Kickstarter is full of awesome projects and the ones found in this video are not too bad either... the problem is... they already exist and are available cheaper on places such as Aliexpress, Alibaba, TEMU and WISH.
Turns out all ya gotta do is find some cool, unique product, but it in bulk (to get it cheaper) and then rebrand it and make a snazy campaign and video on Kickstarter & IndieGoGo aaaaaaaaand voila... as long as nobody finds out, ya just became a millionaire... or something
This video could become a new series in itself at this rate. let me know if you like this and maybe i will do a part 2, 3... etc

Ironic ad
I love how the intro of the video just describes the ad itself
hey mate, quick question, if I close the tab to watch one of the suggested videos in a new one... does that count as click trough or does that affect you negatively, if it does I need to change that habit O_O
You know your viewers love a bit of backgammon, don't you?
I love that everything from Bespoke Post looks just like the Father's Day Gift Idea shelf at every big box retailer lol
I like that the sponsor is a loot crate that ships AliExpress slop at an inflated rate on a subscription basis
I laughed out loud when that happened in the video
Man had to make money lol
Really shows the quality of what you're watching.
It has the le funny bespoke meme name tho
@@blackhatfreakYou can get paid by ethical companies too. And it's not like he doesn't have his ad revenue and Patreon money too.
Nothing makes me want to skip a sponsor more than the words "free to play" or "monthly subscription service".
If they are advertising on YT or podcasts, I probably don't want their products or services.
Sponsorblock is your friend.
@@medes5597but they're integrated into the content. The content creators make it part of their video
Dokkan battle dragged me in brudda. No money spent but.....
If they say its free but still advertise it it’s probably not, because where would they get the money to advertise without it being a 100% loss?
I think the commercial claim of Temu "shopping like a billionaire" secretly means having a CO2 footprint like a billionaire
"CO2 footprint" is a scam unit. While peeps are running around inflating its importance, countries trade it between them for real money (or other benefits).
Well billionaires also exploit people barely able to scrape by in a shitty work environment in order to drive down costs. So it's probably a pretty accurate tagline.
If Temu is what it's like to shop like a billionaire, I'm happy to just shop for my real income class.
@@jakerockznoodles I don't see why you call them out, considering you do, too.
Or did you ever stop to really think what the pay for those people manufacturing your clothes and other cheap crap you buy was really like?
"Nine times out of ten it's a terrible knockoff of what it's supposed to be."
Dan, I don't think you're doing these Temu sponsorships right.
Or doing them just right
I'm surprised people don't search if kickstarter products already exist more often. I always do, as I expect that even if the kickstarter is genuine, there's a slim chance they didn't do their research to see that someone else made the products (or something similar) before.
The funny thing is since Shein and Temu became a thing, AliExpress has been increasing their shipping speed due to both of the former shipping out their items at a normal US delivery date. Now, Ali proudly states which sellers send out their items in less than two weeks. 😂
*spends the first 2 minutes of the video shitting on items from Alibaba, Aliexpress and TEMU, then sponsor segment for a company that gets all of its items from Alibaba, Aliexpress and TEMU*
not the same really... ali temu wherent the ones scamming people.
it was people who basically drop shipped using said companies.
@@miciso666But its the same thing...
Did someone in RUclips do a review on Bespoke Post and found out it's all stuff from Aliexpress and such or something?
@@EarthboundXo. Although that'd be a good video if true
nnah but they're from "american companies" ...who buy from china lol
Now thats a power move. Does a whole video about people marking up cheap aliexpress etc. Stuff and gets a sponsership from somebody selling wgat looks like cheap tat from aliexpress massively marked up. 😂
Family gotta eat; don’t disrespect the hustle and all that stuff, I guess. 😁
@@TomJacobWAside from the ad revenue and Patreon, you can still get paid while also working with ethical companies. So many RUclipsrs don't seem to get this.
@@PXAbstractioneh. I’ve yet to see one that does heavy sponsorships on RUclips that’s ethical besides games like raid. At the very least you do get a game and you aren’t paying anything. And plenty of RUclipsrs who don’t have patreon get sponser offers, as well as RUclips’s absolutely bonkers ass broken demonetization system. It’s not as easy to get money on RUclips as you’re making it seem in the comments.
im LITERALLY wearing two separate fire starting bracelets, right now, both were acquired for about a dollar each at Walgreens. one even has a compass and a whistle built into it, the other is just a plain paracord bracelet with a fire starter as the clasp.
Expecting to be lost in the woods sometime soon?
@@gbresaleking naah, they looked cool, and i like the patterns make when the sparks fly, lol though i DO know how to properly use it should the need arise.....i mainly use them to pretend to be a wizard. on the occasion i actually use them, its the paracord that comes in more handy than the sparker being able to quickly jerry rig a tie down in a moments notice is really useful when hauling things around.
