1 1/2 cups Whiskey
2 cups Ketchup
1 Tbs molasses
2 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Tsp onion powder
1 tsp wortchestire sauce
Dab of mustard
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups maple syrup
1/2 lemon
Med high heat
Pot 1/2 off burner
Constantly stir

Great looking sauce. I would put the jars in boiling water to disinfect them. Heating the lids softens the rubber seal so they may seal better. whatever works , I guess. Thanks for this recipe and your presentation. Merry Christmas.

The amount vinegar will take care of any bacteria on top of the dishwasher...I’ve canned for years so I know.

One piece of advice, double the recipe. I made some a few days ago and with family here for Christmas, I gave out a few sample tastes and next thing I know, small Mason jars where being filled and there was none left for me.
Also, do not turn your back on it for a second.

Nope. As long as you cook the whiskey out you won’t notice it standing out, it blends well with all the other ingredients. Thanks for the support and watching
How long will it last be for it gose bad?
Sorry to answer so late. As long as it in a sealed mason jar you can go months possibly a year. Unsealed jar will still last a few months refrigerated.

No. It would taste completely different. I don’t drink alcohol at all, however, I do cook with it. Once it’s the thickness I show you all the alcohol is cooked out and that beautiful Bourbon flavor come through. Thanks for the support and comment.

I am going to make one change however. Instead of bourbon I shall use this rum from Jamaica. I also am making my own vanilla extract with the same rum.
Question: how to store this , in the refrigerator or in the root cellar..?

As long as the can or bottle is sealed you can store for several months no problem. After you open then I would give it a month, this sauce has a long self life. I’ve gone 6 months before with it sealed, but I state 3 to be safe. Rum will be a unique twist on it, I haven’t developed a Rum one, maybe I’ll make some modifications and try it.
