Then after learning that Sonia killed her family, she uses her power to kill her as a sort of poetic justice. And actually, I don't think she actually kills her which fits with Nino's innocence.

Nino is cute, storywise one of my more beloved characters. Some play through I make her into a demigoddess of death an destruction, sometimes I bench her.

If I had to give a canon pairing to Nino, obviously I'd pick Jaffar over Erk (Erk would go with Serra or Priscilla), in which case, personality wise, Lugh takes after his mother while Ray takes after his father

Mangs is one of those people who thinks that the hardest mode is fire emblem and that casual play is inferior. Games are made to play and have fun/relax, but the fire emblem community has people who just look down on people because of what characters they use or how they play. It's ridiculous
Most of the enjoyment from using Nino comes from slowly training her up, and then watching her obliterate the 100+ enemies in Victory or Death. I got her from a Level 13 Mage, promoted at 20, to a Level 20 Sage in the same chapter because of this. The carnage was just glorious.
I'm one of the people who really enjoy farming Nino. In fact, i managed to promote her before she fought Sonia even though I didn't use any items at all.
Uhh Mangs, about the water temple part, don't you mean Nino and her newfound giving Sonia a fatal wound? Iirc, Sonia didn't die immediately from Nino and her friends, but was left for dead by them and Nergal.
One of my recent playthroughs had me give Nino a whirl. She turned out better than I thought. Give her an A Support with Jaffar and she'll do just fine. There's also the fact that I make sure after some leveling I give her a Guiding Ring to promote her so she reaches Sage class. Her appearance in said class is a bit unique. Unique as in she doesn't have the "long hair" despite wearing the outfit. Not to mention how well it works with the boss fight against Sonia. Also used the Afa Drops on her. I know she's got good growth rates but I could've sworn I noticed an exp boost on whoever it's used it.
+Xsoqja Fraud It's debatable if Sara is an Est archetype unit but she's qualified to be one (and Miranda was the one considered by many as the Est in Thracia even though both Sara and Miranda has the same recruitment chapter and has low levels but high growths). It would be fun to see her spotlight tho.
Yea some people doesn't consider her as an Est since she's still very useful even after being underleveled. She's still one of the best units in the series though.
I love Nino in not just supports but combat as well. Sure she starts off very weak, but she can be a great unit if you decide to give her time (which I did in first playthrough).
Without Zephiel, Desmond would have continued a rule of bern, and possibly could have done even worse than Zephiel. And let's be honest, the fire dragon would have destroyed elibe without the help of almighty pre promote jaffar, and best est Nino.

I actually find training Nino very easy, as the next chapter has tons of easy choke points. Just put a high defense character in front of her and she can safely hit enemies.
You can actually get Nino to promote by the end of Sonia's chapter by surrounding her with four characters, including Lyn with a bow, Rebecca, and any reasonably evasive healer. Give Nino a few Fire and Thunder tomes, and she can potentially do damage to Sonia in that same chapter.
But if Nino and Jaffar killed Zephial, then Hellene would have no use for the Fire Emblem, not give them the location of The Shrine of Seals, leave them unable to get the legendary weapons and Nergal would be able to summon ALL THE DRAGONS dooming Elibe to rule of dragons... unless Canas comes in with a Luna tome.
Fuck the haters, I like Nino for her potential, even if I have to babysit her. The return on investment is well worth it in my opnion. I never gave a shit about turn counts because I'm also an arena user. And there's not much reward for minimizing turn counts outside of a very, very minor boost to units and bragging rights.

