This is great! I completely relate, especially since I'm an older adult and not a young child. What I want to know, if there's a simple answer, if I'm writing a song (a very, simple song) and the melody notes are let's say (just for discussion) A, C and E. So if I'm playing an A with my right hand, how do I know what chord/s would work with that? Or if I'm playing a C with my right hand, how do I know what chord/s would sound good with that? Am I making sense as to what my question is? TY!

You're playing an A minor chord in your right hand. You can play the notes A, E and A in your left hand. That simple pattern will work with your melody notes. Hope that helps!

Why are you discouraging people to learn to read music. what about alto and tenor clefs? are you discouraging that too?

This is for beginners, to make them sound more skilled.
Reading music isn’t all there is to making music. Reading isn’t required to be able to speak.
