Feeding time!

Mama P, surrogate mother for all the orphaned chimpanzees at Tacugama, is feeding the little ones.
Due to our conservation/awareness/education efforts, more people are now aware that keeping a chimp is a crime, however the underlying problem continues and only in the last 12 months Tacugama has received 9 new rescued chimpanzees, bringing the number to an alarming 113 resident chimps, an all time high!!!. We estimate that for every baby chimpanzee that arrives in our sanctuary, up to 10 members of their family had to be killed.
We desperately need you this Giving Day for Apes to help keep our sanctuary running to care for orphaned chimpanzees who have lost so much. And for that, our staff members are essential.
