You’re welcome!!! I actually released the extended/finished version of the demo song I did with this guitar, check it out!!!: ruclips.net/video/EYfFIzveYaQ/видео.html
Hey man, thanks for the awesome video! Just a quick side note: HB's multiscale guitars change every year and the one in the video looks more like a 2019 model because of the headstock and pickups. In 2020, they changed pickups back to the so-called "HBZ Custom Wound Ferrite Elektrisola Humbucker", which they also used in their 2018 model. :)
i think i might get this when i decide to try out an 8 string for the first time. my 7 string that i ordered yesterday will be here in a few days, most likely by the start of next week so i cant wait to start playing that. then think about getting an 8 string once im comfortable with that 7 string
I prefer a 4+4 headstock. Tuners are not so cluttered together which is even less pleasant on a reverse headstock. Pick-ups seem to be really good. I see no reason to upgrade any of the Roswell pick-ups I have on several Harley Benton.
I am the guy who just commented your post on the ML Sound Lab group. The one I have is the 2017 or 2018 model and it has that headstock. So you probably got one of the last they had in stock before switching to the newer in-line headstock.
I hope they will start selling them again or that they make a new model next year. Love the way it looks and sounds and I really want one but they're sold out everywhere.
@@jamesfindice2871 Thank you for the info. In the end I decided to upgrade the pickups on my 6string because I realised I wouldn't really find a good use for an 8string :D
Awesome you have some great content you have my support 💯💯💯💯 and I really like my guitar is pretty awesome but eventually with time I will change those pick ups 🔥🎹🔥
This one by far. Doesn’t mean the R-458 isn’t good, this one is just a better instrument. Better pickups, better tuners, better design (neck thru vs bolt on), better finish, etc. I am able to get amazing sounds out of both and the white one is lighter and would be easier to haul around onstage for a whole set, this one is a lot heavier. But the neck on this 8 string guitar is pretty much identical to the Wizard neck on my Ibanez and that’s just crazy to me. So, yeah, I love both, but the QEB-8 takes it.
@@evilnano.4696 you're welcome!!! BTW, you can listen to the finished song of this demo here: ruclips.net/video/eaiCGC4BEXI/видео.html My EP "WITHOUT WORDS" comes out July 23rd, this song is track #2 on it. You can reserve it on Spotify or Apple Music here: snd.click/dyefsv
Great question! They're both extremely similar in feel but I think the QEB-8 takes the edge in electronics and overall features. Better pickups, locking tuners, neck-thru-body construction. While they both feel, play and sound much better than what their price would dictate, I would definitely choose the QEB-8 over the R-458. Problem is, I don't know when the QEB-8 will be back in stock.
I recorded the guitar using Presonus Studio One. The VST I'm using within Presonus is ML Sound Labs Amped Roots. I recorded three takes and panned hard left and right and left one in the center on certain parts.
I don’t have a way of measuring that at the moment unfortunately, but according to the Harley Benton website, the nut width is 54mm (2.13”) and the fretboard radius is 410mm (16.14”). I can tell you that I own a 2004 Ibanez RG 7 string with a Wizard neck and the neck on this 8 string is very similar. I hope that helps.
Thank you my friend but I asked for thickness but you gave me width and radius. Average neck thickness should be around 20mm at 1st fret and 22 at 12th. Ibanez prestige is even 17/19. For me it is quite important, it affects playability in a serious manner
Great video and awesome guitar for the price! I’d rather have the headstock that you have then the reverse in-line 8 cuz the tuners are so close together and harder to tune. Plus the low string is a lot longer and harder to find strings and have to have good tension and larger gauge strings. If you ever want to sell/trade hit me up 😂 rock on! 🤘🏻
I know, right?!?!?! LOL! You have no idea how many times people have asked me, but I'm happily married to this baby. I'm glad I got it when I did, not just because of the aesthetics, but definitely because it would mean having to get custom string sets for it with the new headstock. Regardless, it's an amazing guitar, don't let that deter you from getting one.
Nope!!! This one is staying with me forever!!! I'm sure Harley Benton will release them again this year, COVID messed up their production on a few of their lines.
What ever you say about the pickups, but I have changed them to seymour duncan black winter 8-string set. They are fucking expensive but worth the money. If you play a tubeamp you will hear the difference, and that's why I say: worth the money, you life only one time in your live Give a shit for the money if you are a freak, just do it!
I’m sure those the EMGs will sound better, they make an excellent product. All of my music happens inside the computer so I’m able to tweak my sound as much as I want. I’d love to hear yours with the EMGs, I bet it sounds great.
This great guitar has a perfect hardware, worth to replace the pickups an buy a seymour duncan black winter 8-string set for further 350€, GAS? Nö! It's worth!!! What do you think?
I don’t know if what you’re saying is factual, but all I did here was run it through an ML Sound Lab plugin and fix the levels. There’s no post production whatsoever. Here’s the fully mixed version if you want to compare: music.ruclips.net/video/EYfFIzveYaQ/видео.html&si=bysuBuupVx61huX9

they got some at Thomann at the moment, just with an ugly headstock IMO

Hello JP, how would you compare the QEB8 Multiscale and the R-458 multiscale? I'm hesitating in between getting one of the two
