James Newton Howard's music will forever live in my heart. His way of working with melody and harmony is just amazing. When I hear those amazing juicy harmonies and delicate melodic phrases I just get blown away. He is spectacular!
I was there! The first time I've ever been to Hollywood in Vienna and it was AMAZING! Cannot wait until next year where I will make the second of what is surely to become an annual pilgrimage to this remarkable and beautiful event!!! I hope British Airways don't lose my luggage again though. Lol

Or the night before there is the concert only, which is an exact copy of what you see on here simply minus the award ceremony. James Newton Howard was at both of them so you don't miss much by going to the concert the night before. The concert (no award) tickets were up to €110 each, the gala concert and prize evening were around €180 each. I travelled from England to see this concert and the flights, hotel and tickets were all very affordable. If you can get there......DO IT! I can't recommend it enough!

My favorite scores of him are "Hidalgo", "Maleficent", "Waterworld", "The last airbender", "Signs", "The village", "Peter pan", "The lady in the water", "King Kong", "Dinosaur" and "Atlantis: The lost empire", but specially his collaboration in the franchise of "The hunger games" I expect to hear his next works like "The huntsman: Winter´s war" and "Fantastics beasts and where to find them"

you should really change that :D Bad fantasy and sci-fi movies almost always have a great score..Airbender, Jupiter Ascending, Star Wars I-3 (though I like the movies, but their reputation is obviously not the best), Maleficent, the Huntsman-films, Gods Of Egypt, The Hobbit, Lady in the Water and so many more

It's incredible how "The Last Airbender" was a terrible movie, but the soundtrack was one of the bests of the 2000-2010 decade. Probably if the Last Airbender were a Good movie, James Newton Howard would got an oscar

What is the problem of Hollywood in Vienna with Howard Shore? In six years they never have played any theme from the Godfather of the soundtracks: The Lord of the Rings. Or the LOTR soundtrack is too much for them?
The entire second half of the 2010 Hollywood in Vienna concert was dedicated to Howard Shore (they played a 25min LotR Suite, for example), who was there in person, received the Max Steiner Award and afterwards he even conducted "In Dreams" himself.. so, I guess they don't really have a problem with him ;)
The way this woman, Edita sings this song is hauntingly beautiful while conveying darkness.She's very seductive how she sings this song. The costume is perfect, She is far superior to Jennifer Lawrence who really doesn't sing.

I can never get tired of listening to his work. It just always touch my soul so deeply even though I have listened to them for more than 10 times
The Pretty Woman addition is a nice touch- I've always thought it was a shame that score never got released.
