This is spot on. Central Florida native. These bass down here hate anything cold. Sunny, calm, relatively shallow... money. I will say this... find a sea wall in the winter time that the sun has been heating up. Hit it (literally) with a spinnerbait. They stack up on these walls in winter. Love the channel!
I live in WA and see the same thing. This far north, the sun is low on the southern horizon all winter. A local lake has houses on the north shore that have concrete retaining walls.
My PB 8.2lb Largemouth was caught on a flat on a cold, clear, sunny late last November afternoon. She came into the shallows and was warming herself and was either annoyed or couldn't resist my Berkley Choppo.
From September thru December, I caught more and bigger fish on calm sunny days. Air temp didn't seem to affect the bite. The fish were in more or less grouped up and eating shad. The shad did relocate depending on the air/water temps, but once I found where the bass were (shallower/further back in creeks than the shad balls I could see on sonar generally) they bit. I think on a calm sunny day they can see the bait better. Clouds and wind, it was harder for them to see what they were trying to eat. Anyway, give me calm sunny days, I don't care if it's hot or cold. This was mostly on Rayburn, but it held true on my small local lake in North Texas also. On my local lake the fish don't group up more than a few at a time, on Rayburn you could catch them until your arm fell off.
Great tip. Warrs Bar and Telico flats are good bets when its calm and gright right now . One jujst hs to wait for the right conditins and try throwing a flat sided square bill at em. Best to you and yours!
Are any of your lakes totally frozen over? Where I live they freeze, and in that phase of freezing and thawing, the fish are SUPER hard to approach. Gotta switch to ice fishing small lakes for a decent shot now.
I fish from shore here in San Diego it doesn’t matter we always have good weather. I catch all year long. Have never used a cheater box. Don’t need the help.
So you are trying to tell me don't stay away from the basement that has fish 🐟 what about tree sticking out of the water is there a good spot where they were staying in Harmony in the winter where is warmer water from the Sun ☀️
There's NOTHING worst then some dude in his GARAGE trying to teach people how to catch "winter" bass...Do you even fish?? Or just put on a good show??😢

That’s a great observation about sea walls!
