Dream Team was my introduction to the series. Ever since then I’ve been a fan. I didn’t manage to play the first 3 but thanks to the remakes and Dragoncon I finally did and now we’re finally back with a new game and I can’t be more happier to see them together again
I actually did really like Paper Jam. Sure it didn’t have an interesting story or characters but for me the most important thing in games are the gameplay, and Paper Jam felt really fun to play

I also believe that Paper Jam's battle and exploration mechanics were the series' best, but I'd much prefer it if they put what they learned from that game into this new game with all new characters and a new story because those elements are important to me personally.
I hope they make a new villain that is continuous like how they did with Fawful in the first 3 games, like in superstar saga they made him the sidekick to cackletta, then in the second game partners in time he is seen underground where he sells stuff to the babies and is plotting his revenge, and in the 3rd game he is the main villain who u have to stop before he lets the dark star become active
I started with Paper jam 5 years ago and haven’t looked back since. I’ve played through every variation of every M&L game and I can’t express the joy I felt seeing a new one come after so long. They thought it wasn’t possible, but we had hope! Long live the Mario and Luigi franchise and its fans!
Same lol exact same backstory! Except I technically played Superstar Saga via online emulators, Paper Jam was the first I actually owned and finished like 5 years ago!
Same here , wish I got the chance as well. My fav and my first was Mario and luigi inside bowsers story the classic one. Brings so much memories, it was so good that I just had to get the remake one and it did not disappoint.
I start the series with partners in time and it was all my favorite game of that saga is sad that Alphadream and Charles martinet is not gonna appear anymore here😢
I remember all the time I spent playing Partners in Time as a kid and how much I loved that game. Still my favorite title in the whole series alongside Superstar Saga and Bowser's inside Story. I'm sooo so glad they actually brought the series back! 😁

Im guessing Intelligent Systems will be making the new M&L since Alpha Dream has been defunct. It would only make sense since intelligent systems made the paper mario games and also helped with the development of Paper Jam.
I really like the simplistic hand-drawn/pencil-like artstyle they have in this series an I'm glad we can finally see it in in-game and in HD, not just in box arts and trailers.

You could also be thinking about the OG Super Mario RPG, that was 1996. Very similar graphics and gameplay to Superstar Saga, just with a noticeable lack of Luigi.
Started with Dream Team (would constantly play the demo since my brother wouldn’t let me play on his DreamTeam 3DS XL) and later bought all the games for myself… can’t wait to play Brothership!
We finally got a new Mario and Luigi game after all this time.
Hopefully it will be better than Paper Jam Bros and as good as Dream Team

Bowser's Inside Story was my childhood adventure. I'm glad you got to experience that in another form.

Kevin's RPG luigi voice is pretty close, especially to the 3ds era voice, mario still needs some work
I was thinking the same thing, Luigi sounds like Luigi, but Mario sounds WAY off.
It's funny because in Wonder, Luigi sounds closer to the GBA and DS games

The new enemies of the game look like the robots fawful made in bowsers inside story, they might touch on thay detail

They are just trailers, trailers from 2010 onwards are easy to find. Everything else is usually difficult to find, as few trailers have been archived