@@stapuft$1 to look like a wizard makes me want to drive to Walgreens
The funny thing about KickStarter stealing from Alibaba is the fact the name comes from the story ali-baba & the 40 thieves. Get the irony.
The problem is most of these companies are run like most zoomers act, with zero self-awareness. And like most things in the modern era I just point and laugh.
Massdrop does (did?) exactly the same thing - took pre-order money to place an order of slightly modified tech from factories in China. They were taking slightly less money than retail, but in turn got the products at "big order" factory prices.
The only reason no one cried "scam" is because they were open about this business model...
Man, I really love your KickStarter/KickScammers series. Some of the best stuff on RUclips. You get entertained but also learn a little something new in each video. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve binge-watched that entire playlist. I hope you can cover more lame Christmas KickStarters when December rolls around. Thanks for the awesome content.
Slope is definitely a saleout with that sponsorship
Chavs sporting Blackberries… Now that’s pure nostalgia!
Aladdin must be falling on hard times with the genie if he's giving people faulty products.
Wrong one of the One Thousand One Nights. -Actually "Aladdin's Wonderful Lamp" and "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" weren't even in the original collection of tales from the Silk Road.-
I've seen very interesting things related to all of this, unraveled other interesting stories personally and actually have taken advantage of things to do proper business with items that were forgotten about after the kickstarter.
Are you just getting started, shopify is a second choice
This is what Tommy should have done. Way easier than getting away with a scam console!
There is a certain irony in using the word stolen in reference to Chinese vendors being victims of sort when we consider which nation has the greatest reputation for IP theft.
When we produce a massive proportion of our goods on that side of the world on the cheap, I'm not sure what we should expect.
I have found that buying things like acrylic stands, coin cases, brushes and phone cases for unpopular phones that I have had no real issues but I wouldn't be expecting to get a good quality version of say an anime figure or electronics
Seeing Vyce Echo as producer makes me smile. Luv ya Vike 😂😂😂😂
❤❤
A lot of ads on Twitter are getting community notes pointing out that their products are exactly bought from AliExpress and being resold for more.
12:36 anyone who've ever been outdoors can tell that they had a crap tonne of lighter fluid to make that shot work.
I've Actually gotten some Killer Deals on WISH years ago; Like USB Game controllers for $1.00, then when they look good, go back and buy @ Bundle Pricing for Projects
I haven't Signed up for Temu yet... Something seems Shady, I wasn't an AliBaba fan either back in the day
Or, as we call it..."Drop shipping with extra steps!"
I just found one today the 270W Zeus charger it's on Kickstarter and Indiegogo However it's on Aliexpress as a 300W Charger I'm guessing they just lower the spec just not to sound the same
Isn't it usually the other way around though? Someone comes up with a neat idea and tries to fund it via Kickstarter, and Chinese companies start selling knock-offs on Ali and Wish before the Kickstarter's even over.
That should be the sequel
I have no experience with any of the sites in this video's title. However, I have seen crazy ideas with games. Like, who would predict that an official Monster Rancher game, would be a game that's a crossover for the TV show of "Ultraman"? Awhile back, I saw this insane crossover game, and I had to buy it. Monster Rancher, Ultraman, those two things have nothing to do with each other. Yet, someone had that crazy idea for a crossover, and made it a real game, not a rumor nor fan project. Heck, that weird crossover even tried to work Ultraman (the character) into Monster Rancher's lore in that game
Japanese Mobile games have all kinds of crazy crossovers these days. I don't think anything will top freaking _Katy Parry and Ariana Grande_ as four different units (based on costumes from different music videos) each in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius though.
It was also the only new MR game in YEARS and one of the best in the series to boot imo
man, the disembodied voice of Tommy Talerico sure hates that zipper
They should just hire slopes in catching these scammers
Where is Kickstarter to pre-vet these projects? How come the intelligence agencies cannot find these people? The money has to go in to a bank account, right? Kickstarter rejected me in launching a simple legit project. That made me very very cross. Maybe Kickstarter are in on these scams and splitting the cash?
Though I could never prove it that last part definitely sounds true. When there's this many scams and they go pretty much unpunished yeah I'd say they're in on it.
11:04 That is some bull honky! What the fudge?
I used those sorts of sites if I need something very specific that I can't find at other places. Generally it's some sort of component for a project.
Interesting video, dude. Thanks for explaining how this stuff works- I understand much more now.
I have a vague memory of coming across a site like this when I was much younger, but it gave me the creeps with how…odd? It was.
I've noticed this going on for years myself It was a shock how many people seem to be oblivious to it. Pisses me off a bit in a different way as I'm about to launch a product that's all original and I think it ruins my odds a bit as people are constantly getting ripped off. when you are genuinely a inventor of something and you need to putting skin in the game while taking all the risk hoping it can launch successfully.
