I do not believe there is a standard look for us, we can do our hair in any type of why and still be the Wooly Haired People that are scattered throughout the World… We are who we are no matter if we straighten our hair or leave it be, everybody wants to be us… We are the standard…

I pray to meet someone here where I live that cared about our hair like you, I would be to see them very often… I am wondering what I can do to help my hair grow like this??? When I had lots my hair was down my back, but now I am having a hard time with growing my hair out…

For years since 2010, I have worn my hair nature, either I will braid it or wear it in Afro. I never blow dry it until I went back to a hairstylist and let her do it. But my hair will fall out alone the edges and crown so I had to just twist my natural hair myself and that how I wear it now! But my edges still don’t grow back in after using so many different hair growth products? Now I just leave it alone and just message in hair grease and nothing else! I can see a little growth but not fully grown hair in the edge! Hair doesn’t grow either! It’s healthy so I just glad to have the healthy thick hair without the growth!

Such a beautiful conversation. As a black woman I’ve had perms, dye, lye etc for most of my life and still struggle with the “standard” looks for black women. Even being natural we are still forced to look a certain way. The key is black women need continue to learn how to Love ourselves unconditionally inside and out🥰

From, braids, cornrows, twists, loc, curls, coils, or straight. And as long as it's neat it's just fine, and it's natural and beautiful
The bigger the curls, and the bigger the hairI LOVE IT🖤🖤

I do rollerset..I'm 16 weeks transition always always had high porosity even as a child.
I've been natural a few times.this time since my fav relaxer Phyto no longer is selling relaxers I said I might as well go natural again.
I use the Phyto line my hair grade I think it is a 4a.
After my rollerset I put some oil in my hair rub in my hair and wrap it. In the morning my roots are straight there is no need for any heat.
I'm getting trims every 2 months.
I keep the end oiled that has really helped with dryness.
Also I'm growing my color out too.. I was premature grey. So the top half my head is 90% the back in 30%. This will look very interesting in a year after all has been trimmed out.
Blessing to you content..BTW I'm in Philly..

I do think there is a standardised look with our hair. I am personally not a fan of 'baby hairs' at all. I find it strange having afro hair and imitating a loose texture around the edges. However a lot of people over the years have commented that I don't do that with my own hair. As if we all have to do the same thing.
I love this woman's hair, and I love the braids. It's very similar to mine, but I decided to install micro locs.

I am growing out my hair after cutting it off for a “grief cut”. It’s longer in a year than it was when I chopped it off myself. I do plan to trim my ends, but my hair looks amazing!
It is difficult dealing with textured hair with all of the policing of 4-textured hair. BW go through so much, starting as girls, constantly bombarded with only a certain type of textured hair that is attractive (mainly 3A/B). It’s tragic to see this globally.

As Africans we have very versatile hair we can do many different styles with our natural hair and in the end if you don't want to you just leave it natural and many people with straight hair actually perm their hair to try and get the feel of having curly hair and people with straight hair can just do a few different styles where as afro hair can do much more

Sadly black women of these days are exposed to everything that is not natural, and while I feel everyone has the right to do cornrows, weaves, perm, jerry curly etc. Many do not see the hair from their scalp as being beautiful. I have been natural since 2015 and the texture my hair has always been soft and fine and I get told if my hair was like yours would leave my hair natural. My hair is no more beautiful than the next black woman. We all need to embrace what is growing out of our scalps. Love the way you did her hair, I do wash and go but my hair is so curly and I play with it a lot and the ends always get knotted and breaks off.

I assure you , you will look back once again and realize in your 30s you were very young!!! Writing down your vision is Bibical!!!! As the Bible says write the vision and make it plain and run with it!!! In the 70 s I wore my hair in my Afro and as a black woman in america with natural hair! Went through the same issues as you ladies have probably experienced as well! I was considered as rebellious especially at my church and I sang in the choir!!! Many time I was asked to sit out and openly rebuked in front of the entire church!!! My question was why did God give me texture if it’s a sin to wear it? And when I wore braids they were the same way ! You either press that Nappy or perm it😢! However whites were offended by our Afros and I didn’t get that, but later I concluded it was sheer jealousy! I was beat into subjection to the hot comb and permanents 😢they gave me a choice you either press it straight or get out of the choir! My parents didn’t stand up for my fight the power! Black Power!!! But today I am back all natural and loving every minute of it!!! I need to sit in your Chair! All the way from America to Africa for your chair😂❤ sounds amazing to me or you come here and stay a month and I bring in customers until you return in the next 3 months!!! Gurl you are amazing!!! I love it and I love you too Mother Africa❤

I still think that we black women need to let go how a black woman should look like. If we like straight hair, wear it straight. If you like curly hair, wear it curly. If you like short afro hair, where it in an afro. If you like laid edges, lay your edges. It shouldn't matter at all, we live in the 21st century. Only black people make it such a huge issue, how black women should wear their hair. We should let go of the past what has happened to us, but that's definitely not an easy task. Many of us (including black men) are still captive of the old "slave mindset" or "slave mentality."
Personally, I don't like weaves and wigs, but I've worn them for a short period. In 2019 I made the decision, not to wear wigs and weaves anymore. I like extensions a lot and I like long natural hair. Natural hair in my definition is your own real hair, whether there is a perm in it or not.
Every style is a choice; and it's all good. ✌✌✌❤💜💙

Great video, but a lot of commercials so not too much sleepy time.
All women everywhere in the world should be able to wear their hairstyles anyway they like it... curly or straight, covered or uncovered, bald or plenty
This is planet earth and what grows or doesn't grow from our own hair head follicle; is our self expression and our privilege of life and the skin we are born in.

    3 NEGATIVES
    1. Too much shampoo
    2. Detangling with a tool creates split ends.
    3. The comment about her hair being ""knotted""
Next visit the stylist will tell her she needs to trim her split ends....
But it is the things the stylist does that contributes to the split ends.