I've spent hours going through these videos today just on these alone. Soooo... With that in mind. I request a spotlight on a character that tries his hardest to stay out of the spotlight. One of the greatest assassins in FE if not outright the greatest. I'm talking about "The Fireman" Volke!
I use nino a lot because as mangs said I like to have fun while playing fire emblem. I think she's better than erk tho. Erk gets rng-screwed so easily..
Nino sucks ridiculously more on Hector mode compared to Eliwood mode. In Eliwood mode she can take the Magic flank (i.e. the left side) in Valorous Roland (even on Hard Mode). Give her Fire, Elfire or Thunder, Vulnerary or Elixer, and Pure Water (or rely on the one that an enemy drops and she can get from level 5-6 to level 18. If you want give Eliwood a Guiding Ring so she can promote there. In Hector mode there is no chapter as easy to give Nino experience as that, and the system only really works if she gets at least 2 good levels up in the Battle Before Dawn, the Water Temple, or Cog of Destiny.
I say she sucks more on Hector Mode, but she still isn't particularly better than Pent except that Pent's A support is already taken by Louise where Nino can support with better options.
u know u say that Erk is better than Nino and yet Erk's growth rates are honestly pretty mediocre (how bout that 30% Luck growth), Pent on the other hand I can at the very least understand since while his growths are not much better, he at least has high enough base stats to where u can stick him there and he'll be fine. Plus he starts out with an A-Support Honestly I've played Blazing Sword plenty of times and in my experience with Hector Mode, it only took me 1 chapter of babysitting Nino before I upgraded here. From there she was on her own and with a support with Jaffar will boost her evasion quite nicely, she became a force to be reckoned with. Overall I completely disagree with the fact that Erk is a better unit with Nino. Pent I'll admit is the viable option because you get him a bit earlier and unlike Nino u don't need to baby him for him to be a solid unit, but Nino is by no means a bad unit like u claim
The Rogue Lord Erk joins in Chapter 14 and can be trained in Lyn Mode. Nino joins on chapter 28 and had shit bases. And you experience doesn’t mean shit.
Nino is one of my favorite units to use because as a character, I really like her and her development. THAT BEING SAID, holy hell was my last Nino trash. She had 10 magic at level 20. It was heartbreaking.
Compare numbers to other numbers? I know why some people find that enjoyable, but if the base of the worth of a game is how much you enjoy playing it, then a unit's worth becomes very subjective. When I play fire emblem, I use only characters that I like and while sometimes that is a pain (especially because I really like the character of Rennac in FE8), it makes the challenging nature of the game more enjoyable
I found that Nino levels up without any effort at all. She quickly became one of my higher leveled characters and is a definate go-to resource for more strategicly intensive battles. Maybe that's just because of how I typicaly use her to attack from spaces where short-range weapons can't reach her; or maybe I just tend to pick her cause she's cute. Either way she's an excelent character both in story and in gameplay.
meh. I find her extremely easy to train as long as you don't play too carelessley. most people's arguments to why she isn't as good as the other 2 anima users is her low con. Mage Knights fix this and giving her an added mobility would make her godlike. it really just comes down if you want to train her or not. which again, I find extremely easy. if she could promote to Mage Knight there would be any reason to use pent or erk. the only reason to use pent is because of his weapon ranks. at least that is what I think.
The reason people call Nino bad is not because of low constitution or because she's difficult to train, but because she's available for like 10 chapters. Erk is available for 25+ chapters.
those are just some of the reasons people don't like Nino. But availability really doesn't matter since she is easily to train so she is battle ready by cog of destiny and has already surpassed erk. I honestly think erk is the worst of the three. Pent having very good weapon ranks and base stats and Nino having so much potential and being able to easily achieve her max potential after her join time really makes erk only useful for the reason you mentioned. availability. that is the only thing he has over the other anima users.if you want a defensive magic user with good bases and ranks that comes with an a support already, choose pent. if you want someone who will definitely be a late game star and will be a monster on a player phase with good avoidance(despite her low con slowing her down a bit)and is pretty easy to play catch up with, choose nino. if you like erk, use erk, but he won't be as good as the others. (So yeah, that is my opinion, on Nino. sorry if I sound like a Nino fanboy, I not trying trying to argue, just stating what I think.)
for some reason i've always enjoyed the challenge of babysitting nino and keeping her alive, it just adds a lot of necessary difficulty in the chapters after battle before dawn. So I always end up using her and she can become insanely strong, I had her cap ALL of her stats except for defense once at lvl 20/16 sage. absolutely crazy. I did give her afa's drops though
I like Nino. In one chapter (26x) she became worth it, and at lvl 15, I premoted her next chapter. I had her replace Pent, as he was too easy to use, and the relationship between her and Erk was probably my favorite in the game. If it was any other chapter, I wouldn't have used her, but 26x gives you so much experience for a bonus chapter, that if you spend it on Nino, it instantly boosts her to "best in class", although I totally understand using Pent and getting on with your life. That's exactly what I'll do on repeat playthroughs.
wasn't it revealed that Brendan Reed never trusted Sonia? I thought that was mentioned after the Gaiden chapter where Sonia is killed in the water temple.

