- We have been looking for a good DashCam for our motorbikes that will keep recording while we are riding (just in case) something happens and of course to help us record our tours.
We think we have found the ideal solution!
We bought them from eBay and there are plenty to choose from, so there is something for everyone!
If you liked the video, remember to give us a thumbs up as it helps a ton, and don't forget to subscribe too, so you don't miss anything!

if the cams have AF it may explain the rear cam being out of focus as it appears to focus on the top box. Looks like a very good bit of kit though!
Informative video!.. just bought a bike with dashcam fitted, trying to work out what all the buttons do..
Great stuff, think Michael Williams is right the GPS will add location but also speed direction of travel etc. This can be used as evidence along with the footage, lots of people don’t fit the GPS thinking their speed or speeding could be identified in any accident. Is it hardwired into the Canbus?
SouthWest 6031 yes it is wired in to the Canbus system.
Gps antenna is for, speed, location, date, time, year. It is not for tracking your bike
thansk for the info
great video. Can you get it to create two separate files, one for front and one for rear or is picture in picture the only option?
Yep, it creates 2 files, one for front and one for rear and you can download them separately.
@@RiderCamTV great, thanks
Another good vid...BUT....the “download cable” is in fact a test cable so that you can ensure everything is in working order before you install.....it works via WiFi for download using their app. As for the twin buttons (Toby referenced them in another video) they both do the same thing, not as he said one for the front-cam, one for the back rear-cam. The gps unit isn’t a tracker but acts as a location stamp for evidence etc. Don’t forget: many people take you both at your word without question, so please work out the facts before videoing. Keep up the good work. Show parade at 18:00 and 20:00 for the next week.
I just installed a similar cam system on my GSA. You should check out my mounting positions. I think you will like where I mounted the cameras.
Nacho Rolling send us a picture. Safe riding
Mark Holroyd how? I don’t see an email address

Once again gents great video. I enjoy watching it. I,M not very good with electric. Great thing to put on the bike. I do have them in our car. Looking forward to seeing you next video. Again keep up the great work and ride safe gent's.
thanks for the kind words James. It really does mean a lot to us both... Ride safe :)
I'm actually going to have a go at fitting something similar to my 1HP 'Rosie' (Pony and 4 wheel cart)
pam Thompson-Clarke-Reynolds-Bowers-Burton stay off Em the roads, problem solved 😶
Hi Guys
Lovely to see you both fit and on it as usual.
All the very best and continued success, regards from David ex CBB now living in Berkshire.
David Wheaton Mr David! Great to hear from you.
Hey David, great to hear from you, hopw you are doing well and still riding... all the best buddy :)
Another great video guys, i can see why you went for this version over the INNOVV K2 version which you can buy over here..The price difference is staggering. On another note for kit, i came across this "Wunderlich Rider seat lowering kit R1200GS LC/ADV LC/RT LC, S1000XR,K1600, R1250GS/Adventure" at NN for us vertically challenged GS riders. The bungs (for want of a better word) takes 10mm of seat height, and now instead of just the balls of my feet in contact with the ground i have 1/2 my foot firmly planted.
cool, thanks for the kind words and also the info too. ride safe
Nice one guys. I’ve just bought a very similar bit of kit from a very similar platform and I plan to fit it this weekend. I couldn’t tell from the video, but I assume you connected the psu module straight to the battery? In which case it draws a little current all the time. Any issues with battery drain if you leave the bike in the garage for a week?
I had the Innov K1 on one my bikes and I originally bought it as a way to automatically record rides without having to manually do anything. Although good as a dashcam the quality wasn't good enough for a "trip recording" camera. A friend has the new K2 and the footage from that is particularly good either, other than as a dashcam.
Kryten L I have a K1 fitted at the moment and given what it cost I’m not very impressed. Far too susceptible to electrical interference. I certainly won’t be getting a K2 when you’ve got cameras like this for less than £50.
thanks for the info.... not sure if this will be good enough quality to record tours, but still testing, so you never know :)
Great video fellas, as is your usual first class content in all you videos - the one bit you missed out was the wiring into the CanBus wiring harness. You said it connects direct to the battery and we see in the video two wires and half shell connectors. But if you connect it direct to the battery and switch it on (under the back seat) it is on all the time! Then you mention that it only comes on when you switch the ignition on, but if that is so, it must be wired into the CanBus wiring harness at some point! Can you advise please ie BMW CanBus system, where do you wire it in? From Smithy in Sydney
Philip1949S hiya, we got a BMW mechanic at Ocean BMW to fit it for us as we would have cut something we shouldn’t have... He did tell us that he wired it to the battery and the Canbus but if there was a drain on the battery then we should just remove it. I hope that makes sense?
