  • We were thrilled to have been invited as guests on Reset by WBEZ Chicago to talk about the significance of Smart Wetlands in addressing the critical issue of agricultural runoff that affects our water sources.
During this segment, our President and Executive Director, Paul Botts, and Senior Environmental Engineer, Jill Kostel, share their expertise on this topic, from how tile-treatment wetlands function to their effectiveness in reducing nutrient loss from farm fields.
As you may know, agricultural runoff is a significant contributor to water pollution, which affects not only our environment but also our health and well-being. Smart Wetlands are designed to filter out pollutants, nutrients, and sediment from agricultural runoff, and thus, are an innovative, natural, and sustainable solution to this issue.
At The Wetlands Initiative, we are committed to restoring wetlands in the Midwest region of the United States, and our team has been working tirelessly to promote and implement Smart Wetlands to protect our environment and improve water quality.