I like using her. By this point you should have 2 or 3 mines to take advantage up to level her up. I give the afa's drop because at this point int the game, there really isn't anyone else to use it on.
Interesting spotlight. I would say the best way to define Nino in a purely gameplay wise, is "unpractical" Not a bad unit per say, just a hard to make the best of her
I like using Nino to support both Rebecca and Legault so that Legault gives her Avoid and Defense, and Nino gives Legault Crit (which is GREAT for Assassins), Attack and Avoid. I do it for Rebecca so that Nino and Rebecca both get the B-rank +1 Damage and the extra Crit, which, when added to Dart's Fire support with Rebecca so that Rebecca has AMAZING Crit. Seriously, Rebecca will have a Critical cap of 45 AT BASE.

I always use nino. I started playing again and I gave erk a chance, but at a lvl 6 sage, he had 17 magic and 12 skill and I remembered why I didn't use him. pent is so good when he joins he feels like cheating to me. plus I had to play normal mode and nino was super easy to train thanks to ninis' grace
Yeah she's the Est character of the Elibe series of Fire Emblem I have nothing against her I just feel that she's not all that much because if you have a highly trained mage or you already have your best sage at certain points she gets a little outclassed to be fully honest.
+fangiscool1 Pent is actually the most efficient Anima (excluding Athos) user imo because he comes with solid bases (holy smokes, Batman! Magic, Spd, Def, Con!), dual A ranks, an Elfire and a Physic, plus a pretty sweet bae. Erk on the other hand, is still better than Nino due to accessibility - you get him fairly early and he comes with an Icon that you can sell for the cash moneyz if you're desperate. If anything, he's a free Thunder tome and he isn't a liability like Nino. The problem is that every time I end up using Erk, I don't train him enough after he gets to the Sage class. His stats sometimes match Pent's, but the problem remains that his Con and Staff rank can't touch Pent's. So unfortunately, Erk's rating is downgraded. Nino on the other hand is a a grain of sand on the beach. There could be a thousand Ests and I still wouldn't know why people use the majority of them. You have to keep her alive, for two chapters if you really want to make use of her story, and to get the second chapter she has to avoid Boltings and stray enemies then talk to some rabid killer who won't even join you til the next chapter has begun. Oh, and said chapter has that poopy land removal + no merchant for items. Yikes. And a Berserk staff user + Sonia's Bolting for any of your units. And not to mention, it's a hassle to even try and steal any of the treasure in that map. And all this because you wanted to find out more about a little girl. Yup. Story aside, however, her growths are above average but her handicap is that she can get RNG screwed. Sure, she'll only need a fire tome - but she starts with an Elfire. Which means she doesn't even come with an item she should be using. Not only that, her HP is so low that in the off chance she gets hit in the beginning she'll die fairly quickly so you have no choice but to wall and feed her.... So yeah, my boy Pent is looking pretty good isn't he :3
KibaNoTsubasa Erk is such a mediocre mage. Pent is good. Nino requires babying. If your squad is only has a couple good units, then I guess she's worth it. Pent would be the best mage, imo. Comes with the ability to use physic staves too.

How can you call the only unit capable of wielding anima-magic before promotion for the first 60-70% of the game bad? In addition to that, it’s a unit that can be trained in the prologue and has insane availability, and also comes with a 40% magic growth and a 50% speed growth. Erk is not mediocre, he is amazing. Having an anima user in Hector hard mode capable of doubling those extremely tough cavaliers and armor knights in the early to mid-game is very useful. Sure, Pent might be better once he rolls around, but he does join rather late.
Mangs With Lyn mode he would probably be good. But without it he comes with 7 base speed and has bad support options. Then you get Lucius in 2 or 3 chapters later with 10 base speed and superior offense and supports. The lightning tome helps Erk, but without Lyn mode I find him very mediocre.

