- In this video I let you know if L'Homme Ideal Eau De Parfum from Guerlain is still worth buying in 2023!
Since its release Guerlain's L'Homme Ideal Eau De Parfum has been massively hyped and popular throughout the fragrance community.
The brand says;
Guerlain launched L'Homme Ideal fragrance in 2014.The first reinterpretation called L'Homme Ideal Cologne was introduced in spring 2015 as its invigorating and lighter version. The third flanker, announced as more intense, more sensual and mysterious, L'Homme Idéal Eau de Parfum, comes out in April 2016.
The new fragrance is developed by the Guerlain in-house perfumer Thierry Wasser along with colleague Delphine Jelk. The composition is a woody-oriental, focusing on the almond note covered with leather and Guerlinade vanilla. The opening notes include bergamot, spices and almond. Turkish rose, incense and vanilla are in the heart, while the base consists of sandalwood, leather and tonka.

In all seriousness though, Guerlain has always been a gold standard company in terms of blending artistry and wearability, and L'omme Ideal EDP is a timeless, damned near perfect scent. It's fantastic and stands completely on its own.

I wasn’t feeling this at first but it slowly started to grow on me, I usually use a different fragrance everyday for work but this has been so great for compliments, even during a date night they found it a pleasant scent and they loved it. Lasts for many hours and the spray is so satisfying !! Wish more fragrances had the same one

I have the EDT and was surprised at how smooth and rich that fragrance is! I just received the Platine Privee today and can't wait to wear it tomorrow! This line is indeed a masterpiece!

Good morning, g!! Guerlain has always been a favorite house of mine. They are just timeless. Classic scent profiles with a certain modernity to them. I absolutely love ideal edp. Homme edp by guerlain is awesome as well. Take care my man!!

I was not a fan of sweet perfumes. Now I love it. Since I saw that it has notes of leather and wood, I ordered it blindly. I fell in love, it is my seductive and elegant perfume. For me it is masculine than unisex.

Guerlain is a special house. I ordered this one Monday. I got Extreme first, and glad I did, but had to get this one too. I've never smelled anything like either of them. Of course, I ordered it from Fragnet, and even paid extra for shipping, but in true Fragnet form, it still hasn't shipped so who knows WHEN I'll get it. Maybe by Fall... 🙂

It’s my favorite. In the summer the cherry note comes out and it’s a summer frag for me. The best in the line.

@@gerardgeorge next year buddy. I always thought it was a cold weather fragrance until I wore it in the summer, and I’m talking about 110 degrees. It really shines, which is crazy.
I think the EDP is about as ideal as you can get for a date night fragrance. I still love the regular EDT and I lone the Extreme and L'Intense. All fantastic.
The whole line I agree is great.
Just picked up the Parfum version, the 2024 version. Smells so good.

Heard the parfum Is less strong and doesn't last long. Had the same issue with Chanel parfum. Thought any kind of parfum version was more intense with Better projection etc.
I got this one a few weeks back. Opening is different, but I feel this opened me up to realizing that a scent is really the dry down (what most people will smell) and so many fragrances have similar dry downs. I need to thin my herd. I have way too many of these type dry downs.
I agree dry down is the scent. That’s what matters for sure.

Gerard, Guerlain L'Homme Ideal Eau De Parfum is a terrific fragrance. I love all Guerlain fragrances. The only issues with Guerlain fragrances is that they are hard to find in the USA. If you do not live in a big city, it is hard to find their fragrances to try them. Even when you find a store that sells Guerlain, they usually have only a small collection of their releases. I usually buy their fragrances online and they are bought without trying the fragrance. The great thing about Guerlain is that they only make great fragrances IMO.

I saw a review 2 yrs back from Jeremy Fragrance and i rang one of our 2 major retailers in Aust and fortunately they had 1 bottle left, but as usual in Aust we pay a much higher price for frags so the 100ml set me back $200 AUD. which is about standard, when you said $99 i nearly fell off my chair, technically Gurlain is a niche brand , but its top quality and the cherry note with vanilla is sonething daring that has come together as a great scent classy i wear what i want when i want but coming into summer its been put away as it is an Autumn/ Winter frag.

Guerlain is the house that introduced me to perfumery , my grandmother wore Shalimar& I want to say Mitosoku ( the Progenitor of the gourmands )when she got married , and she kept a bottle on her vanity, My grandfather wore Vetiver casually and LIDGE for nights out...LIDGE original formulation being a showstopper of a fragrance..so when I found the Ideal line , I had finally found the Guerlain for me , I started with Cologne ( the most classy freshie EVER) went to the EDT and then got EDP and Intense ,unlike the other houses that do clothing their expertise lies in perfumery ,and they have mastery of vanilla, bergamot and tonka ,as one of,if not the oldest perfume housesGuerlain has always been a
cut above the rest and the class,and craftsmanship shows in every creation of the House, the French know what's up with them they can hang with the Chanels & Diors ...

