first of all let me appreciate you for choosing good topics for your videos In this video I would like to make 2 points. I use nitrogen in my car tyres too ( I use my car for mostly in-city drives) 1) I don't think filling nitrogen makes car Tyre pressure more sustainable than filling normal air. I have observed Nitrogen can also leak and result in tyre pressure decrease. Yes, it is less frequent than normal air filled tyres. With Nitrogen, I usually get air pressure difference after 2+ months; with normal air 3-4weeks is the frequency (distance travelled is comparable in both cases) 2) Filling Nitrogen may not result in more mileage, but definitely improves tyre life, there are many proofs available in public domain. Heavy load vehicles should definitely use nitrogen or dry air to increase safety. Also I would like to make a correction (imo), simply increase of tyre pressure by a few points does not cause tyre bursts, any tyre we use on vehicles is designed to sustain pressure much much more than the usual desired 30-33psi. The usual accidents due to tyre burst are caused due to poor condition of tyres or over loading of vehicles.
Fuel saving is due to correct tyre pressure being maintained and hence avoiding frictional losses due to low pressure. Safety is also increased because of proper required friction due to tyre not expanding in hot temperatures. Nice video! Hope more Nitrogen stations come up.
Thanks for the details. Nitrogen is future air for tyres. Nitrogen is free in Delhi. I have been using it since past 2 years now. Once filled you forget it for 2-3 months. after 3 months there may be a decrease of 1 or 2 points only... It keeps tyres cool in comparison to normal air. It is cleaner alternative than dirty air which can have cohesive gases as well and can destroy tubes and tyres.
Agree with this video. I am using nitrogen since 2013. I do many long distance driving and average drive 1000-1200 kms in a single day. Have done many Bangalore-Mumbai, Bangalore-Nagpur trips in one day, and also Mumbai-Jaipur. I also visit my home town which is 2300 kms one way and the round trip isaround 4800-5000 kms. I rarely have to check tyre pressure even on long drives with high speed driving. One top up goes for months together. Main benefit I see is that in summer seasons (Rajasthan/MP/UP) also the tyres do not heat up even after driving hours and hours at high speed.
If possible, please do a video on factory fitted tyres . why do car companies give different branded tyres for the same model in different batches. For example my Elite i20 came shod with Michelin while the i20 in this video has apollo tyres. While purchasing a vehicle, can we opt for a tyre brand of our choice out of all the brands used by the manufacturer on a particular model?
mesreeram I don't think so. Car manufacturers tie up with tyre manufacturers as it benefits both of them. Tyre people get bulk sale and car people get volume discount, helping both get a better deal. Reason why tyre brands vary while purchase is that car manufacturers tie up with many tyre manufacturers based in manufacture capability, delivery and discounts. That's why you may get different tyre at different times. If you don't want the factory fitted tyres, you can get them changed while taking delivery, or immediately after deliver and sell your factory fitted tyres. The showroom doesn't have any role in this as they don't get any spare tyres. Usually cars come with lower quality factory tyres to keep their cost low and help them sell their car.
Please study gas laws. If you fill nitrogen and drive, it does not mean that nitrogen do not expand. With temprature rise every gas expands, it is pure science and no logic to deny it. If any scientific explaination is there, please share. Ask any science student that what is PV= nRT

Sir, i will give u one disadvantage. First time I was top up nitrogen gas . Disadvantage for nitrogen gas, ur tire will be light n break will not work properly. I alway drive in fast in city and sometime highway .i believe one thing break will work properly

I too own a polo 1.2, remapping ECU will respond better in turbo charged cars. in MPI engine it will not make any noticable diff. and will also void d warrenty
Mai appne tires me pichale 6 salo se nitrogen bhawra raha hu. Aaj tak ₹60 se jada kahi nahi dena para. Aur ye mai multiple states, multiple cities ki bat kar raha hu. Meri highway running jada hai so air heat hota hai but nitrogen tires comparability kum heat hote hai. Jiska city running hai, it doesn't make any difference. Eventhough appka city running 200 Kms roz ka hai but u stop every 5 to 10 kms so nitrogen makes no difference apart from appki tyre pressure check karwane ki frequency thori kum hogi...

Your information regarding nitrogen is 100% correct but it has been seen world over even BBC topgear program has carried out detailed testing and found nitrogen sold mostly is not pure hence doesn't make sense unless up most care is taken by the shop from where it's procured. Please do a temperature check video nitrogen vs regular air.

