  • Wading for crappie in Grenada MS can be very productive and fun way to catch crappie. Wading for crappie is a different style of crappie fishing Wading for crappie isn't for everyone and some cant do it but i show you as well how to jig for crappie with the one man boat if wading for crappie just wont work for you..The wading for crappie in Grenada is a big thing an had really grown over the past years. The key to wading for crappie on Grenada lake is catching that water over 215ft are better then it's game on during their spawning season when they move to the shallow. Thats defiantly a good chance for you to carry a trophy fish of a lifetime out them waters for your wall to have to show off. them trophy fish are in there because of the laws in place. some like the laws some don't. i wish SC would put that law in place so we could have more trophy fish as well. A trophy fish to me is over 3.75 lbs. 3 1/2 pound blk crappie is a nice on doubt and if your wading in them trees that crappie will probably make you think it weighs about 5 lbs because of that shallow water an tight hole your in. It's an awesome thump them fish give ya in that shallow water. Thanks for watching. We appreciate you all

I’m new to the area and I don’t have a boat or kayak to access most places on Grenada I was wondering if there are area you know of for me to walk out to instead of having ti have a boat to get to

As soon as the water comes up yes. What I would do is go to spillway an see what’s going on with the river side of it. Them fish should be smoking it in there right now as we speak an you can smoke them off the bank. That would be my first option. My last 2 trips there I didn’t carry a boat. You wait until April an you definitely don’t need a boat. I’ll be back there again myself in March An April. Can’t wait. Thanks for watching. We appreciate you. I would definitely go to spillway an check it out.

I’ll see if I have a map of the lake an mark some good places to go try. It’ll take me a day to get it together for you because I need to check lake level an look at the map an exact areas actual names of the landings to go to. Thanks also

What length rod were you using? I’ve been wanting to try those pops crappie jigs. What size do you suggest?

10 an 12 but start off with the 10 get use to it then go big. If your gonna be doing it in open water no trees around. Go ahead an get the 12 13 footer. River fishing the 10 is right on the money.
