Let's be honest, Kashi is the best character in this movie.
100%
@Hera Isaway i totally feel the same.
Gaadha like jaby cannot ever understand. He is dumb
Kashi is literally "QUEEN"
💯✨
Bro, but who is superior? Peshwas or chatrapati? Heritage of chh.shivaji maharaj was also there but peshwas were more famous in 1700's.
@@yogeshronte Chhatrapati is superior, peshwas were part of Ashtapradhan who were nominated by Chhatrapati but after Bajirao-1, peshwa post became hereditary and overshadowed Chhatrapati.
@@yogeshronte peshwa was just Pradhan not a king where as chatrapati was King.
She's not LITERALLY the queen but ok I get what you're trying to say
Priyanka chopra took my heart with bajirao mastani. Her eyes, her delivery, her accent everything was perfect. Her conversation with ranveer Singh made me goosebumps when I saw it for the 1st time. Everyone talking about bajirao mastani's love but what about kashi she was the main victim in this movie.
Nobody talks of bajirao mastanis love or whatever after this film. Everyone talks about Kashibai.
Although its bajirao and mastani's love story no one sympathise with them cuz kashi stole everyone's heart.. priyanka just did so well that it broke everyone's heart and everyone rooted for her
@@priyak7384 Beasuse Kashi is the "Queeen ♕ "
Cannot agree more with the eyes and the delivery part. She did great with the emotions and overall acting but I must say the accent was not good enough although the acting saved it and it wasnt putting u off.
absolutely correct. The Mastani shown in this movie was a husband-stealer, home wrecker b....i...t.......h
The Younger Brother of Peshwa Bajirao was Chimanji Appa (who you think he "hates).
Chimanji Appa was also a man of impeccable integrity, character, courage and brilliance. He is the one who planed all the battles of Peshwa Bajirao.
Chimanji Appa defeated the Portuguese and drove them out of the Maratha empire. Like his brother, he too NEVER lost a Battle in his entire life.
Exactly ....these fools understand history through lens of films by stupid directors
When peshwa renounced the throne, chimani was actually worried.
@@DeepakKumar-ut3ix it's never happened in history. After the death of mastani his son grown up with other peshawai sons, and he fought panipat war along with sadashiv bhavu.
Priyanka says in one dialogue near mastani mahal that Chimnaji appa and others have gone on the vasai campaign but the subtitles say they have gone to inspect lands.
Yeah, and they were really close in real life. It was as if those two were one person
it's funny how everyone is supposed to understand Mastani's heart but then what about Kashi? she had to see her love/ husband in love with someone else and accept it.......
This movie has one of the best extra marrital affair story. This movie deserves more.
right? not many people are sympathising with her.
Thats true
@@vinayrao1087 Correct me if I am wrong but isn't the Peshwa a Brahmin? Did they take multiple wives? Either way, Kashi's pain is totally justified.
My mother saw this movie and she was cussing at mastani character all the time😄
Maybe I’m in the minority here, but for me Priyanka was the most captivating performer of the three leads in this movie. My heart broke for her. The position she was put in, the betrayal, the acceptance that was expected out of her…she conveyed all of that brilliantly!
Definitely not the minority 🤭🤭
Have u read the comments? It's all about Priyanka. She devoured the character to the T
The comments have said it already
Priyanka is the soul of this movie
Priyanka Chopra is the best actress of her generation. Her portrayal of Kashibai blew everyone away: critics, audiences and film lovers.
Shamsher Bahadur was in fact accepted by the Maratha empire and fought alongside the Peshwas in the Third Battle of Panipat in which he was gravely injured and died subsequently. His descendants fought againsts the British in the Anglo Maratha wars and along side Rani Lakshmibai in the first war of independence in 1857.
There are so many stories about Peshwa Bajirao that can be told. His battles of Palkhed and Bhopal are case studies in themselves. The story of his mother's visit to the river Ganga.
He infact marched on Delhi thrice in his life just to show that the Mughals are just the titular heads and the real power belongs in Pune.
BASED and Bhagwapilled
All of the drama in the movie was historically inaccurate. Shamsher was literally brought up by Kashi Bai.
@@tam6753 thats true but its also historical correct brahman did not accept him as hindu thats why he brought up a muslim
@@nothing276 that's not true and there's no historical record of same.
