      My first was dull brown, I walked to buy sand paper and paint because I didn't want anyone to see me riding a brown bike. I took it apart, sanded it down and painted it bright yellow then white handlebar tape. When I was old enough to work (at 12) from my first check I got a white Avocet saddle and it looked like a million dollar bike.

    I had a second hand yellow Bianchi, very similar to this, about 10+ years ago, probably longer, but the headtube splayed out and I couldn't get the headset to seat properly, plus being a Bianchi it was quite a stretched geometry, so I let it go. It was a real mongral of Shimano and Campag parts! Not my doing, but watching this made me a bit nostalgic!

    • @mrrodriguezHLP
      @mrrodriguezHLP Год назад +1

      I’m a Campagnolo fan, and they are really good at archiving their old manuals, so I get torque settings from their website. Modern mainstream frame makers will have torque setting in downloadable manuals as well. Old stuff, gets tricky. I was told the goal is to make sure it’s safely on without damaging anything. You use a torque wrench to make sure you’re not going overboard.

    Hi there, I've got a Bianchi ML3 and the aluminium on the frame have oxidised and some paint peeled off. How would you restore it ? Would patch spray painting be a good idea or just get rid of the oxidised part and polish with protection ?

    • @Bikespeeds
      @Bikespeeds  3 года назад

      It would be very much frame and corrosion specific. “Personally” I love patina so wouldn’t spray a frame, but that depends on the level of the restoration. I’d probably use a self etching primer and a touch up with a brush. If your not a professional or confident with a spray gun, spraying will always show.

    This is a strange version of bike. Group and components are from 2000 as you can see on the Campagnolo's labels and ergos. In 1998/1999 Mirage levers were made by aluminium. Only in 2000 were in Plastic. But the frame is from '98 (look the label on the fork, and the seat post clamp) painted in color available in 2000.... You can notice looking at the steering set. Threaded. In 2000 all frames from Bianchi were with ahead set.
    And last just a suggestion: correct pronunciation is Bianki not Bianci. Nice work at all.
