Interesting. The game certainly posits that as a big factor, as avoiding a mud turn in turn 3 can make it hard to stop the Germans. Please, elaborate, I would like to know!
@@LegendaryTactics Basically, it was more of a problem of logistics, caused by extreme oil shortages and Russian rail gauges, which slowed the Germans' advance. By the time the Germans were nearing Moscow, their offensive capabilities were already exhausted. The winter may have hindered them; but in the end, taking Moscow wouldn't have won the war. They needed oil. Instantly one of my favorite games!
For some reason everybody belived the German generals when blamed Hitler (conveniantly dead), the weather, saying they neeeever were nazis or ... anything but german military for any failures. heir own wargames before the attak, using very VERY low numers on expcted Soviet forces was a failure. Rember the plan was a line Archanglesk -Astrakhan. Just... undoable. i mean they ahd incerdible sucess early on and still it was not even near up to plan. Out of Lenigrad, Moscow, Kiev (armygroup targets) they took only Kiev not all three before winter...