If you're getting your stuff made in China you'll find your product sold by them before you'll receive your first batch.
pretty much all the stuff i have bought from AliExpress or Banggood has arrived and been exactly what it said... maybe i just have better luck
I've never actually ordered off one of these sites
massive props to you my friend
It’s a mixed bag on wish. Mainly a bag of s*** but every now and then they actually deliver. Functionally AND actually. 😅
Ditto
@@AcornElectron I got a couple of stuff Pokemon dolls for my niece from Alli which turn out all right
I mean I used them a lot when I lived in South America, luckily America has lots of more reliable and decent online stores
I buy regularly from Aliexpress, and, overall, I'm really happy with the things I got.
Same here. Arcade stuff on there is really cheap.
Yeah. I bought a super console x pro for only about 45 €, and it's a decent emulation console for the price.@@Tinman45694501
Yes man! Saturday Slopes!
Keep up the good work fella and, as always, stay safe!
Was that "Tommy Tallarico" commenting on the zipper?
Oh, the irony with that sponsor……
Stolen? Not exactly. This is just dropshipping with an extra get rich quick scheme thrown into it; though typically dropshippers will seek out unbranded products that they can brand with a sticker rather than going through the process of getting them branded before shipping, due to logistics and extra costs involved with properly branding things. Even standard dropshipping in of itself is fairly shady, considering they're corner cutting more proper branding practices with lesser alternatives; and this is on top of the typical quality of the product being lesser, considering manufacturing and IP law abuses coming from certain countries. But none of this is really a surprise, people will always find the easy way out, especially when they face next to no backlash for it.
But as always, blame the platform for allowing this kind of horseshit to happen in the first place, especially when there's _zero_ repercussions for doing so, along with the doubling down of the situation when there's also _zero_ consumer protections with a typical boilerplate reasoning that nearly outright tells the consumer to go screw themselves. It amazes me how these platforms still exist, it amazes me how no regulatory body has fined them into oblivion, it amazes me how these same regulatory bodies haven't also gone after the 'businesses' running these kinds of scams, etc. It's sad how the only decent resolution is mass reporting a campaign before it closes, though this is dependent on platform considering there is perpetual crowdfunding out there that acts as a constant revenue stream. If only some regulatory body would recognize these things as scams, and likely tax system abuses (i.e. written off 'business expenses' and whatever the legal term is for when a product flops and is written off, etc.), and put an end to this perpetual hellhole of bullshit.
I can't tell if I'm tripping or what here. I'm wearing around my neck a pair of headphones that reverse as speakers, and sound fine, that I believe I bought from AliBaba (not 100% sure though) back in 2016 (100% sure of that). They sure weren't $150, probably more like $40 with shipping.
The brand has a logo of two reverse-facing lower-case f's. Did someone actually work this out *and* sold them cheap? This is definitely from 7 years ago. I bought them for a festival that I went to that year. I haven't been using them since then, though -- they've been in their case for pretty much since that year.
Honestly, open-back headphones might as well be reverse speaker headphones with all the noise that bleeds out, lol. I have the Skullcandy Crusher Evo's that do this, and for that reason, I don't wear them around others so that I don't bother them.
another really great video, and i bet you'll have plenty of content for this as a series
That's the plan!
Starting off, and I can't wait to find out how many entries are Soulja
Spoilers: none. Guess due to dedicated videos?
I have bought an HDMI Video Capture card from a website like these for cheap a preety long time ago, and was very pleasantly surprised at how good it works. I still have it and it still works great for a cheap item from china
06:08 - Who even is this character!? It kinda looks like Coco Bandicoot but with wrong eye color.
The best of the best gimmick tech that has been around since Jorts
Snrk at the sponsor.
Slope, is that a Hasselhoff t-shirt? sick, i love it.❤ reminds me of the movie Kung fury.
I just got 2 ads on this video - AliExpress and Temu, I kid you not. They are making money even off scam busting videos about their own products….
The algorithm truly is a work of horrific beauty.
In my experience, it really depends on what you order from those sites whether you get something worth what you spent.
Ordering something like kitchen utensils or certain craft kits/supplies for example? Usually totally fine. Maybe not the highest quality, but generally functional and decent.
Ordering simple clothes or accessories, like tee shirts, keychains or drawstring backpacks? Looking at prints or posters? Probably ok, but I recommend looking for customer images to see how the print or build quality is. Also, be aware that any art used may well be stolen from independent artists.
Looking at figurines, or other swag related to a pop culture property? It's almost certainly a knockoff, but you occasionally end up finding ones that still look ok if you do enough digging.
