    If your not doing it already I strongly suggest that you keep that cover waxed. I use Turtle wax Ice spray wax which will protect the cover from the UV rays of the sun. Eventually the Lexan cover material will deteriorate and then start cracking. The wax will greatly extend the useful life of the cover. Mine is a Retrax cover and even keeping it waxed it just started getting some cracks and that Lexan is as thin as paper. 8 or 9 years sounds about right if you keep it waxed.

      303 works great at protecting the cover.

    Very informative review with a perfect level of detail. Almost looks new after 4 years. Considering this for my new Silverado 3500HD. Thanks.

    Just ordered the "Gator MT Tonneau Cover" for $10 more hope it is the same if not better at keeping the water out. The one you have looks & sounds great.

      I still love mine. Without a doubt the handiest and best-looking cover I have ever had.

    How is it with keeping the bed dry on rainy days?

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  4 года назад +4

      It does really good. With a normal downpour no water inside the bed, if it is very high winds there might be some find its way in.

    Question? What the difference is between the Gator Trax, Gator Recoil and the GatorTrax MX ?

    • @scottgoldfarb95
      @scottgoldfarb95 Год назад

      The Trax is plastic. The recoil doesn't have a key lock so it is only operable by lowering the tailgate to access the latch. The MX is aluminum
      Edit: the recoil is also aluminum

    i think this is an excellent product but my truck bed is 5' I can't sacrifice the room.

    They say it holds upto 400lbs evenly distributed.

      I haven't stacked anything on mine but yes they say that. I think that is only for the Aluminum version so if you get one and want to put stuff on top get the aluminum.
