I started my first job a few months before my 19th birthday working in the back as a seasonal part time associate. 2 1/2 years later I'm the assistant store manager making almost triple my wage from back then, and everything Dan talks about are things I did. This stuff works.
Be little cautious about No. 5. "sharing your ambition" . Your immediate bosses /Co workers might consider you as a threat and try to screw you up . Better to get guidance from a person working in a different company, in a similar position.
that's why he mentioned that this is applicable for a healthy work environment. A place where immediate bosses see you as a threat is a small boutique company with no place to grow for everyone. We are talking of corporates
*Some jobs are weird, like if you're really good at your job they want to keep you there in lieu of giving you a higher position and replacing you with someone who isn't as good* 💪🌞
I've learned that lesson and its given me the courage to move between jobs, I stayed in a job for 2 years but when I finally got the courage to leave I got a new job in the space of a week that pays almost double. When people realize just how willing you are to leave and that you are in high demand, they will promote your or give you a raise.
To best way to advance in your career is to stop thinking about being promoted (because mostly you won't or it may take years!), instead look for higher positions job in other places and jump from a company to another

This is great. My 17 year old daughter got a job at a new Cream ice creamery franchise that just opened. She likes it. The guy is teaching her. I told her to learn everything as if he would leave and hand her the keys. I forward her this video. Thanks
I am a recently graduated Industrial Engineer, I got my first job as a Quality Intern and i have a certified instructor in the company that who teaches me. Am a Sr Consultant at Capgemini and in next 5 years I dream of becoming a CTO of this or any reputed organization, I have enrolled myself into latest technology and architectural certifications, try my best to perform good at the projects in hand, maintain good relationships with my superiors, what do you suggest I should do to achieve my dream in next 5 years
as per my opinion Dan sir said maintain good relationship is the plus point to take you for success , i like and understand which sir said thank q soooo much its inspiration for me i do follow
I remember seeing an ad about you on Facebook and decided to look deeper into it, found your youtube and was not disappointed. Thank you for allocating this little amount of time you got left in your busy schedule to teach these lessons!
My son just got into the painters union. He really like it but his flustered by the manager. He says he picks on him, doesn't train him properly, Rushes him and makes him work on the other side of the building by himself. It's not the best environment but he's learning a skill.
Great information that is all practical and easily adoptable. One major critique though: You should use gender neutral language when speaking of a hypothetical boss rather than using “he/him” as it generalizes all positions of power as men.
Thanks Dan you’ve done so much for me in seeing the value of wealth generation! Through sales and marketing one can become financial independent and build greatness! Looking forward to working with you 👍
So how to detox a toxic environment OR better how to find a healthy company, a good leader with a vision to make a wonderful career Sifu? Could you make a video about this? (Common guys, rise your thumb up to make it happen)
Great video Mr Lok! In my work I try to figure out what my boss would be thinking and asking me. It usually helps me reach the solution quicker and in turn makes my boss happier!
From my experience the best thing to do is find a company that is actually interested in growing their employees. You can always tell after working there for 3 months. If they are concerned about money all the time, if they exclude lower employees and have no meetings for lower employees. If there is no vision shown to lower employees. And an overall lack of sense of a team, it won’t be a place interested in growing their employees. After that you can follow his advice or just be a hard working ambitious nice person and you’ll go places.
I've been watching Dan for a while now. I'm very happy to see him with a video about the person who is not yet at the entrepreneurial level but is working toward it. Thanks Dan this video is great!
Such EXCELLENT tips on work mindset! I wish the supervisors that I've had were as smart and had the same mindset as what you've taught us in this video! Too many stupidvisors out there, they all NEED to watch this video! THANK YOU!!!
Totally agree with all 7 ways which are extremely helpful to grow in any organization as an employee.. It helps to hold the future in more secured and proactive manner.. Thanks for sharing such a valuable content
I have a question. My manager learned me a lot. He is a good person. Thanks to him I pursue my goals. More in the company I appreciate main director, which ideas and perspective I strongly follow. This man has the power within like no one else that I know. I want him to be my mentor. Being closer to the main director means making my manager going down in the hierarchy, but I owe a lot to him. I am totally confused. What do you think?
If the CEO is the one who manifests platform to be an extension of themselves, then becoming an extention of someone, or many people, will further yourself from being the focus of another's career.
A great thing a man can do, is selectively absorb-from life- well natured things, in to the mind; and to modify their own actions to be well natured - because you don't want to be something worth worrying about. In this way, your words will become fused with awesome complexity, that will not be denied by another's sense of moral judgement.
My experience is that being a valuable problem-solver who owns their work results in superiors being fearful of moving you up leaving a valuable position open causing a cascade of vacancies downward. Corporations have become nearly incapable of promoting from within.
Dan can u give me a job? I relocated to a different city and has been searching a job for past 3 years now but not getting any offers. Even though I try for a low wage job, not getting it. I will be 38 this year with a 2 year old son. I am an accounts person from India. Really getting depressed now what to do???
HEY DAN, LOVED YOUR STUFF. IF ONE IS WORKING IN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PROCESS IN A VERY BIG COMPANY THAN THE PROCESS HE WANTED TO WORK IN WITHIN THAT COMPANY, WHAT TO DO ???????? WAITING FOR REPLY................

I just have some favor from u, if u can share your thoughts on how to deal with different bosses (which i know your the boss 😊). Or maybe different kinds of boss (or related topics). Thanks sifu for contributing your ideas in the world of knowledge. Cheers!!

Some supervisors get intimidated by you the fear of you replacing them so they will keep you down in the same position.
What if I tell you that I can make you higher than your supervisor , how will you fill about that ?
Yes a lot of office politics... this is so sad as some people are so blinded by BIG words
“Is not about Resources, it’s about being Resourceful” deep
what about favoritism and politics.

So, how do you respond in a job interview if they ask you a question related to ambition within the firm for the position which you have applied for?
he said selective ☺️

Not taught in school cuz they want to tame us
Agree. You can only really 'get it' through having the experience
That's why I feed my enemies to demonstrate I am broad minded. Not narrow minded. For them to expand thier thinking.
O my god, i love this guy! He is on the point..
