Yeah, it has burned down, and it is really sad, but most of the original parts of it are still intact so it's not really that big of a deal

@@elsefine4261 The spire isn't 800 years old. It's from the 19th century...
Indeed the fire was horrible, but it could've been much worse. So we should put things into perspective and be thankful that only the wooden roof and one window are gone. The rest is still there. and Notre Dame is still standing.
You are so lucky to have seen Notre Dame before the fire. Your drawing is more precious because you recall the cathedral as it was. My daughter visited Paris after the fire. She saw the cathedral under repair and was amazed by the effort. Thank you for showing me how to draw. Exploring and drawing buildings is on my bucket list.

I hold the pencil similar to this. It’s something that my parents and teachers didn’t correct when I was a kid. 😂

Thank you for making it easy. I take pictures of these gorgeous buildings and then never seem to be able to recreate the likeness well enough. I need the graph paper to keep straight lines and then will use your tips to simplify. Im going to check out your other videos now. Thank you.
My own experience from doodling buildings is once you get the shape and the proportion right, you're off! And even the slightest slant or slope in the wrong direction immediately transforms it into a disaster 😁Thank you very much for the tutorial! 👍🙏🏻⛪✏🖊📏

Hello Shayda,I really enjoyed this video especially since I'm just getting into drawing.Your method of using graph and carbon paper is a stroke of genius since I've always had problems getting everything in proportion which is the secret drawing.
Does this method only work on buildings or can I try it on anything else?

What on earth is that pen grip?? I tried it hoping to find a new grip when when my finger is fatigued but it feels so unnatural.

Nice. You gave a reason to buy graph paper again! I've learned to draw 'what I see' which involves a lot of measuring with my pencil. This is a great technique though for stuff I do on my own.edit I have tried transferring with carbon paper. Watching your video made me realize that I need to trace with a lighter hand because my resulting pictures tended to be too dark or smudgy.

Could you do city architecture from some different UK and/or European cities?
Just curious, why draw the doodle twice when you could lay the tracing paper on top of the graph paper? In fact, you could lay the tracing paper on top of the graph paper on top of the graphite paper on top of the bond paper - drawing the image just once.
I discovered you today and you are making me think I could learn! Do you have a video with the basic tools I should have to start?
Or if it is a sketchbook, purchase a notebook with the blue squares, it is just a sketch! If you are going to do a finished work of art, like something like pen and watercolor or colored pencil, or markers would be nice, then you can do the work, like the teachers collage, on nice thick paper, maybe even frame it? just an idea.

I went to Paris right after Notre Dame. I was so sad it was my birthday too.
I did a whole series of doodles when I took an architecture class over the summer; they're still in my notebook:) honestly, I love these doodles and they're cute but I'm a crackhead, I just use pen and not prepare anything so this process really isn't for me but do what works for you my dudes