@@markholroyd5365 A great review, once again. I bet there are other people out there, too, who (including myself) are interested in how to connect the wires.
Thanks for nice video. It’s M6 series dash cam from V-SYS Technology. And we noticed you haven’t mention about Wi-Fi connection which allow you to watch and download videos with your cellphone. Now we upgrade it to P6 series which is full body waterproof and new lens bracket (much easier for horizontal and vertical view angle adjustment).
V-SYS Motorcycle Camera System can you answer if the rear camera can be upgraded to 1080?
Hi V-SYS Motorcycle Camera thanks for the comments and glad you enjoyed the vid.
@@markholroyd5365 If you want dual 1080P system, you can check our M2F, P6FL/P6F model. Both cameras are equipped with SONY IMX323 sensor.
V-SYS Motorcycle Camera System . Can you answer what us the Can interface for? Does BMW have an input for dash cams?
Good review chaps and I'll be interested in seeing how reliable they are. I had a single channel bikecam from Innov that didn't last long so ended up getting a RoadHawk Ride with the moto pack that's been 100% reliable now for the last 2 years but that's only 720p and single channel and was more expensive than yours.
thanks buddy. will keep you posted as we test it.....
Thank you boys. Great stuff
Can you read number plates with both the 1080 and 720 cameras? Seen lots of discussion about front & rear dashcams for bikes, everyone seems to want 1080 both front and rear so that vehicle number plates can be read clearly. If it passes muster it looks like a winner!
It's not brilliant, but with you can read plates at speeds of 30 mph each way (i..e if the bike's doing 30 mph, and the car approaching is doing 30 mph). Would depend on the precise circumstances of the impact but I'd expect you'd always be able to capture the number plate. This is in daylight riding.
can read the number plates with both cameras, although the 1080p one is much better.... the 720 camera is ok but not that good, although for a dashcam on the bike its ok
Just thought I would throw this out there for your Back to Basics series. How to fit a helmet . ??? Was thinking it would b good or helpful for beginners or even people that just may be doing it wrong.
Mark Lloyd Hiya Mark, thanks for that idea.
thats a great idea, thanks Mark... watch this space :)
Cracked me up.. "We are All Bikes Addition" Love it..
Update I bought the dv688 system and they came with BOTH 1080p cameras. Just looking for an ‘ignition’ live now
I watch this hoping I would figure out how to hook the darn thing up.
I bought a similar American brand name made in China with piss poor instructions version.
Unfortunately you didn’t show how the snakes wedding sorted out.
Question 1 did you wire the + - direct to the battery? My minimal instructions imply this is the way to go. However I suspect this could lead a flat battery.
Mine had a 3rd red wire marked acc. does your if so what did you do with it?
Did you have to cut any wires to graft in? To an ignition live?
Again something I am reluctant to do.
Hi John, in the video we showed the connections. You need to connect the live to battery live (on our bikes we have the live point outside of the battery) and then the negative wire to negative on the battery. The other wire (for the ignition live - to power it up and down when the ignition is turned on and off) is connected to the can us on the BMW, as we showed with the piggy back plug. We didn’t have to cut any wires, just add rings to the end to connect to the battery and then the (fold over clip to clamp down on the ignition wire) so no cutting... we didn’t want to cut anything either but was a straight forward fit once we figured out which was the ignition wire :)

Thanks your explanation was really helpful, and I found your later video.
Hey guys, I placed an order for the INNOVV K2 just because of your video, today. I will install the K2 on a BMW R1250 GSA and I'm wondering if you have any recommendations on cabling/connecting the K2 to the BMW GS Canbus/power system? Your support is much appreciated! Enjoy your rides, Mike
great choice buddy. we got our local dealer to connect it to the canbus purely as as you know BMW's can be tempermental sometimes and we wanted to make sure that it worked and didnt effect anything.
What information is exchanged on the can bus? What connection is it? The gps? Dvr?
Thanks for the video, please keep us posted on water resistance.
no probs Fazer... will do
that set up looks good is it still working now
Jon Green yes it is
Hi guys, doesn't the GPS tell the system where the footage is being taken? And you never know, it might even give you the time of day on your footage.
yep it will do but we didnt want to add that to the system...
