@@husna.inaayah in my understanding no, i think "to taste" means that you can adjust the amount you put in, but not entirely leave it out of the recipe
plantzels prets to taste, from my understanding, is probably add as much as you require. Use it, cause it will help it taste better. But use it as much as your tastebuds prefer it.
the salt in japan is not salty actually thats a fact so you need to put more than what you usually do

Same here, I just want to make my friends and family happy. I feel like cooking is a really cute and fun act to do with a future spouse or friends, and I’d like to cook meals like this to bring a smile to my loved ones :)

For me it takes 20-30 minutes to make something similar to this (even with some chicken in it). The most difficult part of this dish is rice.

I do this for my mother! Mine doesn't look nearly as good as yours and my cooking skills aren't quite there yet, but I make bento and other lunches for mum to eat for work. I know it's normally the other way around, but she's always so busy with work and she gets home late so she's tired. So, after I finish my homework, I always make lunch for her and I. On the weekends though, she makes desserts for me so I can bring to lunch as they don't perish so easily.

same, haha, i always bring Bento and eat it alone in my class because no one do it like me, they would rather buy fast food or bubble tea for their lunch and they always admire me and my cooking skill but i'm pretty shy when everyone all staring at my bento, though
Aha i hate when that happens like. I wouldnt mind it if only my few friends wants some but if everyone wants some and most might take more than one bite.. What am i gonna eat then? Then should i bring enough food for everyone? But i cant afford it cuz living with a budget.. I mean, im no longer in high school but already working, so budget is quite tight and i wish people understand that sometimes.. :(

@@victoriahm299 i feel you sis, this literally happens every single time I bring lunch to school, suddenly everyone's necks are turned towards my lunch box and I feel as if I'm in a zombie movie, so I wonder is it really that weird to bring lunch every morning, it makes me feel so uncomfortable bc im a germphobic or I wouldn't mind sharing with with some people, but it's not normal to share food with others every single day either >.< I wish there was a law against asking people for their food

You can do it in a rice cooker ;-)
Honestly, 99% of the time, they use a rice cooker in Japan. Makes flawless rice and you can usually use them for other things (like steaming eggs, dim sum, etc). Well worth the investment.

Update: I tried making this and I guess made it like the video, but I wasn't much of a "greens" kind of gal so uhh, the greens we're kind of too much for me--, but it was really tastey

I meant I don’t like how other most parents can’t make make lunch to their kids instead eat bad junk food in early age. For me i even make my husband lunch instead of buying fast food because it’s bad for you. Unless we are on low budget... but I’m any way we barely eat fast food.

I was just thinking that's a ton of rice for one bento but it's for 2-3 people. I've made omurice before and it's super filling. I've made the mistake of trying to finish servings that big by myself TnT
I wish I'd put more effort into my lunches when I was in school. I used to just skip lunch or eat bread. I try to make time for myself to cook now. It's a real treat to eat something nice like this.
