I was around 5-8 years when I started watching this soap opera in the 1980s,. My mother had it on often and I always loved the music. Today it is 2022 and I am 39 and I still love this music. Thank you for this theme song :)
this always sounded best when played from the beginning - and definitely all the way through..i did notice that after Score Productions left AW, there was no composer listing - only music supervisors, producers and directors..does anyone know who actually composed this theme???.......
Brian Hagerty Indeed. I always thought it was strange how the opening and closing themes didn’t match during this era (save for the rare occasions when AW used the full vocal version of “You Take Me Away...” during the end credits).
Another World was the only soap opera that had two separate themes with the exception of 1997 and above. Sadly their opening afterwards prior to the cancellation was too similar to ER.
Edwyn Sanchez - Beverlee McKenzie was the first actress to play Iris on ANOTHER WORLD. Beverlee also played Iris for a year on the AW spin off show called TEXAS, which was a soap that focused on Iris as the sole lead character. Carmen Duncan came in later in the 1980’s to play Iris until Iris was sent off to jail in 1994.
No it was extremely popular in the early and mid 70s in the US ranking No. 2 at times. It was the first 60 minute soap opera, and the only 90 minute soap opera ever.
AW was really good then. I really loved this show.

What is the name of this theme song that ended this episode?
I loved this 2nd closing theme, but it didn’t really sound like the opening at all.

It was based on the opening theme, "You Take Me Away (to Another World)".

Nicole Love
OK... I want to know who portrayed the role of Mac Cory’s daughter, Iris?
Carmen Duncan
