Hey thanks for watching the video!
I'm glad you had a good year with crops and hay/straw
Con grats in your wonderful harvest, great set up,, ni such thing as nit enough room space ,you can always find some,, love the videos
Your RUclips videos are appreciated. You tell us about farming in a pleasant way. $10,000 for a new combine tire is crazy. Imagine having duals on the front wheels. Your drone shots are excellent. Thank you.
And they have to replace tires a lot and they cost big money on all their equipment.
Dang that sucks that the pricy combine tire blew but that’s farming! When You service the Case baler tractors do You clean out the engine air filters as well? Dirty air filters can lead to more fuel being needed. Good old Farm King auger, the Farm King plant is 2 blocks from our house! Little advise when You move the auger and you maybe did show it but You should uncouple the PTO shaft from the tractor before You move the auger otherwise You can early break the inner ball on the CV yoke. Seen lots of failures like that at the dealership and that’s a $1800 repair cost cause You have to buy the complete tractor half PTO shaft! Just a heads up is all.
Love You videos, been watching them for a year or more! You do a great job!! 👍👍
Great video, wow yes the tires are expensive. I worked heavy equipment on Railway before retirement on loading and unloading
overseas containers. the tires on some machines were way bigger than your combine for lifting 60/ 70,000 lbs loads, never seen
one blow but running 24 hour shifts 7days a week, used to wear them out.
We are from Sault Ste.Marie Ont.We watch all your video’s on the way to the Yuckon we checked out your town and drove by the farm.Keep up the great work.
" Flat Bottom Bins " ! Must be a new QUEEN song ? 😅😅😅😊
“They make the farmin world go round… Get on your tractors & ride!”
Thank you for another video we love them
Exactly. Please continue when you can, your farm vlogs are amazing. Hello from Ontario.
You do the best drone work, thank you!
Good morning from UK, excellent video as always, and thanks for the opportunity to be involved in your work and your lives, excellent drone footage plus photography 💯
Morning Jan, another great video, thoroughly interesting, you do have a voice which is easy to listen to and your content never fails to keep us watching. Thanks for taking us along, have a fantastic week. Love from Australia.
Artistically, this was your best video yet. Your drone work is amazing!
Tire are prices are mind blowing. Our firend had the same issue last year. For him it was on a wet wheat field with half a tank(CX808). It was a challenge to lift the front axle, it pushed the jack in to ground, with the wood pile under it.
Go get a proper wood block or thick plywood and then blocks
@@kaurkoop It had at least 5-8 block under it. It was just wet from the constant rain.
Great video brotha. Tire issues suck. Take the good with the bad. May the wind always be at your back.
Yowzah…“my angel is the centerfold”…woah, jamón, jamón…damn; really like the musical choice for the combine montage; almost dreamy… “You'll remember me when the west wind moves upon the fields of barley”…Yay, Nic!...leverage man…story on the spreader tires?...wooohooo! The red one!...“Da do do do, da dah dah dah, is all I want to say to you”…another good musical choice for baling montage…wow - purple haze?...*wave at Mirjam*…crank my flywheel…short time lapse is better than cut…grain vacuum?
😎
For winter storage:
- Block the combine up and not let the tyres touch the ground
- .5 bar over pressure
- wrap or apply dry seal to tyre casing
I'm about to be a farmer, never done it I think I'll be driving truck hauling crops, and possibly milking and also driving harvesters ETC, yah I'm doing it all 😂😅, firzt days Monday wish me luck yall
I was going to say the same about blocking up the tyres off the ground for the winter! Prevents tyre wall damage! Used to do it on a farm I worked on 25 years ago!
I'm very happy for you guys this year. This was a well deserved break from the bad years. It's nice to see the whole family out getting it done.
great job!! Always enjoy your videos!!
Your guys work 24/7 none stop . Here the same way 24/7 .
Wow glad the tire didn’t blow up that would cost more to fix the combine and tire and more down time they cost a lot but you duo what you have to do so you can get crop’s in fields in bin ‘s . Wow that don’t look to good seeing smoke in the distance hope the fire is not coming your way that would suck . Hope they get the fire under control and other farmer is okay.
