@@LegendaryTactics I'm currently working on wrapping up the NR1 and NR2 reprints, these will include lots of new stuff. But the main culprit is large new series I'm working on,Six Battles per box, first covering the Napoleonic Wars in chronological order, then the American Civil War and the Seven years wars. If it's well-liked, probably around 12 volumes ( ! ). I have been at it for the last 3 years, announcements coming. So... Where does that leaves NR5? Finishing the design will be my next priority after NR1 and NR2 and the starting of the my new series, which will all be done this summer. So Time of Arrival of NR5 will probably be Summer 2024. Sooner if I can more free time: I had some map issue with the design, which is two games in one, using a backprinted mounted map; but these have almost all been resolved; I should have post-playtest graphic files to show before the year is out.
Wow, thanks for the comment, Carl! I own all the No Retreat Games, and I'm going to post videos on all of them, because they are all great! I can't wait for the D-Day one! I know you're so busy, but is there a timeline when that might be coming out??
@@LegendaryTactics I am working on finishing the rulebook and playbook for GMT Absolute War, then I am Embarking on the NR5 (West Europe 44-45) game, besides many many other projects. Timeline? I would say late 2021. :-)
@@carlparadis6735 Late 2021 can't come soon enough! I am looking forward to exploring the other No Retreat titles in these videos, so that hopefully others can discover these great games!
Thank you so much! Yes, I bought the game pretty much out of the gate when it came out, and this game that I'm featuring is from 2012. You can download the updated living rules which fixed a few minor errors and "gamey" elements, and the game is a joy to play!
Hi there! Not sure which point we missed it, but it is possible. This game was actually played in 2012, shortly after the game was released, so we were still new to it and the rules! Thank you for pointing it out - where exactly did it happen?
@@LegendaryTactics Starting at 7:38 when you begin combat in general. There were three attacks: one in the north, one in the south, and one in the middle. The Germans were eligible for the armor bonus for these three attacks.
Thank you for pointing that out! This was a game from back in 2012 when the game was pretty new, and we were new to it. I played it with a nice guy in Oakland CA and never thought it would be on RUclips one day...!
Thank you kindly for this series of videos covering this awesome game!
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
Older guy coming back into the hobby after 20 years and No Retreat is a great series to relearn the basics and the fun! Thanks for this video friend.
You're welcome! Glad to have you back!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for designing such great games! Any word on No Retreat 5?

So many great games, so little time. And that's just the No Retreat Series!!
Thanks for the excellent work. Keep going.
What year/edition is this? I’m looking to buy a copy from 2011 and wonder if it’s the same as the one you shoved here.
Great video!

13:48 there should be no roll for russian attack, because ratio is worse than 3 to 1. So Germany didn't get it's counterattack.

@@LegendaryTactics 9 year old game? Wow.