I dropped in to my favourite stink shop an had a squirt of Ideal homme Extremely, an put that up against Tom Ford, Layton Exclusive.
It’s dried down to a fantastic powdery elegant an adult scent.
I’ll be ordering this one an Layton later.

I'm with you, I think this is a 10/10 for me. I have the Ideal Cologne as well, which has a grapefruit note instead of the cherry. Both are incredible. Mancera's Aoud Lemon Mint has some almond in the opening and starts out with a resemblance to the EDP/Cologne DNA, but then changes to do its own thing. That's the closest I've found to anything close to the Ideal line. So glad I have it!

Guerlain are nice quality perfumes, I have and use shalimar,leur bleu,lhomme ideal,tobacco honey, cherry oud,rose barbare,neroli outrenoir.
Tobacco honey sounds nice I haven’t heard of some of those before.
Even it's sweet, i think it feels really light, almost a bit fresh in the air.

I managed to get one last year and it felt so gourmand and unique that I polished off the whole bottle. LOL
The most recent one is great but not THAT great IMHO. Reformulations suck.

The bottle you're holding looks a darker brown but the bottle on the right corner is a pinkish color? Which is the better one?
The bottle I'm holding is the more accurate representation of the juice color. The corner photo is just a marketing photo and colors arent always accurate.
Guerlain fragrances are timeless. Oldschool ? You could say for mature persons, but not oldschool. Classy 😉 If you stumble around them, have a look at the scents of the AllSaints Line. 🙂
I've tried a few and absolutely love them.
IF this has been reformulated I still get about 7 hours on my 2J01 (September 2022 batch). It still smells amazing on me. I don't have an older bottle to compare it with however

Been rocking this since 2018, I’ll never stop wearing this fragrance, too sophisticated to wear casually ( you’d be wasting it) only when you look nice should you wear this .
Like others have said .. this is a niche quality fragrance wrapped in a designer package and price.

I like to wear it smart casual as I have other fragrances I can wear if I wish to dress it up. Obviously don't wear this in a tracksuit or joggers but I wear this with a clean polo, with a cardigan on top, paired with a good set of jeans and a nice pair of shoes 👌
The bottles with the color bands are the preformulation. The new formulation I find is less fizzy and more latexy in the opening.

@@Silvio_TFnot a placebo at all. They are indeed different, and I know it first hand, since L’homme ideal edp is my signature scent. The new ones, are different and unfortunately weaker. Truth be told, still loving it.

Where did you buy your bottle? It has painted sides (an old batch).
It is the original bottle. I got it in a trade.
Just a note, Ideal Extreme doesn't have cherry. It has plum. It also has tobacco, cinnamon and leather (the EDP also has leather). Just off that, seems to lean a bit more masculine than the EDP, at least to my nose. Yeah, it has heliotrope and patchouli, but EDP has rose and lavender, so...I mean, it's all subjective, but I wouldn't say Extreme leans more feminine than EDP at all. Neither leans feminine, IMHO.
Understandable Jim. I find extreme to be more floral and musky which that combo for me is feminine. I barely detect rose in the EDP. Lots of patchouli.

I went to my storage locker to get another rotation for summer. I counted my Guerlain fragrances. I counted 13 with Ideal Parfum on the way. Got vintage as well. My #1"fragrance house

My first suggestion would be to spray heavier and don't be afraid to do so. By design this is an "airy" scent. Spray clothes. Also if you are spraying skin use an odorless moisturizer first. Even a couple dabs of vasoline behind your ears then spraying the scent on will help!

I think so but its very refined. Not overly sweet. Well balanced.
Only wore this once and was underwhelmed. Poor performance. Soft juice. It’s macerated now two years and hope it got better. Trying it again this fall

I think so. Smells grown up but has some sweet and easy going aspects of it.
I bought Extreme and EDP , EDP they look exactly the shame Black cap Silver sticker and same Package . EDP is a Dark Smoky Leather base perfume , Cherry is very very weak on background and also is very weak overall . Extreme has Fresh opening with sweet base , way different and also way more powerful than EDP.
Its Crazy that people Say Sweet and Cherry on EDP... NO WAY NO WAY
Mine is nice and when I tried Extreme it was a little too perfumey for my tastes.