This movie is one of my favourite coz of Ranveer and Priyankas acting skills.. Ranveer got tat Marathi accent perfectly... history wise they have shown 75% true story.. he was the greatest Peshwa of all time and he never lost a wat in his lifetime... And there is a Mastani Mahal and Shaniwar wada in Pune city...
This picture is made based on Marathi book Raau.
But it should have shown the bravery and valour showcased by bajirao more than the love story part so that the masses in India got to know about the hardwork of this warrior more than the love story
Well... calling Bajirao the greatest Peshwa is pov... According to many Historians it was his Grandson Madhavrao...who held together the collapsing Maratha Empire after the tragedy at Panipat and conquered Delhi and sent the Nizam running again...He was crowned the Peshwa at the age of 19 after his elder brother Vishwas was killed in Panipat and his father Nanasaheb died of stress...He was Peshwa for just 10 yrs as he died due to Tuberculosis...But the work he did in those 10 years was impeccable and delayed the coming of the British a little longer
@@hehehuhu6074 agreed 👍
@@hehehuhu6074 If the movie was more about war then neither Priyanka nor Deepika would be interested to play the role as they are too big of an actor to play side characters like Kriti Sanon did in Panipat. Also then it would be a typical period war movie. Bajirao Mastani is arguably the best Indian period film alongside Jodha Akbar because those two are lot different in terms of story and movie making than the rest.
Priyanka is amazing, I would not say Deepika did any less of a job. She's really good too. Ranveer is super. And even the side characters are so well done. It's a well acted film. 👌
exactly... all of them outperformed themselves in this movie.
Her character was like that we loved Priyanka more than deepika just like we loved deepika in cocktail
@@জীৱনএখনউপন্যাস i don't feel like it can be compared. It's just the kind of difference in the character.
@@kritigupta6437 exactly
Eh deepika is nowhere near priyanka lol she is just hot and has many fans she is a mediocre actor. Priyanka is one of the best female bollywood actors we have ever had.
*The best scene of this film is the conversation between Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh. From the way of dressing , it seems that the elder daughter-in-law of this house is there. Those who are lost in the world are found, but those who are lost in the courtyard of the house are difficult to find. What is bad for a stranger's wound, it pricks your own. You would have asked us for our life, we would have happily given it, but you took away our pride. Priyanka is the life of this film. In this film, the heroine was Deepika, but Priyanka Chopra was praised and Priyanka Chopra also got the love of the general public* . 👌👌👌
I don't see many people talking about Ranveer's acting. Dude nailed it.
Obviously 🙌
Personally, I think the expressions and emotions on his face were amazing but I don't pretty much like the dialogue delivery of both Ranveer and Priyanka. Although, Priyanka's dialogues in the later half were beautifully delivered. Loved it.
Ranveer nails it in any role and this one was where I really thought my gosh I haven't seen such powerful yet nuanced acting by a male actor from his generation.
And this historical wins the test of time unlike many other attempts of historicals around the Maratha empire that have since come after this movies release like Panipat and countless others.
When I imagine Peshwa Bajirao, I see Ranveer.
His acting at the end when he loses his mind imagining mastani going into the water was breathtaking ranveer nailed it
The scene where Priyanka and Ranveer have the conversation is just amazing and hard hitting, the dialogues the detailing, especially the way he takes the pipe and blows off the diyas kept above while crying and leaves
I am really loving the reactions of Mary Cherry.
She seems to be soo much interested in the movie.
Hope to see more of her reactions on indian movies.
The elder person who you thought is a kid of "Kashi" & "Peshwa Bajirao" (Nanasaheb)
He isn't the son by birth He is an adopted son by Peshwa Bajirao and Kashi
No no. There were two different Nanasahebs amongst the Peshwas. I think you are confusing him with the Nanasaheb who fought the war of indepence in 1857. That freedom-fighter Nanasaheb was the adopted son of Bajirao II. But the Nanasaheb in this movie is the son of Bajirao I. The Nanasaheb of the movie was also known as Balaji Bajirao and became Peshwa after Bajirao I. On the other hand, the freedom fighter Nanasaheb was the adopted son of this Nanasaheb's nephew
What i have observed is that as more and more people watch Indian Cinema globally, for example these reaction channels by non-Indians; These have lead to beautiful translations through substitles. They even make phrases rhyme if they rhyme in the original language. The jist is kept intact and the dialogues hit on point and they hit hard! Like that is such a huge achievement
She is literally immersed in the story...!
