YAY more of the Five!!! I've missed James and Nikola so much. added bonus Nigel and John :D - I hope we get to learn more about Nigel in the future: I like him :) ~T're
Helen: ''You should know we deal with monsters,'' French resistance leader : ''I deal with Nazis, I'd say we're even.'' Lots of great banters in this episode!!
I haven't watched the episode yet, but i have been looking forward to it so i just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! And btw: their german sounds so funny. They are actually pretty good, way better then other english speaking actors but still :D:D LivHanna thank you so much!!
True. I always wondered if she thought nothing had actually happened to herself and was initially letdown that she didn't seem to have some obvious ability manifest after the injection. While it was quite painful for her, pain itself is no guarantee of actual change; could have simply indicated resistance/damage to her body instead.
Fantastic episode - I love sanctuary - thanks for posting - 6.55 secs just where where they hiding those machine guns? :-) the guy with the pink glasses had a really bad German accent didn't he?
I noticed that recently whenever they use references from 1x07 "The Five", they switch out "your mother" for "Helen". Make sense, though. I wonder if Nigel had a relationship with the French Resistence Leader. Maybe she's the one he had Anna with in the 50's? Quite possible. :)
Yes, I know that. I'm saying that to Nigel Griffin still looking like a man in his forties during WWII is a major flaw. Considering he would be in his nineties or so, and he doesn't even have longevity. So, they should have amended the story a little in terms of the Griffin family tree.
To be fair, the show never specifically said that Griffin died of old age; viewers assumed that. All the was said was he died in the early 1960s (at least 16 years later), and he wrote Helen a letter telling her about Anna before his death. He could have died from illness instead.
XD 1:45 "You are not from there". No, he definitely isn't! But neither is the other guy! I have to admit though that their german is a lot better than in most of the other tv shows. (*Lex Luthor - Smallville) (Sry, my english sucks too.)
Officer: "As you know, General Eisenhower's orders are to shoot you if you try and get on a plane, not that it would really stop you, you being a vampire and all." Tesla: "Tssss, bad coffee, English food, and worse, stuck here with the Kansas State Glee-Club." Thumbs up for more Tesla episodes and/or a Tesla spin-off
Man all this German is awesome - while every professor of English I've seen fawns over how much Latin-like English is, I'm personally proud that at the very core English is Germanic (German sounds way cooler than Latin anyway).
What THE HELL JOHN? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? FIRST THE EMPATHS AND NOW THIS? It's like, every time Druitt shows up I hate him, then he makes me love him again. I can't win. I give up.
The question I ask myself, she had a bottle of wine from Churchill on D Day, but now she was in Normandy, which is somehow in the series does not make sense ...
The bottle of wine was a 'thank you' gift from Churchill to Helen for her actions during the events of D-Day (Normandy landings). The episode starts during the afternoon of June 5th, 1944 and continues through the night into the morning of June 6th when the landings were launched at 6AM. Both she and Watson stopped the fire elemental from being released on the Normandy coastline, which allowed the landings to be successful. Had they failed, the entire area would have been wiped out and burned to a crisp.
And again with the timeless Sanctuary cliche of "You start taking your clothes off and I kiss and start a non-meaningful relationship with you!" Normally it's only Will who is subject to this cliche, but apparently French Girl also comes under it. Huh.
OMG! I'm usually very forgiving when it comes to Druitt's past mistakes, but doing that to his best friend is just wrong... possessed by elemental or not!
@@MsLoopyLoops Correct. The first mention was in episode 3x06 - "Animus" when Tesla was playing with the Holomap just before he caused it to send out an EMP knocking out the power to the Old City Sanctuary.
...having listened to the commentary on the DVD for this episode, I am struck by the contradiction between the producers expressed concern for respect and accuracy in portraying the events of the time, and the attribution of the cracking of the Enigma code to the character Tesla. Every time I watch this episode of a series I really love, I find myself really irked by this misrepresentation. It strikes me as a shocking misjudgement. It totally ignores the real life efforts and achievement of firstly, the Poles and subsequently the people at Bletchley Park, including Alan Turing. I wonder if those involved have seen the recent film of Turings life, and if they have, whether that choice has come back to haunt them..
Nigel Griffin isn't supposed to still be alive at this point. He didn't get longevity. I think having Nigel here is a major flaw in the script. They could have said that this guy was Nigel's son. That would have made a lot more sense.
At the very beginning of the episode is a recap sequence showing footage and playing audio from many previous episodes for the purpose of providing backstory for this flashback episode which involves The Five's history during June 5th and 6th, 1944 in the Normandy region of France.
Amanda Tapping wore a wig that was a dark shade of red for this episode (set photos show the color a lot better). Unfortunately, a dark/dull grayish filter was applied to the footage which made the color change practically pointless; the filter made the color look like more like a sun-faded shade of brunette instead.
1:33 Der Herr Major himself speaks an odd kind of German, so much I can tell as sümeone using the language every day. Der Schauspieler ist einwandfrei kein Muttersprachler gewesen. 7:03 I know the CAFE NORMANDY from COMPAY OF HEROES great scenario in an exellent computer game :)
Like so many others, thanks for posting "Sanctuary, tv series."

