know to design a decent website. Now it's just about getting in some practice and creating a portfolio! Thanks Derek!
Thank you for putting me together with the biggest tutorial people on RUclips :) I'm happy I could be of help
just finished watching this video.
You're amazing and really helpful!!
Gotta watch CSS3 video later.
Derek, I absolutely love all your videos. They are very straightforward - while detailed and informative and also provide a lot of coverage on the material.
Keep them up! :)
+Yousuf Jamil Thank you for the nice compliment :) Many more are coming.

Hi Derek Banas!
Thanks for all the high-quality and informative content you make! They're truly helpful. You are a great human being :)
+Frosteh I. Thank you for the nice compliment :) I do my best
Watched the whole thing. Great information. Well paced. Very helpful. Very much appreciate your time.
***** Thank you for all the compliments :) You're very welcome.
Thank you! I will check that out!
Don't think this could be done any faster. A lot of good info here. I learned a lot from this. Thanks.
+Andy Godfrey thank you I do my best to not waste time
Finished watching the entire video. It is a wonderful work, and really saves me a lot of time in learning. New to this. Understood what you presented, but need practice to be familiar. Ready to watch your CCS3 and Javascript videos. Thank you for doing such a thorough job. (Not easy for true beginners though.)
Thank you :) I'm very happy you liked it
Cool, I didn't know about the main-tag and the image map.
Thank you :) I'm happy you enjoy them
Jahaan Panaha (Derek Banas) Tusi Great Ho..! Toffa Kabool karo...! :)
