As a Filipino I adore Japan,South Korea and China's house designs simply because they tell a story and comes from tradition. Edit: specifically from the images show in the video.
If we have houses that survive from pre colonial until now, the story would surely quite bloody since it would witness the wars before spanish arrived, the arrival of Magellan, the 333 years of spaniards occupation, the arrival of americans, the arrival of brits, the filipino-american war, world war 1, the arrival of Japanese, the world war 2.

love how for the other countries they showed traditional houses/views then Philippines came in with the most random house designs.😆 If you wanted a close comparison (old/ traditional) feature Vigan's houses (Inspired by Spain) and Batanes (rock houses built to withstand typhoons coz they always have typhoon there as the northern part of the country)
The houses from China, Japan and Korea are traditional ones, very unique in architectural design and date back to thousands of years. The ones from the Philippines are a mix of Spanish to modern era design. Even our spanish era ancestral houses are not unique because these are designed by the Spaniards themselves, and the same design of houses can also be found all over latin american countries where the Spanish had settled during colonial era.

I'd say, you have more chances of seeing tsinay and tsinoy than meztizos, all thanks to Chinese migrantion to the country prior to the Spanish arrival. The reason why we have Spanish surnames is because the Spaniards let us use their own surnames begging in the 1700s ( probably because we don't have one ) so it'd be easier to identify us and we could be given access to legal transactions such as land titles, which needed identification. Next is the language, actually we had our own language pre-spanish colonization called Baybayin and other local dialects. Correct me if am wrong but only the Baybayin is we have evidence of the language the Filipinos use orally and written prior to Spanish arrival. We got colonized for over 300 years so we kind of have many borrowed Spanish words, particularly the use of Spanish numbers. It's the same of other Spanish colonized countries in South America, and Caribbean Island countries. Lastly, if you ask me which Spanish colonized countries have people that are closely resemble to Spaniards? It'd be Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia. If you Google how the locals look in these countries and compare em to Filipinos you'd see they look very different to us, they can pass for Spanish locals, but we look more Indonesian or Bruneian.