I can't wait till this season comes out on DVD. I have the feeling the commentary on this episode is going to be so much fun to listen to.
Fantastic episode - I love sanctuary - thanks for posting
everytime I hear or see our old german history, I get goosebumps.
it seems magnus would have to had waited like 25 years to find out she wasnt ageing, everyone else knew right away after injecting the vampire blood

@LivHanna Prosze bardzo!! :) I'm just so glad you put these clips here. Sanctuary is not shown in this country :(
"Do I have to paint him a picture?!"
thanks for posting
Ok, no wonder Watson was still bitter and pissed at Druitt in Revelations... o.o
But gotta love the episode cause it has all of The Five in it!
@TearsOfMorganLeFay
I wondered about this as well, maybe they will connect it later in the episode somehow
Thanksfor posting. LOVED IT!
Soooo excited!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Tesla and his alcohol... I love him.

I wonder what John would’ve done if he had captured Helen and not James.🤔
lol the German accent. In the first minute i didn't understand that they speak my language :D
Was there not an episode this week? Memorial Day probably.
garmischparten-kirchen is only 3 kilometers from grainau xDD
maybe he should said a different locality :D
♥ Nikola ♥
so Helen magnus was one of the original league of extraordinary gentlemen?

Turing cracked the Enigma, not Tesla
I think this is the second time theyve attributed it to Tesla. It's disrespecting Turings achievement.
@@MsLoopyLoops Correct. The first mention was in episode 3x06 - "Animus" when Tesla was playing with the Holomap just before he caused it to send out an EMP knocking out the power to the Old City Sanctuary.
Of course. I only meant having Nigel alive at this point IN HISTORY doesn't make sense, given what we know about the abilities of the Five.
Davis385 thats what i was wondering
To HAVE Nigel Griffin still looking like a man in his forties... That's what I meant to say.

@StarSancFar Don't worry your not the only one :)
she has hathor hair!
i don't get it? she says previously but this wasn't in episode 16 was it?

Accprding to previous ep Griffin died in the early 1960's
Well, like Mina, she's involved with vampires.
@crowskyler Sounds like an Austrian accent to me.
That's too bad that the writers messed up with this SL, as Nigel shouldn't be this young.
why would watson have controls that cause him excrutiating pain?
They are adjustment knobs to control flow rate, etc..
@@SpiritHawk7 I waited 9 years for this ?!
@@mlongpre100 Lol, sorry for the long wait. I hope it was worth it? XD
@Blingdaa86 Dzieki! I vice versa! :D:D
@LivHanna She has red hair? Everything looks black and white to me... her hair looks black...

OMG lol I´m from germany and well, their german has a really funny accent , NOBODY speaks here like that . It was REALLY hard to understand them .....
You realize this episode isnt present time right -_-'
Retarded is a word often used by ignorant people. Thank you for outing yourself . Wallow in that bliss!!!