Gagan ji, I am Abhisar Mohan Srivastava lives in varanasi. varanasi is a good & huge city but a slight disadvantage related to city is that due to hugeness so much gathering is here and the roads are very rough & dirty, so using nitrogen gas in tyres are efficient on rough surface always having fear to about tyres getting puncture & destroy.
Hello Gagan, Myself Sarthak, from Bangalore. I'm your follower and I like your videos very much I own a Elite i20 Asta (o) Petrol variant where in i have one doubt in its lighting system. Assume light is off For the first turn from lighting switch wakes up the normal lights second turn will switch off the normal lights and wakes up fog lamps. third turn will switch of fog and wakes up the normal lights again just wanted to know is there any difference in the first and third option.
i accept nitrogen is much better than oxygen if compared to hotter region..but tyre pressure is much more than that atmospheric pressure ..so if any case it will leak to atmosphere if there is a path...leak u cannot control with any gas under the tyre is pressurised ..it will release and try to stabilise...pure mass transfer take place
i think when u fill nitrogen tyre become more bumpy n cushning effect get reduce in some amout and u can actully feel that while ur driving in city areas other than that ther is no adverse effect of nitrogn

Nitrogen Isnt Beneficial For Winters..and its lasts 1 month max ..otherwise tyre pressure will be below recommended and depends upon running of the car..

I have been using Nitrogen in my tyres for the last two year and its true that you don't have to get it checked for 8 to 10 months as it doesn't expand or contract. I am sharing my personal experience.
मैने नाइट्रोजन को बजाज की इलैक्ट्रिक स्कूटी में डलवाया जिसकी टॉप स्पीड 50 थी, उसकी स्पीड 53 - 54 किमी. घंटा बढ़ गई थी। नाइट्रोजन फिल्ड टायर का एयर प्रेशर जल्दी से कम नहीं होता और बार बार पेट्रोल पंप नहीं जाना पड़ता और नॉर्मल एयर से टायर कम ज्यादा प्रैशर से सस्पेंशन पर बुरा प्रभाव पड़ता है, वो नहीं पड़ता इसलिए पैसा तो बचता है।
HI bro.. Very nicely made and informative video,, I want to highlight about calibration status of air filling stations (air pressure gauge).. Are they correct.. They never match at different places... I have Baleno petrol, when I get it serviced at Maruti service station and they fill 29 psi as per manufacturer's guide. But after 15-20 days, I visit a petrol pump for air pressure check and re-filling, it shows more than 40 psi on meter/display (even for spare Tyre which usually remains unused) ,, and automatic air filling pump reduces it to set point of 29 psi.. I doubt whether the calibration of different air-filling pumps.. Whom to trust,, authorized service station, petrol pumps,, or others dealing with tyre or puncture fixing stations..? experiment proved that nitrogen expands more as compared to air when heated ... and even no effect in handling and stability... might be nitrogen good at low wear rate and you r happy with riding 100miles more.. its all market gimic

Gagan ji I am using Suzuki Celerio vxi model and the recommended pressure for front and rare wheel is 36 and 33 psi respectively. After filling with that pressure my car tryre looks like slight over inflammated. So what should the correct pressure for that ?

Sir, pl confirm if Nitrogen really stays for 7-8months in tyres without leaking. For normal conditions, people still have to fill nitrogen every 1-1.5 months due to the loss in pressure which is just slightly more than Oxygen. In Maharashtra, we get an yearly Nitrogen membership for 300-400/-.

I have used extensively both Nitrogen as well as normal air. Not much of a difference. Especially i observed if you fill normal air we get it topped up almost every time we go to petrol pumps. But when you run on nitrogen filled tyres people don't get it topped up just thinking it must not have liked and secondly even topping up will cost at least Rs 10 for each tyres and as a result most of time they run with low tyre pressure with Nitrogen slowly getting leaked which is not good.

You forgot. Nitrogen molecules are bigger as compared to Oxygen, so it tends to escape from the tyre after long long time, since the molecules are bigger in size , they have more cushioning effect which is transferred to the steering wheel resulting in easy driving. Nitrogen contains the heat developed during the friction of tyres especially when you drive on concrete roads, Just saving your tyres from uneven wear. Aeroplanes have been using Nitrogen for more than 10 decades.

सबसे जरूरी बात तो यह कि नाइट्रोजन नॉर्मल एयर से मिक्स हो जाए तो कोई प्रॉब्लम नहीं होती हैं हाँ बस एक छोटा सा इशू क्रिएट होता और वो जिस टायर मे दो एयर मिक्स हैं उसका थोड़ा सा प्रेशर बढ़ जाता हैं जिसके वजह से highways में जब आपकी कार 100 प्लस पर चल रहीं हो तो आपको प्रॉपर balance नहीं मिलेगा और वो भी आप अगर नोटिस कर पाए तो otherwise कोई बहुत बड़ी इफेक्ट नहीं पड़ता हैं हाँ आप बस इतना कर सकते हो कि जितनी जल्दी हो nearby नाइट्रोजन फिलिंग स्टेशन पर जाकर उस टायर की पूरी हवा निकलवा कर recommended प्रेशर का नाइट्रोजन डलवा लीजिए ☺ ☺

Gagan ji, I am Abhisar Mohan Srivastava lives in varanasi. varanasi is a good & huge city but a slight disadvantage related to city is that due to hugeness so much gathering is here and the roads are very rough & dirty, so using nitrogen gas in tyres are efficient on rough surface always having fear to about tyres getting puncture & destroy.

