Although salty coffee is bad, you can make better coffee with salt. You cut half your sugar and add small amounts of salt. The salt reduces the bitterness of the coffee, then the sweetness from the sugar isn't fighting with the bitterness of the coffee. So you can use this if you have a sweet tooth but your doctor says cut your sugar intake in half. Unless your doctor also says cut your salt intake in half. There's not much point to using finishing salt with it, like Himalayan salt that is often used because it looks nice as a course grind atop food. But you can use things like Iodized salt, such as if you have an iodine deficiency.
