- In this video, I am crappie fishing Lake Grenada in Mississippi with T.J. from Sling Em’ In Guide Service. The crappie bit was tough, but we still managed some slab crappie while dodging the rain storms. Summer crappie fishing can be tricky and you all know I don't fish with livescope very often, we are crappie fishing with the Garmin Livescope 1222. This is the best crappie fishing technique to use to chase down roaming crappie. We are crappie fishing with a jig, and are able to put the bait right on the crappies nose, however, that doesn't mean that the crappie will bite. I hope you enjoyed this video.

I can personally testify that RIVER has TJ trained to retrieve large crappie because I had my first 3 pound crappie flopping on the deck in less than two minutes after TJ dropped the trolling motor at our first stop of the morning on GRENADA.
When you are good, then you will be in demand, so plan on booking months in advance for a trip with TJ most of the time, especially in the spring.

Glad you had a good time in MS! The I55 corridor is just a crappie fisherman's dream! I spider rig and watching a multiple poles get buried is something else! Between those 4 lakes, they can be on fire on one lake, and locked up on another. If you get a chance, hit them up in Feb or March, and you will see some that will blow your mind! Look up the 2022 Crappie Masters at Grenada...multiple fish over 4lbs!

Man 2021 and especially 22 these two years were crazy with the amount of 4lbers that were caught and there were several 4lbers caught two months post spawn this year ( 2022 )! It’s a wonderful blessing to live in Gore Springs to be able to fish this amazing lake especially living two minutes from the Graysport boat ramps and 5-10 min from Choctaw Turkey creek and Gums. Glad y’all had a great experience

There's no size limit here at Ross Barnett Reservoir in Jackson, MS and the daily limit is 30. We catch slabs anywhere from 1.5lbs to 2.5lbs, will even come across a 3lber every once in a while.

I've fished Grenada, Sardis, Arkabutla, and Enid, the size limit is over 12in, 15 limit. 3 or more in a boat 40 limit, instead of 45, they trim off 5. Still quality fish though.

Hope you had fun in Mississippi! Grenada unlike many other lakes in my original home state has that strict 12 inch size limit in place because it's designated as a trophy crappie fishery.

Well they have to be 12 inches to keep. And yeah these crappie are built different then Texas crappie lol gotta be the genes lol thanks for watching! God bless
No it’s fished from February until the drain the lake in the fall ( Grenada Enid Sardis and arkabutla lakes are water sheds to control flooding in the the delta they technically aren’t recreational lakes ) it’s thousands of people that come to these 4 lakes from all over Ms and 90% of the people are from out of state mostly Illinois Indiana Iowa Missouri Arkansas Kentucky Alabama Louisiana and Texas they are very strict when it comes to crappie here when it comes to size and limits you can read up more online that explains more about the size of the crappie

Brother, I predominantly DO NOT use livescope in my videos. Go watch them. This is the first video I have posted using livescope since December of last year. I catch crappie without it. I teach you how to catch crappie without it. Go check out some videos brother. God bless and thanks for watching!
From experience just because you have live scope don’t mean you catch every fish you see on that screen it doesn’t have a catch button we have chased them all over with the live scope swapping baits colors love minnows etc and still wouldn’t bite if they don’t want it they ain’t gonna eat it really the only advantage is you seeing the fish and your bait floating down to it other than that if the not biting that screen don’t make them bite