I wanted something small and compact as a dashcam for my Triumph America, but, there’s not alot of spare room to be had under the seat and was a bit worried whether the Innovv K2 system on the America would fit....It was tight but snuck it next to the air intake and the power unit under the seat clip on the tank, soldered the ignition wire in place and live and earth, it turns on and off with the ignition and can download any footage from the 1080p front and back camera to my phone 👍 totally waterproof!! 👍 was that a plug? 👌🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍 Thanks for sharing tho guys 👍 2 ends of the spectrum? 🤷♂️😎😎
thats sounds good. we will do an update soon to let people know how they are perfoming.... :)
Problem I'm finding with these... As demonstrated at the end... They are not HD. That front facing is barely 360p. The rear one... VGA quality. Same problems with cheap car dashcams. Seems fine. Then you need to read a numberplate and no chance. . .
For £90 I'd expect better tbh.
Is there a link to this camera though so maybe I can check over reviews?
There may be an issue with how RUclips replays the video. It’s fine in reality.
@@markholroyd5365 RUclips only plays the quality you upload. I played the video on the highest resolution possible. On a decent full HD screen.
Good video blog chaps. Looks like an interesting bit of kit. I guess it loops once the memory card is full so potential for all day recording...
Plugged into the bikes electronics means no batteries to charge so a further bonus. Let's see how long it lasts and get another video blog at the end of season with your thoughts.
Well done again for an informative video - keep up the good work.
thanks Nick.. will see how it goes. it does as you say, loop the recording and you can set the intervals so that the files arent massive.... and so far where one recording stops and the new one starts, there isnt any lag either :)
Do you still have this connected to the bike? If so Do you have any footage of it on unsealed dirt roads / tracks?
Great device . Obviously installed on the bikes by geniuses. Can I get this in the states ? Thank u Toby & Mark for another great feat in cinematography at the worldwide headquarters of RiderCam .
hey Mark, thanks so much for the kind words. Im sure you can get it shipped to the US.
does law require to keep those visible? thanks! U great guys;)
hi, good video and info, is it possible to up grade the rear camera to 1080.
regards
Geoff :)
Geoff Cornelius see the reply from the supplier below. Ride safe
Hi - you don't give a link to the camera you bought (which would have been nice). There's a score of similar ones on Ebay of course. But you'll know how the quality and internals vary on seemingly identical electronics from China. Second thing I'd ask is how the cameras perform at night? My old Drift Stealth2 hd was excellent and gave very useful video even on unlit roads the headlamp was sufficient. The cheap camera I'm using at the moment is useless in the dark - even under street lights all that can be seen is a light area from the headlight. So I'd like to find something better, but the cost of the stealth 2 or latest Drift cams is prohibitive (I'd hoped miine would last a couple more years yet).
they dont appear to be for sale on ebay at the moment, or if they are it is hard to provide a permanent link.. the company have sent us an updated one, so watch out for the fitting and review in a few weeks :)
Hi, thanks for the video, got bumped last week so better late than never to fit cams, what was the name of the system you fitted.
Mine from ebay is a piece of junk ruclips.net/video/6qMluLvmRXA/видео.html
Great review, I looked for the link to where you purchased, however not seeing it...??
it was from eBaY, there are loads on there but the link will have expired now :(
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorbike-Camera-Dual-Dash-Cam-Video-Wide-Angle-DVR-Camcorder-with-GPS-UK/173299575557?hash=item285975ab05:g:b8cAAOSwmEJa6s-W
Not sure why you couldn't thread the rear through the back end - could on mine. It's sits just above the rear light.
because of the size of the connector that is integral, we didnt want to drill holes as it just wouldnt go through :(
@@RiderCamTV Mmm. will have to look at mine again. Possibly I just brought up it under my wunderlich gap bag,
Guys i have recently purchased the one without the screen fitted it and for whatever reason cannot connect thr app to view the footage onnthe phone. So you know if there is a UK helpdesk number or any connectivity advice at all? Thanks guys
Considering there are many strange laws around dashcams in Europe, even being completely illegal in some countries....might be worth a word or two about that ;-)
thats very true, will look at that and see whats what! Great idea for a new video
@@RiderCamTV Invoice is in the post ;-)
newbe girl question Can I install it myself? :) CBR bike, and any link where I can get it , also could I share your video to a bikers page ?
Yep of course you can... 1 connection to the negative, one to the positive and one to the ignition live and you are good to go! We would love you to share the video, share away :) Ride safe
does it record in 5 min segments
Nice review, interesting and good banter between both of you. Well done!
thanks buddy :)
Good evening chaps, good to see the humour is in plentiful lol
What’s your thoughts on the thinkware M1 dual dash cam
thansk buddy. They are good, although we havent tried them on the bike as yet.... they are meant to be really good though
Good video guys. I have a INNOVV K1 fitted and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone when you can get cameras like this for under £50. The INNOVV hardware is too prone electrical interference.
interesting information DervMan. Had looked at that model but then this one popped up.
