This unit is the first strand in the UK development tree and it is worth saying that it perfectly characterizes the next two cars. This means that if you can play Churchill I World of Tanks, then the next two vehicles will be familiar to you, since the gameplay on them will be almost identical.
We will begin our close acquaintance with this Briton with the fact that he has a good safety margin by TT-5 standards, and is also capable of surprising the enemy with a basic viewing range of 350 meters, which is also worthy of respect.
From the point of view of survivability, our unit is a controversial specimen, but there is something to talk about here, since there are plenty of various nuances. Let's start with the fact that Churchill I's turret front armor characteristics will impress few people, there are no slopes here, and 89 millimeters can be penetrated by all classmates and even many fours.
The frontal projection of the body is more interesting and full of surprises for inexperienced players. Here the Churchill I heavy tank has a weak NLD, which can be penetrated by everyone. The upper armor plate, painted yellow, has a reduced thickness of about 110 millimeters, which is also far from perfect.

The fact is that there is no more than 89 millimeters on the sides, but the area around this very gun is 178 millimeters thick, so sometimes you can even tank a shot from a level seven enemy, but this is more of a happy accident.
In addition, the Churchill I World of Tanks has a hull located immediately behind the front rollers, which means that by shooting here, the enemy will most likely cause damage to us. You should get used to this now, since on the next two strands along the branch this problem remains, the roller needs to be hidden.
As for the side projection, of course, the Churchill I tank can easily penetrate here at a right angle, but if you tighten the hull well and hide the vulnerable front roller, you can tank even sevens well, but you will still be penetrated into the turret.
However, the main problem of this heavy aircraft is not the armor, but the performance characteristics. First of all, let’s pay attention to the fact that the Churchill I’s gun has not the largest among its classmates, but it has quite a decent alpha strike, but our rate of fire is somewhat lower than we would like, which is why we get about 1,700 units of damage per minute, which is quite a short.
At the same time, among the heavies of the fifth level, the Churchill I tank World of Tanks received some of the best penetration indicators, thanks to which we can fight even with sixes without any special difficulties, but in the battles at the bottom of the list you will still have to use sub-calibers, so carry at least 20 with you gold shells.
Continuing the parade of the vehicle's strengths, it is worth noting that the Churchill I heavy tank has enviable accuracy parameters. We have a good spread, fairly fast aiming, and due to poor mobility, there are practically no problems even with stabilization.

Оставил его только из-за топовой пушки на голдовом снаряде...пробивает всё и вся не надо даже выцеливать...особенно японских тяжей 5-6 уровней шьёт на ура...

Крепкий середнячок, танк иногда показывает чудеса танкования, а так конечно ничего выдающегося. А дальше ещё хуже...
Броня ужасна. Корпус конечно прикольный, можно танковать бортами и бывает стреляют по гусеницам без урона за которыми брони нет, но зачем стрелять в корпус, если есть здоровый квадрат на башне куда удобно пробивать, и который ничего не танкует(пробите многих 4 лвл больше тех 90 мм в башне), соответственно танковать на нём почти нереально, необходимо играть от союзников или от глупости противников. Получаем танк который не едет и не танкует, но хотя бы пушка норм. Ещё неплохой вариант орудия как на Черчиль 3, более 2к дпм, но пробитие меньше, хотя играбельно, но иза башни этот дпм трудно реализовать
