Dude, I would love a mainline sonic game with this team involved for all consoles. The gameplay and cutscenes. It has the potential to be comedic but serious when needed.

The POLISH, and quality level is cracked. Level and game design is EVERYTHING I’ve wanted a 3D sonic game to be. And when my only real critiques are “I wish it wasn’t apple exclusive, and the voice direction for Rouge and Cream needed better” those aren’t critiques of the game itself, and that is WILD to finally say about a Sonic game. Can’t wait to start playing!
Sonic Dream Team looks to be hella fun and definatlly has a lot of effort put into it compared to the other mobile games. The animations are super good and they make the characters look and feel alive and the story seems to be a fun lol adventure. The level design too from the gameplay Ive seen looks unironaclly very intresting so all theses definatlly make me want to pick up the game for sure. Just harmless fun

From the sounds of it, it honestly feels like sega's attempt to make Sonic more into a 3d collect-a-thon but obviously with the sonic spice put into it. Unironically how I how would have expected a 3d sonic to be like in the early 2000s competing with the big boy Mario. No alternate gameplay style bs like Unleashed Werehoog or treasure hunt etc. Just a solid 3d sonic game that's fun to run through and replay. I wish the console games were more like this instead lol. Just overall a good time.
This game is like a playable IDW mini-arc, if that makes sense. Like, it's a lighthearted little adventure with cool character interactions and fun setpieces.
Question from a physics nitpicker: How does the wall-running work? If you slow down too much do you fall off of the wall, or is it like Lost World where it merely shifts your gravity to the new surface?

Cant believe the best animated Sonic game is an Apple Arcade Exclusive. Hopefully, the game gets enough positive reception to be able to adapt what's in Dream Team in the next mainline title
I played it for an hour and damn it this really reminded me of SA2 + Frontiers and Gens/Unleashed Boost Formula. My instincts really wanted to stomp but I remembered that its a mobile game. Overall, I did not expect it to be this good yet there's still so much more to look forward to moving forward. Hopefully they branch it out to different platforms but that's all my thoughts on it.
This game looks like it's almost a mini-retake of Lost World plus calling back to team mechanics of the likes of Heroes character types or Sonic Advance character gimmicks. If you could switch in the middle of doing stuff, even if it might break levels, the chain of flying to gliding to a light speed dash sounds awesome for high octane sequences! I think the switching in general looks like my favorite part of the game. While it sucks I can't play it, I'm glad it's as nice as it is for a mobile game.

Sonic Dream Team is spiritually a Sonic Adventure title. It makes Superstars look like a fraud. Superstars was rushed in production and unimaginable. Dream Team could had gave added pressure to Super Mario Bros Wonder... as if to open Nintendo's eyes to craft a full 3d Mario title passed Odyssey. Dream Team is getting post launch DLC soon as well. Heh mario wonder is great but Sonic Dream Team is slept on
from what you’re describing, this game could use some more Sonic Heroes mechanics. Say you could pick a preset of characters( Sonic, Rouge, Cream for example) and at a press of a button you could swap between them. I think that could help with the flow you described.
Looks fun! This reminds me a lot of Mario Run, a solid game you could complete pretty quickly with some bonus content here and there for unlocking stuff. I hope they add more to it as time goes on, seems like a great model for adding new levels and cosmetics to unlock!
The reason sonic dream Team looks so good animation wise is cause it has a high budget for a mobile game specifically thus it's a game far smaller in scale compared to Frontiers Sonic Dream Team is on a way smaller scale is way more sufficiently funded for its scale, Dev Team size and Dev time where as Frontiers while good is definitely significantly less well funded for its scale, Dev Team size and Dev time and thus underfunded Thus Dream Team has way more time on its hands to focus on making the animation the best it could be where we Frontiers didn't have that kind of time and money for it's Scale But yeah they cooked! My only big gripe is Rouge's and Cream's voice arnt great or is poor voice direction Ps sorry for the long reply lol
I hope that this game puts Hardlight... in a good light (ba dum tss) for SEGA/Sonicteam, I think if they can work in a proper console game without the mobile limitations, and maybe together with Sonicteam itself, they can make something amazing! Even Prime Rouge hit the right points in a Rouge role, without going too far like past Rouge voicelines. I can accept this but it doesn't mean that this is good. Cream now.....LIKE WHO IS THIS?!
