I bought this snare - when I first tried it in the store I was amazed at how wide a tuning range it has . The projection and articulation is amazing . I have used this as my main snare on live gigs .
I'm surprised how phat it sounds, not only at a low tuning range but also at the higher end. That combination of a wooden shell, die cast hoops and the smaller diameter make for a rich depth of sound.

I was very skeptical of this size in theory but it totally slaps at all ranges.

Gretsch sure has been putting out some absolutely amazing snare drums
This sounds like an actual isolate studio drum track from a perfect album!
Nice snare, mental price.
Very, my entire drum set cost fifty dollars more than this snare. (Excluding cymbals)
Pleasantly surprised. Cheers!
A wonderful instrument!
Just recently discovered this channel and love it! I wonder what some muffling on the head with the very low tuning would sound like.
has a nice swampy-ness at very low tunings. and also sounds great at high tunings. take or leave the low and medium tunings.
This snare sounds great 👍🏼
Dang
There's nothing that Gretsch makes that isn't quality, 12 inch snares just aren't my thing. Love y'alls demos.
Is it made of ash or would that be too tongue in cheek
Woah. I'm starting to get why 12x7 is a fad.
Ot bad .
Too much personality on a snare drum
