Thanks for Watching!!!
That's coming together nicely. Pro tip: the fan will self-machine to the correct diameter once you get it running.
I tried that with a composit fan and shroud one time. It made all kinds of racket for 3 seconds and then it was quiet
@@jamieebersole6755 self alignment!
@ThatOliverGuyChris we built custom parts fast including the radiator
@@ThatOliverGuyChris Awesome pro tip I think that will work play 🤣🤣🤣
You have to run it twice the rated speed to really get the precision fan shaping 🤣
Atleast im not the only one who gets new junk and forgets all.about all the old half fixed junk i have
I see the old 1600 in the background too...
Just think about how big the auction will be in 50 or so years. 😂😂😂 It will be a 4 day Oliver bonanza!
Like watching something built like that. Good video Ross
Thanks Matt!
The plan is coming together. You may never work this little tractor hard, but we all know Ross will find a job for it! Just a tip on fans for maximum effect. When spacing the fan to the shroud, for optimal air movement 10-20% of the fan blade should be outside the fan shroud.
Thanks John! That’s neat, I don’t think I’ve ever heard the specs on fan clearance. I always wondered how they arrived at how close they put it to the radiator. This one might end up being closer just out of the practicality, but we’ll see what happens.
You sure do have a lot of patience and perseverance to work on those projects like this Oliver 1250 (Fiat 415). I can't wait to see how you make all these parts fit, I know it's not as easy as you're making it look. Good luck on the rest of the rebuild, I hope everything works out for you. Thanks and I hope your day goes great!
Thank you Dan!!!
Preoccupation with an inanimate mechanical object !!! Sucks me in every time🤣
🤣🤣🤣
It's been a while since we heard from your sponsors Colonel fard ponders 😂
🤣🤣🤣
👨🔧🚜Impressive solving a problem and fabrication. 👍👍
Thanks Tom!
Your vids rock! Glad I found your vids. Been watching Losey for a while
Thank you!!
Cool idea and should be fun to make. Thanks for the videos
Thanks for watching!
Your not a moron you are a fabricating genius
🤣 Thanks!
I hope that all works out well for you. It looks pretty good on there.
Thanks Bob!
Very nice 👍
Thank you 👍
Looking good
Thanks 👍
Great video Ross. Nice to see a thinkin man at work. Looks like you got it figured out. Nice job. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thanks Keith!
Glad to see the cute lil 1250 is coming along. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!!!
Looking good Ross. You will have the old italian driving around and keeping itself cool in no time
Thanks!
Ross, I'm starting to think that you can make a purse out of a sow's ear 🤣🤣🤣 thanks Michael
🤣 Thanks!
Fold up the original water pump, put it in a standard envelope, mail it to me, and I will rebuild it within 24 hours, put it in a standard envelope, and mail it back to you. Working on invisible water pumps is easy. "The King has no clothes" is the basis of this rebuild offer. Now that you have it adapted, even though you did not do it with duct tape like Red Green would do, you have accomplished your need. Great project.
🤣 Thanks!
That's a great piece of cobbled together engineering but should work satisfactorily
Thanks Stephen!
Very entertaining and informative. It will not be long before you have this running. There are not many people around who can actually do something like this. Have you explained the hitch mechanism on this tractor? What kind of hydraulic system does it have? I still don't understand how it was originally built for a 24 volt charging system but can run on 12 volts?
I’ll do more in depth on the model after I get it running. I’ll try to cover all that stuff you asked about. Right now I’m just anxious to take it for a test drive. 🤣
That’s awesome! What an ingenious idea to make a non existent part, readily available again lol!
Thanks!
That set will work like a new one... good job!
Thanks!
That's slick I'm impressed
Thanks Brian!
you can counter sink the heads on the adapter to clear the new pump.
whatever you do, when you are done make a pattern for others to use. you might even be able to sell them, or have a friend manufacture them for sale. these new computer cutting tables would make it easy. Profit center
looks like you have your project coming along nicely thank you for the video
Thanks!
Looks like that's gonna work out pretty well! 👍👍👍👍👍
I hope so 🤣
Great job Ross, can't wait to see it run
Thanks!
You are the fiat man and I’m quite happy with mine.😊
🤣 Thanks David! I’m super happy with Freddie!!
