Thanks for sharing this David - in these "warmer" (allegedly) UK summer months, how many bags of ice is required to get this down to about 10C (if you've tried). And with the top on, will it keep cold enough for a couple days (if out of the sun)? worried I'll be buying a couple big bags of ice every day and not v keen on that. thanks!
I’ve tried numerous bags of ice and find it does very little to reduce the temperature. Best option is to regularly clean it out and use fresh water. With this pod, you can purchase a chiller for all year ice cold water but I’d imagine that would be expensive to maintain. Fresh water will give you temps around 13-15c. Does the trick. And we don’t have to wait long for much colder temps for free. This pod is much better insulated so for the UK, this is your best option if you want to keep the price down. 👍
I meant expensive to keep running all year round if you wanted ice cold water all the time. I’ve no idea how much they cost to run…but I’d imagine they’re not cheap. 😩
@@LoveWhereYou_Live oh shoot, ye planned to just have them running in the morning before Id want to take the bath, u have any idea how long it takes to cool from hot to cold?
It was just an old pallet and we added old decking boards to the top of the pallet and on the sides. Levelled it up and it was the perfect platform to get into the tub.
No we don’t use anything to sit on. It’s deep enough to just hold yourself from the bottom though. I’m 6’1 and if I sit on the bottom, the water just reaches my chin… if that gives you a better idea 👌
Thank you for the review , I’ve just ordered this one
Hope you enjoy it!
Hello, does the bathtub sometimes have some water outflow or is it completely watertight?
No there has never been any water leaking from the outflow pipes or anywhere on this tub. It is really good build quality and completely watertight.
@@LoveWhereYou_Livethanks man
After 7 months do you feel its worth the upgrade?
Yes definitely worth the upgrade. So much better than the standard ice tubs
Hi does the lid do a good job of keeping bugs out
Yes it does. It clips down with adjustable straps so you can secure it really tight if you wish. We’ve never had any bugs in it.
How to keep clean water please?
I change the water every two weeks, but I also keep chlorine tablets in a floating dispenser which also helps.
@ thanks👌

what did you put underneath it? It looks nice. We got exactly the same slabs in the garden.

Hi David, do you have anything to sit on inside

How do you empty it?
Use the bottom outlet pipe. It has a tap to drain the water.
