Unfortunately the art community is littered with pronoun weirdos, which sucks because I love art. The upside is that a similarly large percentage of artists dedicate their work to the male gaze and woke culture can't control that (hopefully it stays that way). I like to reside in that camp and contribute to it.

It's the oldest and largest annual tabletop game convention started by Gygax in 1968, used to be an add and contact information in the back of practically every TSR product back when both were more or less still his, hard to imagine you could possibly not know what it was if you were a D&D player old enough to have played the game in the 1970s, 1980s, and probably 1990s, or even just had some of the original rule books.

Gary Gygax was one of the best things that ever happened to Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and gaming (be it tabletop or videogames). I'm happy that those who corrupted his legacy are getting kicked out.
It may be too little too late, but it is always a start to build back up. I love the sci-fi genre since the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s.

Though I have to say: There is no need to "portray" these people as bigots. They literally are textbook definition bigots. They are in absolutely undying love with the word, but never ever look it up, despite me trying to get just one of these guys to do so for over a decade at this point. They have their own narrow-minded view of the world and try to get rid of everyone who does not adhere to it. They have no tolerance for any deviation from their dogma. There was a few other points for firing such as misuse of funds for personal use (Emily says her family depended on her position at Gencon - either the salary from the position or the ability to hand out nepotism contracts) and hiring guest speakers that does not draw a crowd.

About five years back, one girl in the Gen Con leadership wrote a blog saying that players should play characters that are minorities, etc., so while this is a positive development, so the rot probably still goes all the way to the top.

I have hundreds of books, mostly space opera/epic fantasy, on my goodreads read shelf. Yet i always get recommended books for 40 year old housewives, teenage girls or a left leaning audience. Amazon does that to me as well. It was a nightmare trying to find new books to read outside of the popular classics like Dune or the wheel of time when i first started out. Im glad to see these people losing power across entertainment.
