I believe Shakespeare would have given his stamp of approval without a doubt; the rest by comparison fall so short as to fall off the radar when it comes to depicting this stunning young couple.
In a youtube interview Lenoard remembers someone involved in pre-production on R&J telling him, "See X over there? He is the cinematographer (?) and make him your best friend as he will make you more beautiful than you even are!" Such love has gone into every frame of this physically stunning movie from 1968(7). The music from the film is it's crown jewel. Bad idea to speak in absolutes, but this has to be the most beautiful movie soundtrack ever created. Not fun fact: Recently read how the musical score to Romeo and Juliet lost at the Academy Awards in 1968 to The Lion in Winter. BOO.
