    • @O4lo

      I don't think that resources exist. Once you get to the trailhead, it's pretty much self-explanatory leading to the Meadows. As far as camping, you can pretty much camp anywhere that is designated (first come, first serve).

    Super cool to see that RAM out there. Was it a Power Wagon? And did I spot a Sequoia on 35s? I have a JLU myself but I love seeing vehicles other than your typical Wrangler/4Runner/Bronco doing cool trails. Buddy of mine is trying to get me to get a side-by-side like a RZR but I was all "if I got something that size I'd get a Mahindra Roxor" because I love unique rigs. Also, the food looked amazing. Filipino kebabs?

    • @O4lo
      @O4lo  Год назад

      Lol, I don’t remember a RAM in our group. I think that was Toyota Tundra. I see plenty of side by side here. I think they camp before coming down here and just using the side by side to explore.
      Yes thoes are the filipino BBQ 🤣🤣

    Wow that water! This might be a stupid Q but I am new to overlanding. Are you in 4 wheel drive all the time when going through the trails and does water get into anyone's cad on those deep crossings? Bty beautiful footage!

      Thanks for watching!
      Regarding the 4WD question, It just depends on the trail. I mostly use 2WD in all dirt roads (flat fire roads). I use 4H when I'm doing high-speed loose surfaces like the sand dunes. If I need to go thru obstacles or any low-speed crawl such as navigating to a steep section or a rock garden, then I use 4LO. Depends on your vehicle, you just need to get a feel for it.

    Nicely done Vid. I'm one of the lucky folks that live up here in the KRV. I hit Monache a couple times a year to fish the Interspecies dam. For me it's only a couple of hours to get there. For another really nice area, try Big Meadow.

      a little rutted out (long downhill) but still doable. Other than the Rocky section with optional Off-shoot. The rest is flat dirt road. 🙂

      @O4lo thanks for the reply. I'm in a 2x4 tacoma, with upgraded suspension and tires. I've seen people do it before with the same setup, but I was curious how the climb out is especially after the rains.

      @O4lo hey! So just got back from Monache this afternoon. My 2x4 taco did just fine coming out. Just aired down the rears to 30psi, clicked the Trac Off with Auto LSD, and motored on up. Even that last rocky uphill didn't give me too much trouble.

    • @O4lo
      @O4lo  Год назад

      Awesome, bro! I bet you had a great time. I thought it was rutted for 2WD. Maybe you are just a better driver, hahaha! We're there alot of mosquitoes?

    • @Mxgy31

      @O4lo maybe driver skill had a but to do with it. I used to race motocross, so understanding lines and traction is second nature to me. I came out unscathed from mosquito bites. Didn't see many.