Ranveer is out standing 🙌 no one can play bajirao without him his dialogue delivery his voice is accent everything is just perfect 🙌
Maturity is when you realise priyanka overpower both deepika and ranveer with her small part
everyone's talking about kashi. kashi played by pc has been beyond extraordinary as a character. the emotions, the dialogue, chef's kiss💋. but why do people fail to realise that this movie creates a big impact on emotions not because of the acting of 1 person. you felt what you felt about kashi only because deepika and ranveer were equally immaculate in the acting department. all three of their characters and the actors that played it were equally stunning together on screen which is why this turned out to be great movie.
There is always this one person..When the movie premiered everyone ignored PC and her performance..now finally people are realising her impact on the film what is the problem with that? I personally did not connect with both bajirao and mastani’s characters and although performance rs and dp were good they no where left any impact for me and most people appearently like pc did..nothing wrong with that
@@aminas.2541 we all have our opinions.. you are completely and totally entitled to yours.. nothing wrong with what you said..
Tbh I personally found dp's facial expressions a bit stoic. But it was also her first period movie. Her performance also significantly improved in padmaavat, so I'd say i do appreciate her efforts a lot tho.
@@blairwrelos1891 solid opinion..
Barfi amazing movie by Priyanka and Ranbir you will enjoy that movie for sure
That was my request too
yes please Mr jaby
This movie released in 2015. The same year Priyanka and ranveer acted in Dil dhadakne do in which they played the role of siblings!
Such different roles yet played with perfection ❤️
I must say this movie is piece of art. Costume design, cinematography, acting, songs all are on point
Priyanka Chopra really outsined everyone with her acting skills in this movie
Ranveer Singh's eyes are enough to act🔥he is such a great actor....... Plz do watch padmavat next you will be amazed by his skills
Ranveer is a method actor. I remember the times where headlines of him trapping himself in a room for months to prepare himself for khilji in padmavat went viral😳
He seems like a crazy person who might do that , and we dont complain😂
Priyanka ended him in this same film.
Ranveer is sooo good as Bajirao! and yes good catch on the method acting bit. Ranveer has said he used to be a method actor in his earlier days, especially in challenging roles like this. but more recently he is more spontaneous. He is the same actor who was in Gully boy. Literally so versatile in my opinion.
8:46 Peshwa is not the family name, it's the highest post in the king's court, the Maratha empire. he was chosen as the new Peshwa in the peacock feather scene remember? it was later misconceived as family heritage as his sons and future generation kept becoming the next Peshwa, just like Bajirao's father once was and Bajirao became the next.
Mastani palace is no more, but the water well where Mastani used to bath is still present in Kothrud, Pune, I have seen it.
Really? Would love to visit it
Bollywood's dance sequences are so epic and underrated...to achieve such coordination among so many people is commendable.
This film really shows how different Kashi's and Mastani's love for Bajirao is. Kashi's unconditional love towards Bajirao allows her to let him go even though it breaks her heart, and Mastani's obsessive love made her follow Bajirao even though it destroyed 3 lives(i.e., Bajirao, Mastani and Kashi). This movie really shows how destructive obsessive love is.
Ranveer Singh was amazing as the Peshwa! He deserved the national award!
One of the genius of Writer-Director Sanjay Leela bhansali is that he highlights only one (max. 2) colors in one scene. Notice carefully, in each scene of each film he picks one color which bathes all of it. Like when Peshwa is saying bye to Mastani, red dominates (her dress, his scarf), when Ranveer throws dagger at his brother Chimaji (every single person is in white) and time is of daytime, so white light....This way he ensures that no extra colors distract us and the viewer is focused on the dialogues and subtlest of expressions...Master 🙏
The thing I hated about this movie how much they had distorted the original history is really pathetic. Baji Rao was Never an mad lover shown like in this movie. He was an heavenly born cavalry charge general, an undounted, undefeated fearsome warrior. His marriage with Mastani was an political alliance not loved one. He never even able to give time to his first wife because of his continuous wars and conquests. He was one of most powerful administrator of india during 18th and 19 th century but this movie is literally made him just a extremely sad lover. I really hate the storyline this move had chosen.