However, if you're looking at anything like elaborate clothing or complex electronics, expect to get something that doesn't look or work anything like what was presented pretty much every time. Basically, if you're going to the site for cheap, simple generic things, you're much more likely to get what you expect. If you're going in expecting to get something fancy for way less than it should cost, you're going to be massively disappointed.
people do that here. drop shipping. ussually double or triple.
one company even impersonated a legit business and told people to eff off. resulting in the original owner getting massive flak and death threats :(
people just annoy the fuck out of me. because all they got is a little slap on the wrist. for basically scamming elderly handicapped and generally idiotic people.
The mifi thing has me interested. I got a device from Verizon and they charge like $300 or $400 for their mifi decices and you just showed you can get one for around $20!? Hmm... i need to look into thaf nore lol.
I think its tea-moo
SGR: making stuff i dont give a hit about entertaining and informative

Daniel, if you ever need goofy american voices for videos, I'm American and my family calls me Dj. So it only makes sense.
Guru Larry's Brother, is that you?
I once did buy something from Ali Express. It was a couple of aux cord adapters. I only got one.😕
Alibaba is a business partner of Ant Group, owner of Sesame Credit. Which in spite of both Ant Group and the Chinese -Communist- Capitalist Party denying it, is directly tied to the social credit system.
Basically just kick starting drop shipping
Headphones that turn Into speakers my turtle beach headset do the same
As do any open-back headphones.
I am very excited for the release of the AmiSlope.
Now someone needs to do a review of one of those Alibaba prefab container houses that are like $2k, lol.
So, Soulja Boy´s consoles are getting a seperate episode?
How can someone steal from a retailer that is already stealing?
Stealing from a thief is still theft regardless.
You can't take a laptop from someone you know is stealing bicycles and expect to get pardoned if you get caught due to this.
I bought few stuff from Allied press because I can't get them normally in my country or it just something I really like. Unfortunately I feel bad because China is far from my country so I'm not helping environment.
11:15 twisted firestarter
Love your videos
I got kick scammed for speaker sunglasses that kinda had a gameboy theme going on. Sounded like shit. My hair kept getting caught in all the loose parts.
Man that is messed up
Was the voice you gave Skye an AI version of Sarah Silverman, specifically as Vanelope from Wreck-It Ralph?
Are you into it
i love aliexpress lol
Its KS time ❤
Does make you think just how many campaigns are on these platforms right now just hawking some cheapo tat
Too many, way, way, way too many.
Everyone knows Google reverse image search exist right?
62 cents...
🎉
Bouq should make car keys
Ngl, I'd use the headphones to rickroll folk
I'm not gonna rake you over the coals for it Slope, but a friendly comment from a SAG-AFTRA producer here - please don't use AI character voices in your videos; they were made without the actors' permission, and it's... essentially what Hollywood is aiming to do to all of their actors going forward. It's one of the reasons they're striking right now; they tried to sneak permissions to use background actors' faces as AI generated doubles in perpetuity in exchange for one day's worth of pay! You probably weren't aware, so just decided to tell you. There's a lot of budding VAs out there that *don't* make millions (87% of SAG-AFTRA makes less than $26k a year off their acting) that would happily do a Vanellope impression for you instead!
Temu ad 😂 ironic
Kickstarter is a scammers dream. Absolutely sod all protection for being ripped off on shoddy products if you even get them in the first place.
Yes people still are annoying on buses with there shit speaker phones playing music
Don’t you have a mirror?
A fool and his money are easily parted. I always remember that episode of X-Men, where Juggernaut robbed a bank and wolverine stealthily slashed the bag open. Then proceeds to say that after Juggy he notices lol
Well I’m not familiar with these websites 😅
More ads than content, unwatchable.
Really hard to feel bad for people whom buy into poorly vetted crowdfunding for tat, it's been a decade since that being a bad idea was common knowledge.
Also, wtf is with that garbage lootcrate knock off company bro? How the mighty have fallen eh?
It's almost like good headphones are designed to be headphones and good speakers are designed to be speakers.😜
I don't get it, why bother with sending out some stuff of your going to steal from all the others anyway?
Slope!
Great video, again my man.
Also
Let’s start a Kickstarter, huh!??! I think it’d be great, well researched, and very successful.
😁
Thanks for educating me not to buy products on the internet from sites only known for selling stuff with deals.
Cool sponsor though 😅
Can't say I'm sad that nearly 2000 people won't actually get a headphone that seems to be specifically designed to be a twat in public spaces.
Your videos are like crack to me
Let's get real: with Temu we've gotten to the point where it's maybe 75% of the price and is WAY cheaper and more worthless
Hmmm
Scammy sponsor despite covering scams, rapid video uploads that makes the channel feel like a content farm, using AI voices despite the unethical nature that literally lead to a strike from actors…
Was Slopes just another illuminaughti situation all along?
Tf are you talking about AI voices?
Where are the AI voices in this video?
Can ge seen as a win-win-win situation. The Kickstarter supporter actually gets the promised product, which is more than with many other Kickstarter projects. The vendors sells more of the product and the guy in the middle earns some money.