Nino often only needs Afa's Drops and power leveling to kill Sonia. I've never had to give her any stat boosters.

u know u say that Erk is better than Nino and yet Erk's growth rates are honestly pretty mediocre (how bout that 30% Luck growth), Pent on the other hand I can at the very least understand since while his growths are not much better, he at least has high enough base stats to where u can stick him there and he'll be fine. Plus he starts out with an A-Support
Honestly I've played Blazing Sword plenty of times and in my experience with Hector Mode, it only took me 1 chapter of babysitting Nino before I upgraded here. From there she was on her own and with a support with Jaffar will boost her evasion quite nicely, she became a force to be reckoned with.
Overall I completely disagree with the fact that Erk is a better unit with Nino. Pent I'll admit is the viable option because you get him a bit earlier and unlike Nino u don't need to baby him for him to be a solid unit, but Nino is by no means a bad unit like u claim
The Rogue Lord Erk joins in Chapter 14 and can be trained in Lyn Mode. Nino joins on chapter 28 and had shit bases. And you experience doesn’t mean shit.
Nino is one of my favorite units to use because as a character, I really like her and her development. THAT BEING SAID, holy hell was my last Nino trash. She had 10 magic at level 20. It was heartbreaking.
Nino may be bad but she is definitely fun to use during the final chapters. What? You like getting 4 exp when you kill a cavalier? Yeah, thought so.
Compare numbers to other numbers? I know why some people find that enjoyable, but if the base of the worth of a game is how much you enjoy playing it, then a unit's worth becomes very subjective. When I play fire emblem, I use only characters that I like and while sometimes that is a pain (especially because I really like the character of Rennac in FE8), it makes the challenging nature of the game more enjoyable
I found that Nino levels up without any effort at all. She quickly became one of my higher leveled characters and is a definate go-to resource for more strategicly intensive battles. Maybe that's just because of how I typicaly use her to attack from spaces where short-range weapons can't reach her; or maybe I just tend to pick her cause she's cute. Either way she's an excelent character both in story and in gameplay.

meh. I find her extremely easy to train as long as you don't play too carelessley. most people's arguments to why she isn't as good as the other 2 anima users is her low con. Mage Knights fix this and giving her an added mobility would make her godlike. it really just comes down if you want to train her or not. which again, I find extremely easy. if she could promote to Mage Knight there would be any reason to use pent or erk. the only reason to use pent is because of his weapon ranks. at least that is what I think.
also I would like to see a character spotlight on sakura. since your doing fates only characters it seems. if this isn't the case, then sophia
The reason people call Nino bad is not because of low constitution or because she's difficult to train, but because she's available for like 10 chapters. Erk is available for 25+ chapters.
those are just some of the reasons people don't like Nino. But availability really doesn't matter since she is easily to train so she is battle ready by cog of destiny and has already surpassed erk. I honestly think erk is the worst of the three. Pent having very good weapon ranks and base stats and Nino having so much potential and being able to easily achieve her max potential after her join time really makes erk only useful for the reason you mentioned. availability. that is the only thing he has over the other anima users.if you want a defensive magic user with good bases and ranks that comes with an a support already, choose pent. if you want someone who will definitely be a late game star and will be a monster on a player phase with good avoidance(despite her low con slowing her down a bit)and is pretty easy to play catch up with, choose nino. if you like erk, use erk, but he won't be as good as the others. (So yeah, that is my opinion, on Nino. sorry if I sound like a Nino fanboy, I not trying trying to argue, just stating what I think.)
for some reason i've always enjoyed the challenge of babysitting nino and keeping her alive, it just adds a lot of necessary difficulty in the chapters after battle before dawn. So I always end up using her and she can become insanely strong, I had her cap ALL of her stats except for defense once at lvl 20/16 sage. absolutely crazy. I did give her afa's drops though

Nabeel Hussain Mosul can promote to Archer and Sniper in her Paralogue. You can use just Cupid Bow for boss of Paralogue for couple hundred turns.

I like Nino. In one chapter (26x) she became worth it, and at lvl 15, I premoted her next chapter. I had her replace Pent, as he was too easy to use, and the relationship between her and Erk was probably my favorite in the game. If it was any other chapter, I wouldn't have used her, but 26x gives you so much experience for a bonus chapter, that if you spend it on Nino, it instantly boosts her to "best in class", although I totally understand using Pent and getting on with your life. That's exactly what I'll do on repeat playthroughs.