Does the camera loop the videos continually? Can you download the card to an iPad?
Kevin Stover hiya yes it loops and you can remove the sd card to download. There is also a WiFi facility as well.
Can I ask how did you wire it into the CamBus?
Hampstead Motorcyclists Hiya, we got a BMW mechanic to do it for us as the bike is still under warranty. We would probably have cut something....
Thanks Mark - I'd be too scared to do it also. Cheers, Mark
Hi as the camera system has been on the bike over a year now ,how is it holding up?? Do the camera's remain clear with road grit/debris on them assuming you ride year round?
They usually stay clean. I got one off ebay for £22. 2 channel one like this. They are brilliant and can help with insurance discounts. Just make sure you ride completely legally and following all laws as the footage can go against you
Cool simple like it
Does the usb let you view the cameras live?
what make or have you a link please as to where to buy cheers
we bought a generic one on ebay from China, although there are lots available.. we have looked and the link is not available anymore, but we used the search term Motorbike dual camera dashcam
Got mine from Aliexpress - took 4 months to arrive!!
is that Alien Express, must have gone round the cosmos on the way to you.... hehhehehee
Hi Gents. Great video yet again. Very informative
thanks for the kind words David. glad you enjoyed the video :)
Could one of you guys fit one on my bike. I'd be happy to pay you. I'm in Dorset. Ridercam
Now there’s an offer, ride safe
Is the video quality really as bad as it looks? If that front camera is 1080p I would be amazed maybe it is compression or RUclips destroying it. (video of presenters looks fine)
I think it may be the RUclips compression as the video itself is good quality
Does it have motion detection? E.g. to detect traffic officers
it does have a parking mode but hasn't got a traffic officer detection mode
Nice little contraption 👍
Nice one chaps. Thanks
thanks Liam
“Snakes Wedding” a good old Naval term. I haven’t heard anyone say that (other than me) in years!
What brand is the unit?
its unbranded as a Chinese make bought from eBaY
@@RiderCamTV Thanks, where can I purchase one of those snazy RIderCamTV shirts?
@@RiderCamTV Thanks!
Had a look at these a few months back, was not convinced they were waterproof as they sold a separate casing for it which looked like an afterthought, also 720p on the rear is not great in this day and age, wiring looked a bit flakey and figured this to be a typical cheap Chinese knock off the British company that first developed this solution that has now gone down the tubes, anyhow would be good to get an update on how you get on with these, I personally went with the Innovv K2, built like a brick, waterproof and 1080p back and front, this was, however, after a failed experience with the NextBase Ride which just steamed up in the sun and permanently on which just flattened the battery, keeps us posted
Are you referring to Nortex? I think they've still going, just that they don't sell the Bike Bro anymore. Tbh, I'm not convinced it wasn't simply chinese re-branded anyway - the same sort of thing was available from aliexpress.
Mine's has had no issue with water ingress, and continues to work fine after 2 years. That said, it is a bit of flaky - gps sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, ditto sound. The footage isn't great quality though it's good enough for a purpose. In summary, it's okay but that's all.
I did look at the Innov K2 at the time but the camera's looked a little larger, plus there had been some issues reported with the system.
@@samsara3694 Yes
Yes, i think it was Nortex, either way, I think no matter where its made all the bits come from China these days, will see how the K2 goes at least they have a UK outlet now so returning it should be a problem, when I bought it just blurted out on their web chat, thing I wanted a discount code and got another 10squid knocked off
will do buddy. first impressions so far are good... good quality footage from the 1080p and ok footage from the 720p camera
Good video guys
thanks Lyn
Where is the link?
haven't got one as the eBay listing ended, but we searched for motorbike 2 channel dashcam and it brought up loads..
the remote with 2 red buttons records audio to.
Great video
Thanks!
Move the rear camera - it focuses on the mudguard/fender that's why everything else is blurry - it's out of focus.
Came here to say the exact same thing, move the camera !
dashcam is junk ruclips.net/video/6qMluLvmRXA/видео.html
Hey just found you guys,subbed
Hey James, welcome to the channel and thanks for the Sub... hope you enjoy :)

hehehehe, thanks buddy
Don’t forget, the video evidence can be used against you as well.
it certainly can indeed
That is most definitely not good. Really poor definition and blotchy image, that is never a true 1080.
