    practicalpreppers.com/product...
    The Multi Function Tent Dragon is the World's first multi option tent stove offering efficient re-burning of the wood gases (clean, secondary gasification) to insure a clean burn and low fuel use. This is the first with multiple application tent stove providing high fire power frying, low fire power simmering, baking, grilling, heating water and heating in one unit!
    This translates to the first clean burning portable tent stove that was not only designed for low emissions and low fuel use, but for multiple cooking functions. But that's only the beginning of this amazing new tent stove. For starters you notice the tent firebox features a glass window to view and enjoy the flame and a bake oven viewing glass. It gets better.
    This portable unit has folding legs, that retract and fold under stove for a compact footprint for easy transportation. The stove has an adjustable primary ventilation dampner on firebox door and 2 rows of continuous steady state secondary ventilation positioned at the top of the firebox. A small aluminum baking pan pan is easily accessible slipped below the firebox grate for easy ash disposal.
    The 11 gauge heavy steel (1/8") cooktop has a traditional 5 & 7/8" round cooktop cut out for high firepower frying, boiling, and woking for use inside or outside the tent. A larger rectangle cut out in the cook top allows the 7 & 3/4" x 10 & 1/2" grill insert (included) to be used when bed of embers are established to grill outside the tent. The oven rack is the grill rack and stores inside the oven when transporting along with the additional oven baking pan.
    The right rear of the stove has a 10 & 1/2" wide x 9 & 1/4" x 7" tall baking oven. A removable 2 quart / 2 Liter capacity stainless steel hot water tank with brass spigot is mounted to the rear of the left . An additional 12 & 1/2 x 6" deep food or bun support rack rests above the hot water tank.
    6 sections of chimney come with the stove with a spark arrester on top. First photo shows stove displayed with only 5 sections due to showroom ceiling height. The chimney extends 89 & 5/8" above stove's cooktop surface.
    In summary, the Multi Dragon provides more options than any other tent stove on the planet, if performs the following functions:
    * Space Heating (Includes 6 Stainless Steel Chimney Sections)
    * Bakes (Viewing Glass and Temperature Gauge on Oven Door)
    * Boil, Fry, or Wok (High Firepower Cooktop Cutout)
    * Low Firepower Cooking (Reverse Rectangle Cut-out)
    * Outdoor Grilling, with Grill Rack
    * Provides Hot Water (2 Quart / 2 Liter Capacity Stainless Steel Water Tank)
    * Viewing Glass and Primary Ventilation Dampner Control on Firebox Door
    * Steady State Secondary Ventilation Insuring Efficient Clean Combustion
    * Sustainable Clean Burning Combustion & Utilizes Minimal Fuel
    * Portable Tent Stove Package Cooktop is 11 Heavy Gauge Steel to Insure Long Stove Life

      @@wildflower746 Look into the Nomad stove, an alternative to the G-stove which seems to be available in the UK. It has a 3 liter water thing with a spigot, and a folding oven that folds flat. There is also a backpacking Tent stove made of lightweight Titanium that weighs around 2 pounds. One review I saw of the Nomad had a discount code for 5% off, that never expires. and free shipping in the US and Canada I believe.
      Guy kept saying this was "portable" but never said how much it weighed. The Nomad stove only is about 20 pounds and has a carry bag about the size of a duffel bag.
      I am not sure what size of room these would be able to heat up. May depend on the outside temp and the insulation.
      Edit: oops you already ordered. Never mind then

    Love the stove design and seems to be a fair price. But, 50 lbs is a bit much for a fly out or pack stove. Would work great for a base camp with vehicle access. I was getting pretty excited before the let down.

  • @RobertReno1

    How warm does the stovepipe get? Would it be warm enough for something like another inline chimney oven attachment (bake pies, make bread, etc.) or perhaps REALLY make this thing more efficient and add a heat reclaimer? or add both? or even coil some brass tubing around it for a lot more hot water for bathing, cleaning, and so on? Just looking for a way to make it as efficient as possible. Thanks!

    I know I always like to complicate things, so without further ado:
    (1) Since you have some good land there, do you think it would be possible to grow a crop of some form of grass that can be compressed into logs or pellets and used as fuel for that stove? It would be interesting to see how well you could do per unit area.
    (2) Could you design a stove that runs on pyrolysis gases, and saves the charcoal for later use as fuel. I wonder how much more complicated it would be to engineer that?
    (3) Could you design a compact pyrolysis electric generator that could feed power to a hotplate/stove? I'm thinking this would be the ultimate, since you'd get charcoal, the ability to manufacture liquid hydrocarbons, and power various devices.
    (4) For any of these options, it would be great if you could use the exhaust heat to distill water.

      verify the chimney was made for wood fire and not just gas ... if it is not made for wood ... then it will have to be redone and that is EXPENSIVE to retrofit ... better never to install a gas fireplace as they are basically useless for anything but heat ... a wood fire place is always good for cooking in on or in front of .. and with a fire box insert they make excellent house heaters and cook stoves ... as well

      Put a couple big rocks on top of stove for heat storage. It makes a huge difference. Be careful not to get some rock too hot or will bust. I have a couple small pieces of rebar that i put the rocks on so they not directly on top. Gives me another 1-2 hours of heat which equals sleep lol

      Yes, Thumbs Way Up for 'Cylinder Stove's products.. We have the mid-size 'Hunter', and Love it.. Just got their 'on-stack' Oven, and can't wait to try it out. But, for 'straight cooking', I can see this Dragon oven being a better 'combo design', and keeping smoke down is a great feature ('specially important in any Bear country.. :)

    • @0623kaboom
      @0623kaboom 6 лет назад +6

      heat rocks ... lava rocks .. a big honking pot of water with lid .. a full side water can full ... an oven safe pot with lid also can retain heat so a 8 hour overnight heat source should not be a trouble ...as for the fire box if you use hardwood before calling it a night and close it down it should provide heat for about 6 hours and then add radiant heat while it cools down and anything that was left on it to provide extra heat plus the water tank cool down should make the heat last a minimum of 8hours.