I like using her. By this point you should have 2 or 3 mines to take advantage up to level her up. I give the afa's drop because at this point int the game, there really isn't anyone else to use it on.

When I use her, she usually maxes out all stats other than defense and HP. Takes a LOT of patience and time, but totally worth it.

I like using Nino to support both Rebecca and Legault so that Legault gives her Avoid and Defense, and Nino gives Legault Crit (which is GREAT for Assassins), Attack and Avoid. I do it for Rebecca so that Nino and Rebecca both get the B-rank +1 Damage and the extra Crit, which, when added to Dart's Fire support with Rebecca so that Rebecca has AMAZING Crit. Seriously, Rebecca will have a Critical cap of 45 AT BASE.
Nino is a good unit. Only numbers matter, and her's are better than Pent's and (probably) Erk's

I always use nino. I started playing again and I gave erk a chance, but at a lvl 6 sage, he had 17 magic and 12 skill and I remembered why I didn't use him. pent is so good when he joins he feels like cheating to me. plus I had to play normal mode and nino was super easy to train thanks to ninis' grace

Yeah she's the Est character of the Elibe series of Fire Emblem I have nothing against her I just feel that she's not all that much because if you have a highly trained mage or you already have your best sage at certain points she gets a little outclassed to be fully honest.
+Lord Tullus 9 sucks that a prepromote like Pent has a strong argument for best sage in FE7
+fangiscool1 Pent is actually the most efficient Anima (excluding Athos) user imo because he comes with solid bases (holy smokes, Batman! Magic, Spd, Def, Con!), dual A ranks, an Elfire and a Physic, plus a pretty sweet bae.
Erk on the other hand, is still better than Nino due to accessibility - you get him fairly early and he comes with an Icon that you can sell for the cash moneyz if you're desperate. If anything, he's a free Thunder tome and he isn't a liability like Nino. The problem is that every time I end up using Erk, I don't train him enough after he gets to the Sage class. His stats sometimes match Pent's, but the problem remains that his Con and Staff rank can't touch Pent's. So unfortunately, Erk's rating is downgraded.
Nino on the other hand is a a grain of sand on the beach. There could be a thousand Ests and I still wouldn't know why people use the majority of them. You have to keep her alive, for two chapters if you really want to make use of her story, and to get the second chapter she has to avoid Boltings and stray enemies then talk to some rabid killer who won't even join you til the next chapter has begun. Oh, and said chapter has that poopy land removal + no merchant for items. Yikes. And a Berserk staff user + Sonia's Bolting for any of your units. And not to mention, it's a hassle to even try and steal any of the treasure in that map. And all this because you wanted to find out more about a little girl. Yup.
Story aside, however, her growths are above average but her handicap is that she can get RNG screwed. Sure, she'll only need a fire tome - but she starts with an Elfire. Which means she doesn't even come with an item she should be using. Not only that, her HP is so low that in the off chance she gets hit in the beginning she'll die fairly quickly so you have no choice but to wall and feed her....
So yeah, my boy Pent is looking pretty good isn't he :3
KibaNoTsubasa Erk is such a mediocre mage. Pent is good. Nino requires babying. If your squad is only has a couple good units, then I guess she's worth it. Pent would be the best mage, imo. Comes with the ability to use physic staves too.

How can you call the only unit capable of wielding anima-magic before promotion for the first 60-70% of the game bad? In addition to that, it’s a unit that can be trained in the prologue and has insane availability, and also comes with a 40% magic growth and a 50% speed growth.
Erk is not mediocre, he is amazing. Having an anima user in Hector hard mode capable of doubling those extremely tough cavaliers and armor knights in the early to mid-game is very useful. Sure, Pent might be better once he rolls around, but he does join rather late.
Mangs With Lyn mode he would probably be good. But without it he comes with 7 base speed and has bad support options. Then you get Lucius in 2 or 3 chapters later with 10 base speed and superior offense and supports. The lightning tome helps Erk, but without Lyn mode I find him very mediocre.
