I want to pass this on. A woman in Arkansas recommended growing Hungarian Heart tomatoes that do well in the heat. First year growing them in Memphis zone 7. The best harvest I’ve ever had. Tomatoes are sweet huge meaty heirloom and very productive. From Baker Creek Seeds. I’m probably only going to grow them and Brandywine next year. The largest ones were around 1 lb 11 oz. and starting at .5-.8 lb. They are great slicers and meaty for canning. 😊 love your videos and information. Recently bought and used Mainstays jars for canning. You’re right about being lowest price. 😉 Worked great!

I'd say plant what yall like eating the best. I guess I'll have an August /September garden! My first garden was destroyed,my second try is doing good,squash and beans about to bloom,tomato plants growing overnight,cucumbers and basil growing. I have picked tomatoes before in October up to the first frost,so it will be good.
That’s great! I wondered if your second garden was going well, because I remember you said the first one was a no go. To be honest, I think a “summer” garden in the fall is a lot better sometimes. Seems like we have less pest pressure when we do it that way.
we got a pretty good rain Sunday night early Monday. I was way late planting so as soon as they started the drought started I never watered and thinks to the fungus and straw they took it real good. like you I got a lot of tomatoes, peppers,and squash. I planted okra and bush beans just before the rain. I give almost all my produce to my helper and tell her to give what she don't want to someone she doesn't know and tell them she was blessed and wants to pass it on. I guess you figured out I like to talk I would plant corn i don't like the other. lol
We are extremely hot and dry up here in Pa. too. Lots of green beans, tomatoes are just starting to ripen, cucumbers pretty good, the problem are our peppers, not producing at all. 😅
lol exact opposite here. The peppers won’t stop! I ended up with 4 huge baskets of tomatoes off of these 11 plants. It’s really become a zoo out here but we’re blessed!
Girl you need to grow “Beit Alpha “ cucumbers. They self pollinate 🤩. That way you can grow them with your beans. They make great fresh eating or pickles and they never are bitter. Even in the heat. I’m in central Oklahoma and grow them vigorously 🤩🤩
Believe it or not, we have that variety planted on our “wall” of tomatoes at the bottom. They’ve done well, I must say! These in the video are straight 8’s from the local feed store.
My little garden is producing, but it is definitely somewhat stressed in the high heat, even though I water. We've had practically no rain for the last month. My biggest problem is that the pole beans I planted around the second week of May are big & lush, but I've never gotten bloom one. I've never grown beans before, so I don't know if this is normal or not. Will they eventually bloom, or is it too late?
Pole beans are usually around 75 days, so you still have a little time yet to see some blooms. What variety did you plant? Fingers crossed you get the best harvest ever! I know it’s tough in this heat. We are physically drained here.
@@harmonhomestead7434 I can't find the bean packet to tell what kind of pole beans I planted, but I do know they were Kentucky something. Thanks so much for your response. It has given me hope that I might get some beans yet!

I'm in Missouri,pepper plants not hardly growing this year. Everything else is good though.