Awesome drone footage ❤🎉😊
Hopefully your new tire comes with a warranty.
But likely not a 12-year one!
Great video brother from the imperial county ca 🚜
Great video. Thank you
Good job guys
Keep up the great work you do!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
You may never know how much your videos help other farmers. But you do very awesome videos.
711 bales from 320 acres of P straw? That’s impressive! Sounds like you’ll be set for years to come with all that bedding!
Super happy for you guys this year you need a good crop so you can pay for the high cost of repair parts we face the same thing in America I guess you just smile and take it don't like but crap happens
What a harvest all around!!
You could use a grain vac for those flat bottoms Bins if you have to fill them saw it used on Sonny farms video
Another banger! I am wondering what do you do with the stuff coming out of the back of the columbine? Do you guys make square or round bales with what is left on the fields? Man farm work is expensive but I guess what isn’t expensive anymore.
Sorry to see your tire went bad. Honestly I'm not surprised, that seems to be typical trelleborg, I've seen them Crack like that way to often for no reason when they still have lots of life yet but could be because of how old they are. But your right tires are expensive right now. Especially a special size tire like that will be worse
good job!
great family operation
Where are you putting all these bales???? Extra land not being used???? That's crazy....crazy good tho..😂🎉
You know .... nothing runs like a Deere.....😊.. had to put that plug in, I'm from Illinois..❤🙏🇺🇲
I assume at harvest time the show must go on regardless of cost, but I seem to recall in April when a very expensive tire was damaged, you managed to smuggle one in from Wisconsin at a much lower cost.
Finding tires that big is the problem. Getting them in a timely manner is another problem as well.
Thanks for your video.
Some farmers are now dumping their wheat into semis on the go instead of dumping into grain carts. It is worth thinking about and trying out since the dollars affect the bottom line.
There are advantages such as less fines in the grain from less augering without a cart, less fuel used, less manpower required, less wear on machinery, more profit etc.
Other crops such as potatoes, sugar beet, corn silage and some vegetables are directly dumped from the harvester on the go into trucks instead of being dumped into a cart.

Bro your sunglasses are awesome.
Swedish tire good stuff
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
GOOD AFTERNOON GREAT VIDEO
Gotta love the grease zerks
The netwrap wraps around the roller because chaff, especially when it’s short like that, plugs up the duckbill and redirects the netwrap down to that roller. I have seen the here with short Bermuda grass hay.
Good to know I’ll look into it! Thanks!
Would it be beneficial for the land letting the stobles on the ground… adding black Mather to the ground????
It would be great if you asked your dad on camera what he thinks of the straw bales and all the grain, I think he would be laughing and enjoying himself
Love the old 94 series cases, lots of guys didn’t know how to drive them and gave them a bad name but even after that you see that probably 80% of farms have a 70-94 series case yet still running on their farm even if they run green… must have been a pretty good tractor especially if green guys still have them
Soooo appreciate seeing the area where you farm….so flat.
That knife is sharp!!
cool
Yayeeks, 10K....INSANE!
That old tires tread looked in great shape. Any idea what made it pop?
10k…..that hurt
🇺🇸🇨🇱
Remember that's probably not US $.
Bad luck on the tire!
My 605n vermeer will wrap 1/2 the netwrap around that same roller as well. Usually when I’m baling on the wet side. Never on dry material.
Good thing about dry years is you’ll see it coming back on a 1/2 mile pass coming back. Lol
I love your channel!
I guess having to clean out the flat bottoms is a good problem to have.
we use a backup camera the see the bale netting we have the same baler works good
Sad that you had to spend ten grand on a tire. For one year you finally get a bumper crop and have to spend the profits on a tire.Great video of serious farm work. Thanks.
Good video.
Bunch of Forrest fires I'm in manitoba and it was so smokey a few days ago you could only see about a mile down the road
I like agriculture and I like you too
Trelleborg is a city in Sweden :)
Wow, 10K would make a very expensive barn scrapper!
Ten grand is way to much. At that price, one tire at a time is a plenty.