You know I do!
🤣
You are a Master at what you do!
Thanks!
When you get to the alternator. You may consider a peerless belt governor. Like the one used on gas truck engines in combines, wood chippers,waterpumps,ect..
I thought of that, but I’ll still have to cobble up some linkage to make that work because of the location of the carburetor.
I feel kind of bad for all of the parts tractors. For many they were almost like "family". It's fortunate they can be organ donors to keep other tractors running. I really hope this all works out and little Fiat gets a new life Dr. Ross. It already has a good heart, you both do
I know, it’s hard to believe the condition of some of the tractors you find. They were a big investment when they were new, and eventually were kicked to the curb.
Nice thinking outside the box. You can get severe service belts that are made for things like a variable drive pulley set up. Those drives are made to operate with less than perfect alignment, like on combine cleaning fan drives.
Awesome idea! Thanks!
Great video, just round corners on adapter plate , I think it will look good
The top edge needs to be square so I can attach the air cleaner which I’ll do later on. Thanks!!
What a great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Countersink the holes in the adapter plat for flat head cap screws, 82 degree counter sink. Then tap the holes for the pump mounting.
That’s pretty well what I did.
@@rosstheoliverman That ws a pretty clever way to solve the water-pump problem.
Good job - thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Nice video Ross
Thanks Larry!
Mill a Chanel in the plat.
Yeah, if I had a milling machine, I could’ve probably made this a lot more fancy
How many of these tractors were produced for the North American market? There has to be parts out there somewhere. I mean this motor might have been used in other equipment so maybe that would be the route to go. Can you provide the information on the engine like displacement and maybe a serial number stamped in the block?
I’m not sure how many were made, but not a lot survived. They were not well liked after they started messing up.
Wipe a bit of grease on the engine side then you’ll have an imprint on your cardboard. 😊
That’s how I did it
Great show, as always ! On the fan blade, won't you need to shave the same amount from each blade to keep it balanced ? Keep on trucking ! Say heyvto Buddy the Dog, we love him ! He needs his own shirt !
That’s what I did. It might be in part 2. Thanks!
Dumb dumb , that’s what Gazoo called Fred Flintstone 😂😂. Shave the shroud , keep fan balanced or not 😁 . Great video Ross , see ya tomorrow
🤣 Thanks Mark!
I must have missed on an earlier episode, is this the 'Parts Tractor' parked so long behind working on getting "freddie" running?
This is a new acquisition from 6 or 7 videos back
No this 1250 came into my life about a week or so ago. I have a 1365 parts tractor which I used to get another 1365 running, which is what I traded for Freddie.
Hey look at you using CAD to design your adapter. You know, cardboard aided design.
🤣🤣🤣
For your governor look into the old versatile swather with Ford 6 cylinder engine
I know there were belt drive governors on some pieces of Equipment. That might end up happening before this is done. lol.
Here my idea make your plate to fit the block first ok drill your holes but make it so you can get your pump up high enough so you can center it.. bolt plate on then align pump where needed and make drill holes for bolt but I would thread the holes so it be mounted to plate. Yes you have a good idea going too
Thanks!
Yes the one from 415 diesel / 1250 diesel wont work. The one from the Fiat 315 diesel might fit since It's basically the same engine . You'll properly have to import from europe not cheap. Fiat 415 petrol is very rare in europe and spare parts are non-existent. A new water pump seal is available if you manage to find a used pump. Seal part fiat 882723. Bearings 6300-2RS
would a electric water pump and electric fan work and just make adapter plates to hook up the pump ?
That’s my last resort plan but yes, that would work.
@@rosstheoliverman i understand your wanting to keep it original i just thought it would allow you to use tractor temporarily till you come up with solution good luck
Have you decided which model Fiat tractor will be the next one for your collection??
I’m not really actively looking, they just seem to keep finding me 🤣
Farmer engineering comes threw 😅
Absolutely 🤣
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
cad cardboard assisited design.
🤣🤣🤣
Salvage part/scrap pile engineering at its finest!!! If it works, who cares if it ain't pretty.
Thanks Don!
😁 Impressive Minimum Effort. You got it made. Cockshutt 1250A 677209AS ebay ? Have you try Canada ? thanks
1250A is a totally different tractor