      If you look at the larger expedition tents at Cabella's, for example, you'll see that the tent floors are designed with a removable rectangle under the roof vent so that bare earth is under the stove. If you're going to use this kind of stove in a tent you'll need the roof vent anyway (and probably an extra roof layer for spark suppression) so you could cut out and stitch reinforce the edges of a rectangle for your stove. Might also think about a fire extinguisher near the stove just in case.

    Reading the comments, people are so quick to pull this thing to pieces. Ok its a stove, it has an oven (which can be filled with thermal mass for extending heating time), its all round OK, the metal probably isn't too thick as its a portable model but it should last if you take care of it. it has a bit of a gimmick'y water heater that doesn't seem to get the water exactly "hot hot" but meh, you can always throw a pan of water on the pot heater. All in all it seems a good product, I don't have a link to anything that would better suit so I shall just call it a good video :D. If anyone wants to complain or pull the product down, please feel free do do so AND add links to a product you think is superior :D

    Wow, love this! Btw, do you think the Biolite stoves with fan & usb charger are a serious option for short term off-grid cooking and device charging?

      Noel Biolote takes a lot of fuel and time. Better to use solar and a battery bank.

      @yonihales9133 6 лет назад

      Noel thats what I own and yes. with pellets it burns for 1 1/2 hours and it gets HOT fast and will not smoke at all as long as the wood is dry and shortly after the innitial light. though I am looking for something as good with a 6 hr burn time

      @yonihales9133 6 лет назад

      the charging puts out maybe 1 amp which is something after 1 1/2 hrs it only gives a 20% increase on my phone. but it will almost burn you out of a tent trust me it gets HOT

      John Hales, BioLite has the Base Camp model. It's quite a bit more substantial and features a constant feed door. If your fuel can fit through it, you can keep it lit by pushing the logs as they burn.
      Around $300 and available at select Lowe's.

    • @billbrasky6827

      You can add it to almost any tent. You need a "stove jack". Plenty of videos on how to do it. A carbon monoxide detector is always a good idea.

      Why not do like I did 35 years ago and build yourself a 30 gallon Wood Burning Water Heater !

      NO Links - My 30 gallon Wood Burning Water Heater originally started it's life as an Antique , free standing , Stove Oil Burning Water Heater . I removed the bottom pan and all of the Stove Oil burning apparatus . These old Oil burning Water Heaters have a couple of features that make them very adaptable to WOOD Burning - 1) The central flue pipe through the tank is of a heavy gauge metal (won't burn out) , and 2) The central flue pipe has heat radiating fins protruding from it into the tank . Next , after removing the outer wrap & insulation , using an Angle Grinder & Carborundom Cutting Blade , I carefully cut off the bowl shaped bottom of a discarded 30 gallon gas water heater . Next , I drove the bowl shaped end into the bottom of the Oil Burning Water Heater with the concavity facing inwards . Again using the Grinder I cut a piece out of the side of the discarded unit to give me at least a one inch overlap on all sides of the opening on the Oil Burning Water Heater , welded on Hinges , fabricated a Latch for the door , and installed in the middle of the door an old Cast Iron Draft from a burned out antique Pot Belly Wood Stove . I insulated the water portion of my water heater with a double layer of Fiberglass Insulation and a sheetmetal wrapper to protect the Fiberglass . My Wood Burning Water Heater is outdoors on a good FIREPROOF base and atleast 18 inches from any combustables ( walls , etc. ) . I made absolutely certain to install a PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE in the top of the tank , it would be VERY EASY to accidently create a STEAM BOMB . I hooked up the Wood Burning Water Heater the same as for any other type of water heater . With the tank full of water , a few handfulls of firewood , and about 20 minutes time and there is plenty of HOT Water . -- DISCLAIMER: This is the way I did it . I absolutely will NOT assume any liability for ANYONE copying my methods . YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK !
      Special Note: If you are seriously interested in having a Wood Burning Water Heater , I have seen NEW, Manufactured, Wood Burning Water Heaters selling down in MEXICO . This was about 20 years ago, so it might be worth investigating .

    When you're pushing the costs to $300-400, it's a lot easier to come up with all kinds of great ideas. (I'm not against Silverfire, I have a Super Dragon.) Once you get into that kind of budget, you can put together a number of ways to cook, heat the space, insulate against heat loss, all while you promote flag, apple pie and Mom. Has anyone held a design competition for solutions to the set of problems the Tent Dragon is supposed to address?

      I bought it only for the 2ndary burn to avoid smoke.. and it smokes like crazy. I may be doing something wrong, but they have the stainless steel version now and it was $700. Wish I would r just doubled that and bought a regular wood burning stove. No directions for cleaning, needs constantly fed, and though well built, it weighs over 75#’s. Not happy

      DT T54 - check the door fitting. Mine arrived and the door didn’t fit correctly so it wouldn’t have worked properly. Make sure the rope seal is in contact all the way round. If it isn’t the latch might need bending flatter to squeeze the door closed.