Exactly what i was thinking...
The strongest commander was turned into a Loverboy...
The love story was also very cringe
Because this was fiction loosely based on historical events nit a historical documentary.
@Piyush I mean it sounds interesting🤣🤣🤣🤣. i would watch it because i have the ability to differentiate between fiction and reality.
@Piyushdude are you even reading what you are writing🤣 you are the one who has a problem that the movie doesn't portray the history exactly yet I am the idiot for pointing out it's a fictional movie, not a history documentary. and yes I would watch anything because I'm not a fragile snowflake who gets offended when people don't do what I want them to.
Bajrao loved Mastani, this caused a huge scandal in Pune. This is a historical fact. His family was thus boycotted.
Shamsher bahadur was accepted by maratha emipre as After the closely following deaths of Bajirao & Mastani in 1740, Kashibai took the 6yr old shamsher bahadur under her care and raised him as one of her own child. Shamsher was even bestowed upon a portion of Bajirao's dominion of Banda & Kalpi, He grew up with other peshawai sons and was part of Maratha conquest. He fought alongside his peshwa brothers and cousins in Third battle of Panipat.
"par aapne toh hmse hmara guroor cheen liya"
- delivery of this line💘
Yup, that was a dialogue well delivered
I wish I could watch Achara's reaction to this movie. She would have been able to understand and also express the minute details, the complex feelings of Bajirao, Kashi and Mastani as well as the Aai saheb. There are so many nuanced moments in this film, so beautifully executed. I am quite certain Achara would have been a great person to watch along and discuss this film with.
Yes.... i feel the same
Chimaji Appa (Brother of Bajirao) later moved his regim to coastal region of Maharaashtra (North Mumbai in today's context) in Vasai. As said in the movie by Priyanks's one dialogue. There is still a fort and a whole set up where he defended the coast. There I used to go play in a monument during my childhood... It was a monument - play place like set up.
i had watched this movie right after it's release in my early teens and had hated kashi for coming in between bajirao and mastani. but now when i think about it, my respect for kashi grows more. poor girl had to go through the worst thing that could happen to any woman.
Bollywood can't make a historical movie without putting unnecessary secularism in it. Mastani was not a muslim, she along with her father followed a Vaishnavite sect of Hinduism and worshipped Krishna as God. This film is historically so inaccurate that it would make anyone who has read about Bajirao Peshwa cringe.
And show me a single letter or anything that proves Mastani was tortured, Bajirao's marriage with Mastani was purely political, there was no Romeo-Juliet thing going on🤣
Also, in the part 4, the movie would show that Peshwa Baji Rao died because he couldn't bear the pain of Mastani's torture and humiliation(which in reality never happened) but, in reality he died just because of a normal heat stroke(and also the fact that he fought so many battles, expanding the maratha empire from 3% of India's geographical area to 33% of India's geographical area, shows that these battles must have had an impact on his health).
exactly. All garbage
Peshwa Bajirao was one of the bravest warrior in Maratha Empire. He fought 40+ wars and never lost any. But then love defeated him in life.
Kashibai actually took Mastani's son as her own and raised him to be a king. Read about it
*A lesson is learned from this film that due to one mistake of extra marital affairs, the whole house and family are destroyed. And how does a warrior end* .
Let’s give the credit mastani she loved him more than anything else wow
Yes, and it changed Maratha empire forever as her son Krishna Sinh aka Shamsher Bahadur became the peshwa and everyone accepted him including Bajirao's mother. He expanded Maratha empire in the North, the first peshwa to do so.
In real life marriage between bajirao and mastani was political to secure relationship between maratha empire and bundelkhand and she was not a warrior. Infact bajirao and mastani didn't meet before their marriage. And kashi and mastani didn't meet each other ever. But kashi took care of mastani's son after her deth.
Yes his family was not happy with marriage but they didn't mistreate her and her son smasher bahadur.
Bajirao eldest son Nana sahib peshwa(kashi's son)make his half brother(son of mastani)rural of banda which was dominion of maratha empire in northern india.
Moral of the story: If the movie was released now, it would have been boycotted..
@@loveutube04 this movie is disgusting it is character assassination of bajirao, brother, mother and son.
