  • Recently upgraded to a new HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 printer since my 10-year-old printer "bit the dust"! In this video I'll walk through all the main features this printer has to offer. Loving the Instant Ink service by HP as well where the printer automatically orders ink when it gets low. Overall, a great printer that packs a punch for the price! Purchased this one from Sam's Club for $212.

    Thank you. Great video you made of the HP Officejet Pro 9018 printer. I had a HP Photosmart 3310 for over 14 years and last week it did its last printing. Awesome printer! So today I got my new 9018 printer and found your video about it. Thanks again.

    Great review, much more comprehensive than others reviewing similar models (i.e. 9015) I like the loading of the ink, epson's you have to flip the top to access and change, and for select restricted space areas that makes it difficult to replace. I also didn't know it had an auto on/off mode thats huge for helping to save power and reduce extra ambient lighting at night time. I have seen alot of complaints but its hard to filter them out on online reviews.

    Thanks for an excellent review! My old but much beloved HP8610 died (or perhaps only lapsed into a coma as it has refused to print for 3 weeks with an "failed or missing printhead error" and 3 separate calls to HP support ( pleasant but not very helpful); I brought the 9018e yesterday and today guess what.............. 8610 is printing just fine, lol!!) and I spent hours researching a printer that would meet my needs and requirements and hit upon the HP 9018e. I have an HP 6700 that I use for a home business and it finally gave up the ghost (after I just stocked up on ink of course). My local Costco has the 9018 and it looks like a pretty solid replacement. I use the fax fairly regularly. So that narrows my replacement options. I'm looking forward to the insta ink thing - especially the 8 months free.

      I think you’re really going to enjoy this printer. I love mine! And I am on the 15/page per day plan (because I don’t print that much) and I’m still using the free money they gave me when i bought the printer since it’s only $.99 (cents) a month for 15 pages. I think it’s a good deal!! Thanks for the comment!

      I have the same issue. I don’t print that much either. My last printer 🖨 had this problem where the ink either dried in the print head or something. This one so far hasn’t had that issue. I’m hoping they have perfected it so it doesn’t have this issue. I can’t tell you anything we can do as preventative maintenance thus far. Haven’t had an issue to look into this. I know in the past we could run a print head cleaning from the software but haven’t looked on this model.

      Hi! I’m not sure if you have MAC or Windows. I am using my printer on a MAC. I do not use the HP software to do this, but rather the Image Capture app found on any MAC. If you are using a MAC, you can make sure the “Combine into single document” checkbox is unchecked so you get individual files saved. It will require an extra step then to go to your email platform and set up an email for each document.

    • @techtalkwithtroy7975
      @techtalkwithtroy7975  3 года назад

      Thanks for your question! From what I can tell online at HP, there is NOTHING different about these two printers. It appears they are numbered differently because they are sold by different stores and marketed different (COSTCO vs SAMS). Someone also mentioned that the 9018 comes with a USB cable and 9015 doesn’t but honestly, I don’t think that’s true. I don’t remember getting a USB cable with my 9018. So it appears it’s just for marketing purposes but both have the same specs.

    I recently purchased the HP9018.Has anyone else had a problem with losing the WiFi connectivity even though the printer is in close proximity to the router? I would get up in the morning and the settings would be changed disconnecting from my network.

    • @techtalkwithtroy7975
      @techtalkwithtroy7975  3 года назад +1

      Frank, thanks for the question!! I have to say YES, I’ve had issues with it staying connected, but I will say mine is on a 2nd floor far away from my router so I attributed it to that. But to sit right next to your router seems a little much. Not sure why it would continue to do that. Perhaps an update to their firmware will help with that issue. I usually turn mine off and back and it connects again but still a pain.

    I bought a 9010 and while I like the build and finish of the device I am not impressed with the setup procedure way too involved for me as I like a hard-wired connection and I had to use Windows 11 update service to actually be able to use the rear old fashioned USB port to connect to my main desktop which is not Wi-Fi capable. The Wi-Fi works with my main laptop but again it was a real trial to get this completed via the Windows settings service. What I am not impressed by is the cost of the ink replacements which are more than the printer cost me which does not make sense at all.

    • @techtalkwithtroy7975
      @techtalkwithtroy7975  Год назад

      I agree on the setup. I could never just use it on my work computer the old fashioned way without their app. I do their $.99 cent/month ink plan since I don’t print that much. Also, I got like $50 free ink $$ when I started and have not even used it all yet so I’ve not had to pay anything yet. I may rethink that when this money runs out. Thanks for your valuable feedback!

      @johngoard8272 Год назад +1

      @@techtalkwithtroy7975 Yes Troy I don't use the printer that much say once or twice a week, so there is no need for any ink plans. The setup was a nightmare for me as I could not get to grips with the fancy apps and I only got the printer connected the old fashioned way by installing the drivers and using Windows 11 Settings/ Devices settings to be able to connect via a USB cable to the back of the printer (I ripped off the sticker over the port) and using WiFi from my main laptop again was done via Windows 11 settings after installing the driver for the printer. As you may guess I am not an app fan at all because it all becomes too difficult and complicated. But after all it is a good and quick printer and overall I like it as much as my previous old HP Officejet Pro 8600 which sadly died after I tried cleaning the printhead (not to be done lightly!!
