Pooping Buffalo I have a few PhD Architecture professors. They went to college, got their master's and their doctorate. But most have up to a master's. It's not that hard to continue education here in Brazil. It's common.
Catarina Queiroz That's super interesting. I had no idea. I'm in the United States. From what I remember in college only one university in Hawaii offers a doctorate. I was actually calling my teacher in arch studio1 professor until he told me otherwise
Pooping Buffalo It is! The Federal University is free! Actually we pay high taxes. But the basics of a developed country should be good education, right? I hope we get there someday. And if you score high enough in your Master's or Doctor's application test you can receive a scholarship and get paid to study! I don't know if foreign students can too. My husband is studying for his doctor's on a full scholarship. He can focus more on the research if he doesn't have to worry so much about how to pay the bills. :)
Actually I´m still at Highschool (in Germany) and its my dream to become an Architect. So I found your channel and I love it. I can learn so much for sketching and modelling. It makes me happy everytime doing architectual stuff and you helped me improving my skills. Thank you!

I’m in my first year of architecture and my teachers aren’t really helpful, but thanks to your video i understand everything they told me better, thank you and i hope everything goes well for you
I am a sixty year old architect and I am still learning and evolving in my profession and my understanding of architecture and life. Studying and working in architecture is a challenge but it is also an immense joy and satisfaction and I never regret it. Your videos are essential to understanding and improving one's approach to improving ones skills and building a mindframe of an architect. I know that each of us embarks on this fantastic voyage alone and it is essential to have access to lessons that teach us the realities and skills to progress and succeed in architecture. Your videos are elegant, professional, and demonstrate the high standards and satisfactions each of us must achieve.
Thank you. After almost 15 years without practising architecture, I practically have to start over and refresh my memory to get back in the business. Your channel is most useful, I'm glad I found it.
Great material Eric! I'm finishing now last year of Architecture School, your videos encourage me to never stop beleiving that being an architect with creative and outside-of-the-box vision is possible in real life!. I love your channel, love how you simply explain many aspects of something so complex as our profession. I'm devouring the material you produce and plan to continue doing it! Please don't stop! Greatings from Colombia. God bless and _Cheers_

thanks +Calvin Rogers...glad I could swoop in...only back on the grid for a few days before heading out of the country, wanted to squeeze this one in...
Thanks, too many students do not understand the importance of line weight. Not just sketching but equally important in CAD drawings. I began pushing pencils in the late '70s so in transitioning to CAD, I've always been anal requiring the same look.

thanks i am a 1st year student at Ravensbourne University London I just started studying architecture last month as i transferred after my first term in illustration so i am doing self study of the 10 weeks work at home due to corona so your videos are helping a lot.Thank you :)
Great topic and video! In 12 minute you displayed more info and skills about technical drawings than some of my professors in a semester :) Please keep it producing and share with us the good work that you are doing. Thank you !
Hey, i study architecture in Germany and : ,, all the german stuff „ really made me laugh! You‘ve just shown me what it’s really about lines and all the „smallest“ things we use to transfer sth in this passion. Thanks for reminding me of that, i almost forgot to have that in mind when i work on a Design.
This is something else....what clarity of thaughts man...awesome..BTW this comment of mine is coming from your interior design video. Kindly make a video on setting priorities while designing and developing clarity and critical thinking. This is so so helpful...can't thank you more... This is such a noble thing that you are doing. God bless you
You explained it in such great details, I really can't wait to get the items needed to start drawing😍😍😍😍. I've always been interested in drawing houses and interested in making my own floor plans, but I never take any architecture class at all so I didn't know how to draw properly, everything looks the same, because I only use 1 pensil/ pen with the same intensity when pulling it( drawing) so everything looks 2D only😥😥. Now that I've watched your video,it gives me a much better understanding on how to create 3 D design by differentiating the intensity of the pencil used. Thank you so much for sharing this video,I really appreciate what you've done, you have no idea how much this means to me 😇😇😇
I dreamt of becoming an architect since I was 10 years old. And finally, after 11 years I'm going to university to study architecture. I'm soooo.. excited!
Oh God I have the exact same pentel pencil like, same, same. I broke that bottom part too. Wishing I cold be as good as you, though. Anywayy thank you for your videos! Finally someone on the internet could help me with everything related with architecture. I'm currently on a project to design an Urban Villa (this semester's final studio project in uni) and in three weeks I'll do the dispaly for my design but I still got a lot to do (I'm still working on the floor plan). Good luck to you!
after 47 years of drawing, i very rarely sketch, i scribble. I scribble good enough to get my idea where I can go right to cad. There are two of us and we did 250 projects last year. One thing I have learned, buildings today do not last forever. Another local architect designed 3 buildings for a new start up bank. He spent a lot of time with the design and was meticulous with all of the details and selected a beautiful brick. The bank was sold and the first thing the new bank did was add these stupid decals with different sized dots. The bank was sold again and the new bank painted the brick tan and brown, and added awnings. There you have it.
I am not an architect, but rather I am an artist. Nevertheless, I find your channel of great value. Something that has puzzled me for some time is the math behind foreshortening. I know for instance if a beam points mostly straight at the viewer, the end facing the viewer will appear out of perspectively large. I also understand that because this is something that occurs in a photograph, it must have a mathematical formula that explains it. I think that this would be of great help not only to me as an artist, but to architects as well. Anyone striving for a realistic representation of a concept drawing could benefit from this. Therefore, I respectfully request that you make a show on the algorithms of foreshortening.

Thank you so much for sharing this video,I really appreciate what you've done, you have no idea how much this means to me 😇😇😇
Awesome Video! You and your videos encouraged me to create a channel, do what I love, and help people save their best gift, THEIR TIME. Thank you!
One of my favorites so far. Thanks Eric.
+1, thx!
Thanks for making such videos. I took a drafting class before... I am getting more into myself. What interesting thing that relate of. Thanks
I dreamt of becoming an architect since I was 10 years old. And finally, after 11 years I'm going to university to study architecture. I'm soooo.. excited!
enjoy it! i count architecture school among the greatest of my life's experiences...
Annie S is their a university for becoming an architect in Chicago or Illinois
Great content, but am I the only one that's impressed with the clean editing and layout of the videos?
Thanks for sharing your technique very simple and easy to understand.
Great work, so clean. Thanks for share
You are getting me through My finals in grad school! Thank you so much for these videos!
Amazing video, thank you for showing in a easy way some os struggles of our profession. I'm from Brazil, and always looking for your videos.
Loved this one and just watched Simplicity from 2 years ago..excellent. You can go back on holidays now.:-)