Brother sentifically tested nitrogen preassure rises more than normal air .. and apart from F1 it's best recommended that for normal car air is good

I own a Elite i20 Asta (o) Petrol variant where in i have one doubt in its lighting system.
Assume light is off
For the first turn from lighting switch wakes up the normal lights
second turn will switch off the normal lights and wakes up fog lamps.
third turn will switch of fog and wakes up the normal lights again
just wanted to know is there any difference in the first and third option.
i accept nitrogen is much better than oxygen if compared to hotter region..but tyre pressure is much more than that atmospheric pressure ..so if any case it will leak to atmosphere if there is a path...leak u cannot control with any gas under the tyre is pressurised ..it will release and try to stabilise...pure mass transfer take place

The nly differences i have noticed are less harshness level thru sharp edges of road and less tyre noise
i think when u fill nitrogen tyre become more bumpy n cushning effect get reduce in some amout and u can actully feel that while ur driving in city areas other than that ther is no adverse effect of nitrogn

Nitrogen Isnt Beneficial For Winters..and its lasts 1 month max ..otherwise tyre pressure will be below recommended and depends upon running of the car..

मैने नाइट्रोजन को बजाज की इलैक्ट्रिक स्कूटी में डलवाया जिसकी टॉप स्पीड 50 थी, उसकी स्पीड 53 - 54 किमी. घंटा बढ़ गई थी। नाइट्रोजन फिल्ड टायर का एयर प्रेशर जल्दी से कम नहीं होता और बार बार पेट्रोल पंप नहीं जाना पड़ता और नॉर्मल एयर से टायर कम ज्यादा प्रैशर से सस्पेंशन पर बुरा प्रभाव पड़ता है, वो नहीं पड़ता इसलिए पैसा तो बचता है।

I want to highlight about calibration status of air filling stations (air pressure gauge).. Are they correct.. They never match at different places...
I have Baleno petrol, when I get it serviced at Maruti service station and they fill 29 psi as per manufacturer's guide. But after 15-20 days, I visit a petrol pump for air pressure check and re-filling, it shows more than 40 psi on meter/display (even for spare Tyre which usually remains unused) ,, and automatic air filling pump reduces it to set point of 29 psi..
I doubt whether the calibration of different air-filling pumps.. Whom to trust,, authorized service station, petrol pumps,, or others dealing with tyre or puncture fixing stations..?

experiment proved that nitrogen expands more as compared to air when heated ... and even no effect in handling and stability... might be nitrogen good at low wear rate and you r happy with riding 100miles more.. its all market gimic

1. Is it fine to top-up normal air in Nitrogen filled Tyre if Nitrogen is not available on Pump in emergency?
2. Are tyre air Inflator available online worth buying when tyres are already filled with Nitorgen?

Have been using nitrogen. It costs 10 rupees per tyre in my city. My car has run for 69k+ kms till now but tyres are in excellent condition. But i don't know whether it is because of nitrogen or because of my habit of checking tyre pressure at least once a month.

Gagan ji I am using Suzuki Celerio vxi model and the recommended pressure for front and rare wheel is 36 and 33 psi respectively. After filling with that pressure my car tryre looks like slight over inflammated. So what should the correct pressure for that ?

For normal conditions, people still have to fill nitrogen every 1-1.5 months due to the loss in pressure which is just slightly more than Oxygen.

In case of puncture nitrogen delays the leakage. U can even drive 1000 km s without even realising that there is a nail in the tyre.

I have used extensively both Nitrogen as well as normal air. Not much of a difference. Especially i observed if you fill normal air we get it topped up almost every time we go to petrol pumps. But when you run on nitrogen filled tyres people don't get it topped up just thinking it must not have liked and secondly even topping up will cost at least Rs 10 for each tyres and as a result most of time they run with low tyre pressure with Nitrogen slowly getting leaked which is not good.

You forgot. Nitrogen molecules are bigger as compared to Oxygen, so it tends to escape from the tyre after long long time, since the molecules are bigger in size , they have more cushioning effect which is transferred to the steering wheel resulting in easy driving. Nitrogen contains the heat developed during the friction of tyres especially when you drive on concrete roads, Just saving your tyres from uneven wear. Aeroplanes have been using Nitrogen for more than 10 decades.
