    That's coming together nicely. Pro tip: the fan will self-machine to the correct diameter once you get it running.

    The plan is coming together. You may never work this little tractor hard, but we all know Ross will find a job for it! Just a tip on fans for maximum effect. When spacing the fan to the shroud, for optimal air movement 10-20% of the fan blade should be outside the fan shroud.

    • @rosstheoliverman

      Thanks John! That’s neat, I don’t think I’ve ever heard the specs on fan clearance. I always wondered how they arrived at how close they put it to the radiator. This one might end up being closer just out of the practicality, but we’ll see what happens.

    You sure do have a lot of patience and perseverance to work on those projects like this Oliver 1250 (Fiat 415). I can't wait to see how you make all these parts fit, I know it's not as easy as you're making it look. Good luck on the rest of the rebuild, I hope everything works out for you. Thanks and I hope your day goes great!

    Fold up the original water pump, put it in a standard envelope, mail it to me, and I will rebuild it within 24 hours, put it in a standard envelope, and mail it back to you. Working on invisible water pumps is easy. "The King has no clothes" is the basis of this rebuild offer. Now that you have it adapted, even though you did not do it with duct tape like Red Green would do, you have accomplished your need. Great project.

    Very entertaining and informative. It will not be long before you have this running. There are not many people around who can actually do something like this. Have you explained the hitch mechanism on this tractor? What kind of hydraulic system does it have? I still don't understand how it was originally built for a 24 volt charging system but can run on 12 volts?

    I feel kind of bad for all of the parts tractors. For many they were almost like "family". It's fortunate they can be organ donors to keep other tractors running. I really hope this all works out and little Fiat gets a new life Dr. Ross. It already has a good heart, you both do

    Nice thinking outside the box. You can get severe service belts that are made for things like a variable drive pulley set up. Those drives are made to operate with less than perfect alignment, like on combine cleaning fan drives.

    How many of these tractors were produced for the North American market? There has to be parts out there somewhere. I mean this motor might have been used in other equipment so maybe that would be the route to go. Can you provide the information on the engine like displacement and maybe a serial number stamped in the block?

    Here my idea make your plate to fit the block first ok drill your holes but make it so you can get your pump up high enough so you can center it.. bolt plate on then align pump where needed and make drill holes for bolt but I would thread the holes so it be mounted to plate. Yes you have a good idea going too

  • @barnmechanic2952
    @barnmechanic2952 Месяц назад +1

    Yes the one from 415 diesel / 1250 diesel wont work. The one from the Fiat 315 diesel might fit since It's basically the same engine . You'll properly have to import from europe not cheap. Fiat 415 petrol is very rare in europe and spare parts are non-existent. A new water pump seal is available if you manage to find a used pump. Seal part fiat 882723. Bearings 6300-2RS
