Great video mate showing the true value of solar this time of year, I found the same disappointment in the south east of Kent. So I’ve switched to an EV tariff, I now charge my batteries over night 2-6 on a cheap tariff. However it cost more in the daytime if you pull from the grid. I have full control tho so can turn overnight charging on or off depending on the weather
You know what you’re doing, so why are you watching my silly videos 😆 At the moment we’re on a ‘cheap’ fixed tariff. But when things change we will certainly look, like yourself, at utilising the battery on a cheap time slot. Hope it doesn’t turn into a juggling act though. As most of the time I’m happy to leave it to it’s own devises.
It's amazing how much cloud affects solar output ! We're in Oz and the minute cloud is in the sky we are running the generator to make up for the lack of grid feed in ........ another 10 years and technology will have solved the problems of only a very small proportion of the light ( uv and ir are at this time excluded from our panels, ) will be solved and everyone will be desperately trying to leave the grid as it falls apart around us from abandonment issues
Yeah I didn’t realise just how much clouds effected output. On a ‘bad’ day the system is almost useless. I say almost, as it’s still doing something I guess. And who knows what the future holds. What we do know is that tech is always quickly evolving. So a breakthrough in energy storage and very high panel efficiency is bound to happen at some point. But for now, we’ve got what we’ve got.

Very interesting information.
Glad you think so!
Lets pray for sunny days and rainy nights
That would be perfect for a Solar array wouldn’t it.
@@highly-spirited And the garden!
