Shamsher Bahadur was in fact accepted by the Maratha empire and fought alongside the Peshwas in the Third Battle of Panipat in which he was gravely injured and died subsequently. His descendants fought againsts the British in the Anglo Maratha wars and along side Rani Lakshmibai in the first war of independence in 1857.
There are so many stories about Peshwa Bajirao that can be told. His battles of Palkhed and Bhopal are case studies in themselves. The story of his mother's visit to the river Ganga.

That freedom-fighter Nanasaheb was the adopted son of Bajirao II. But the Nanasaheb in this movie is the son of Bajirao I. One of the genius of Writer-Director Sanjay Leela bhansali is that he highlights only one (max. 2) colors in one scene. Notice carefully, in each scene of each film he picks one color which bathes all of it. Like when Peshwa is saying bye to Mastani, red dominates (her dress, his scarf), when Ranveer throws dagger at his brother Chimaji (every single person is in white) and time is of daytime, so white light....This way he ensures that no extra colors distract us and the viewer is focused on the dialogues and subtlest of expressions...Master 🙏

He was an heavenly born cavalry charge general, an undounted, undefeated fearsome warrior. His marriage with Mastani was an political alliance not loved one. Bollywood can't make a historical movie without putting unnecessary secularism in it. Mastani was not a muslim, she along with her father followed a Vaishnavite sect of Hinduism and worshipped Krishna as God. This film is historically so inaccurate that it would make anyone who has read about Bajirao Peshwa cringe.
And show me a single letter or anything that proves Mastani was tortured, Bajirao's marriage with Mastani was purely political, there was no Romeo-Juliet thing going on🤣
Also, in the part 4, the movie would show that Peshwa Baji Rao died because he couldn't bear the pain of Mastani's torture and humiliation(which in reality never happened) but, in reality he died just because of a normal heat stroke(and also the fact that he fought so many battles, expanding the maratha empire from 3% of India's geographical area to 33% of India's geographical area, shows that these battles must have had an impact on his health).

here to see all the people that are rooting for kashi... one should know that Bajirao didn't sign up for "exclusive commitment" to kashi when they married, that marriage was more because of political reasons and early marriage tradition.
Rao was bound to get true love, what would've been bad, if rao started to love someone else after mastani, but that wasn't the case here so bajirao-mastani was a legit couple according to today's human values.

Cheating is not the case if you genuinely love someone, marrying someone today cannot be compared to marrying someone in ancient times.
And bajirao, as I said would've been regarded as a cheater towards kashi if he got another consort after mastani, but that wasn't hos character.
And hindu kings have many a times enjoyed many wives at the same times, dashrath, father of the "so called great rama" for example, also rama who exiled his wife on basis of "people's alleged defiling" with ravana.
So comparing today's marriages to ancient times isn't justified, but the case of true love is same as in ancient times, true love happens and one can't do bull crap about it.