Jen (yen, I’m not sure how to spell your cool name!) how many bales round and square total do you estimate this year, and what would be the dollar ammount to go buy that much feed in your market locally? I’m just curious how crucial if farming is to your dairy, and if you could potentially have custom harvesters/buy all feed & still turn a profit on the dairy. I’m assuming no, farming is where you make your margins
It's spelled 'Jan.'
Jan Tony fast has a nice baler for sale
OMG, dude, that same tire here in Kansas in the state's is only 4 to 5 thousand tops, even less depending on the vendor, I sure can't believe they charge that much, pure evil greed towards farmers in Canada. I'm in total shock. I felt the pain in this video for sure....😢
10K!!! 😮😢
I’ve just looked one up here in the uk same brand £2440 plus vat at 20%
it is good if the only John Deere machine on the farm is a small compressor.
Hello Jan, hoping all is well. Just wondering what the conversation is regarding your friend in Pennsylvania (10th Generation Dairyman) and his installation of a robotic feeding system? Seems like an obvious choice with the challenges of the high cost of laborers today and the government hard press to pay much higher wages. I’m hoping the Ottawa gov doesn’t close you down entirely. Seems that there are some hard core peeps pushing farmers to the brink.
Wow! Just curious but about how many hours did you have on that $10,000 tire?
Best way to think of that is over 12 years that tire cost you $ 833 a year. I know it does not make sense but it eases the pain a bit.
Can you sell any of your extra straw bales to any other nearby farms?
Yes, they have bought bales off others previously.
@@OOpSjm
Let me rephrase my question. Do they plan to try to sell any bales to any of the neighboring farms? Or would they rather just keep the extra inventory?
They are building inventory
thx for the vid…..yikes, 10K for one tire UGH….best to you, Rob
Tire blowouts are a bummer.
👍
I have an stx450 case with triples on it, tires are getting pretty worn and have leaks in some and have been just adding air every few days. To do the whole tractor is around 50k with 20.8-42’s. our combine needs tires as well and i cringe to see what that will cost
No other options for a tire? I know Trelleborg motorcycle tires are about 3-4 times the cost of a Dunlop. They used to come standard on Husqvarna motorcycles back in the day but they were quickly surpassed by Pirelli and Dunlop.
Those trelleborgs are famous for that they leak in between the casings Bkt
700 bales ? Wow... That's a lot of bales of straw...
I hate to say it buddy but in my opinion with all the straw that you got maybe you should get one of those PTO driven loading forage wagon and build a straw shed so that way you don't have to bail every time if you know what I mean kind of like silage
Not feasible with that amount of material. You will never be able to pack dry straw to similar density of a bale. Also a bit of a fire hazard. One small spark from something and you lost a few years worth of straw
Hate to say iT buddy but you don't have a clue what you are talking about
It’s hung around the Bearing on the Side in video!
You missed a collab opportunity with The Tire Doctor. LOL, jk. Sorry about the blowout Jan!
Try using bushings instead of bearings if you can
hey bro you talked about them seagulls..... where are they coming from ?? any large lakes in y9ur area ????
How much of your harvested grain will you save to feed and how much will you sell?
👍👌❤🇨🇦
A Swedish tire! Only the best is god enough. Btw, is Verstappen loosing the F champioship? 😁😁
How many years can you store the straw bales outside before they are not any good for bedding? Do you ever cover any of them with plastic?
2-3 years depending how you stack them
🇨🇦👍👍👍💯🇺🇸
I bet after such a good crop your father is gonna buy himself a Raptor. 😂
in Germany we say Trelleschrott (=Trelle"scrap")
Jan, How do you measure what goes into the feed wagon?
Weight
There is a scale on the wagon, and theres a recipe so you know how much of each ingredient, just like baking a cake
🇺🇸🙏🇨🇦 🚜 🤷♀️
Like build a big straw Hall
Do you save enough so you can use as seed for next year
Damn 10,000 for a new tire sorry about that hope it doesn't happen again for a long time
Honestly the fact the tire is almost new is try to make a claim … default tire 😂
Same tire as this in my country is 2700€
I was watching a different channel and he had to replace a belt on a bailer 446.00 for the belt and come hear and your bailing