In they are showing bajirao's brother chimaji Rao as bad guy but in reality he was right hand man of bajirao and they were very close. He was very loyal to bajirao.
He fought against Portuguese and won.

His son did not throw mastani in prison.

12:01 the real acting starts
here to see all the people that are rooting for kashi... one should know that Bajirao didn't sign up for "exclusive commitment" to kashi when they married, that marriage was more because of political reasons and early marriage tradition.
Rao was bound to get true love, what would've been bad, if rao started to love someone else after mastani, but that wasn't the case here so bajirao-mastani was a legit couple according to today's human values.
maybe your father also did not sign an exclusive commitment contract with your mother?
Ummm not really. In baji's ruling period maratha people used to have only one wife even if they married them for political reasons. So yeah in a way he did sign up for exclusive commitment just like any other man in his kingdom. Also even if he didn't it still doesn't excuse the pain and heartbreak kaashi must have gone through. Acknowledging your husband's affair doesn't mean accepting it
Brahmins are monogamous at that time too, so it's still a cheating and unethical . But you can justify this as however you wish.
@@gracedeals19 Way to go with the civilized comment bro !
Cheating is not the case if you genuinely love someone, marrying someone today cannot be compared to marrying someone in ancient times.
And bajirao, as I said would've been regarded as a cheater towards kashi if he got another consort after mastani, but that wasn't hos character.
And hindu kings have many a times enjoyed many wives at the same times, dashrath, father of the "so called great rama" for example, also rama who exiled his wife on basis of "people's alleged defiling" with ravana.
So comparing today's marriages to ancient times isn't justified, but the case of true love is same as in ancient times, true love happens and one can't do bull crap about it.
I wish you would understand the lyrics of pinga song. It's masterpiece
Bajirao, should only be remembered as one off the greatest warrior

Priyanka Chopra's portrayal of Kashibai overshadowed everyone in this film. Kashibai is the Queen and the film should have been named Kashbai's Tale.
Just like a scabbard can't hold two swords at a time, a single heart can NEVER beat for two persons at a time!! Whether one accepts the fact or not!
Maturity when you realize mastani is the main villian who tried to destroy maratha empire, she was a parasite. Bajirao family had this tension between em because of mastani.
This is all true story..✨
Watch Atrangi Re movie starring Dhanush, Sara and Akshay. It's a great watch with strong performances.
Chimaji was Peshwa's own brother and closest aid. will never deceive, this is a real history. Peshwa led 42 wars and lost in none. One of the finest cavalry regent of all times ! Great visionary and leader, retained the great dharma of the land.
When he say the last dialogue to Mastani it just break my heart 💔 because they know that they will maybe not meet again 🤦🏻♀️😩😭
All for ❤️ for Kashi non for Mastani and Bajirao
Stop believing in anti-Hindu bollywood. Bajirao did not cheat Kashi bai, he legitimately married Mastani with full sanction of both kingdoms to forge an alliance to fight the Mughals.
I think you people should definitely watch the animated version of Bajirao story, because that clearly portrays him as a warrior not a lover boy.
Most of us resonate with kashi's pain more than bajirao-mastani love story, that's is probably because now time has changed.. Probably in that time it was understandable or common to have more than one wife but now it's not...
No. It's because Priyanka's performance overpowered this film and other characters. The same character could have been played by another actress and in that case Bajirao Mastani love story could have sidelined Kashi. Priyanka's portrayal made it possible.
It was not allowed to have more than one wife. Only kings were allowed. Peshwa's family was boycotted in Pune because of this.
Priyanka Chopra won the hearts in this movie.
Everythin is cool but i think the movie name should be Kashi bai instead. Hats of to pc who did such a great work and expressed the pain of kashi so well 🙌
It's not just a family name but also kind of a title
It's a real story...they both died after this incident... Mastani died because of the injuries and after that Peshwa Bajirao -2nd died because of her, everyone talking about their love story..but we Indians know how hard it was for Kashi Bai.
SLB wanted people to fall in love with the Bajirao Mastani love....But people gave their heart to Kashi

May I suggest an action film set during the British Raj in India?
The The Jungle Book (1994 Live action version) is about an Indian Gurka who rescues a British woman from thugs. It was Disney's bloodiest film until Pirates of the Carribean.
