Was at the half way point, loved my width, needed to add length. Could not find videos teaching that. Asked hubby his opinion. Just imagine deer in headlights look! Ha ha! Then I found your video. It confirmed what I thought would be the correct way. Thank you for going all the way to end with it and putting together a great video. Proves you can teach an old dog new tricks. Crocheting over 53 years.
Perfect tutorial! Thank you so much. I'm really loving C2C. I've got 2 C2C blankets going, one is a square and the second one is a baby blanket which now I will do as a rectangle. So ingenious! Whoever came up with this technique is brilliant. Many thanks for your simple instructions, straight forward and to the point, like it should be 👍❤️
Thank you. Your instructions and video are both clear, concise and non- fussy. I was stuck on the decresse. Ha. Made a lovely shawl. Not my goal. Wanted a twin blanket. Finally, it is coming to shape.
I am right handed but you are so incredibly amazing & thoughtful for also posting videos for left handers. My daughter is left handed (she has only 1 arm but its in your brain and not your limbs that determines whether a person is left or righ handed). ❤
That's awesome. We actually have quite a few left handed students in my classes, so videos for left handed people is part of my "need" list. Big hugs to you and your family! xx!
Omg!!! Thank you. I am doing my first c2c rectangle and could not find anything to help me understand decreasing on one side. And I could not figure out why my work was giving pointed corners on the end. I was decreasing on the beginning of each row. This made so much more sense!!! Thank you thank you thank you!
Thankyou so so much I understand it. You taught me how to do my first c2c square now my friend want a c2c rectangle with every color I have in my craftroom so I said okay and was thinking omg it will be heard but again you make easy to understand. 💋💋💜💜🐶stay safe and huge hugs my dear friend.
Thank you so much for these tutorials. I have done c2c before but never knew how to do the decrease rows to form a square or rectangle. Most helpful. Be blessed!
Thank-you for showing us how to make C2C rectangle. Always wanted to make one. You made it look so simple that, I plan to make one this year. Have a out 4 different Afghans going now. So, I have to finish them first.
Yeah, I’ve made my rectangle 60” n get to decrease. Thanks Christa for your tutorial. Next is a blanket in stripes. I was attempting a blanket using larkfoot, but the pattern and I were fighting-were c2c and I are humming along nicely😊😊
Dear Christa, somehow I lost u on the rectangle.i followed u well starting the rectangle. But on the decreasing I got very confused. What if I want to make a scarf? Do u have a more extensive video? I love this pattern. It looks so pretty. And I started it in red. So it's very pretty. But,I'm stuck. Lol.
Thanks so much! I really enjoyed these tutorials! Thanks also for telling us to use our own judgment on whether to slip into that first stitch when decreasing. I felt compelled to do so! Lol!
Thank you for this video. I like the way you use the markers. I'm making my first graphgan using directions instead of the graph. After row 90, it says reduce from the right..Do I assume row 91 is the beginning of the right side? Then after row 100, reduce from the left.Again, is row 101 the left side? I hope you can help me out. Thank you.
Can you give us some gidelines on when to start decreasing (both times) when you have a limited amount of yarn? (Example: would you have enough yarn when you start decreasing on one side when you’ve used 1/3rd of your yarn and start the second decrease when you have used 2/3rd of your yarn?)
Hi Monique! With a rectangle, it's a tricky one. You just have to guess. I imagine the best way to calculate is to weight the piece when you are starting the first decrease. That would give you a good idea of how much yarn you will need to save for the final decrease. Hope that helps? xx!
I'm making a twin aphghan as you know so when I get this as wide as the mattress or as wide as I want I decrease on the width and keep going on the length for as long as I want to, right?
Christa thank you for the wonderful tutorial. I've always made square C2C. I was wondering where you bought the wonderful container of stitch markers. I love the colors and quantity. Thanks again!
I am making my first c2c. I have reached row 90 and ready to decrease. It says Reduce from the right. Is row 91 the beginning of the right side? Thank you.
Ok I’ve decided to do the rectangle and make a small laphgan. I only gave 6 balls of Bernat blanket yarn so can you tell me how I would know when it’s a long as it can be. Would I just stop making it longer after I’ve used the third ball and start decreasing? Txs 🙂
Hi Evelyn! I would stop before the third ball is over - perhaps 1/3 finished. Just in case the yardage is different. Plus it leaves some to make the first row of the border. :D xx!
Hi Christa, I have to say i have Enjoyed your Pod Cast I ansussilly wait for a new one all the time ....Love your Family and the clips of places there ...Think You do a wonderful cast about there and with me being handicaped i can travel all over anyway a great Thank you for all your teaching,,,Could you Post a little more elabraint Trim For Cal Thanks So Much Aleta Sneed
I have made the C2C before but always in a square. I’m trying to do the rectangle. I have been watching many videos to figure out what I’m doing wrong on my decrease side and still can’t seem to figure out why my second decrease side has a small indent. I’m missing something....help please 😬 TIA
I seem to do the decrease for the first "no build" side of the rectangle just fine. My problems begin when I start decreasing on both sides to finish the rectangle. I learned to chain 3 up the side of the decrease, then SS into the chain of the first "mountain" instead of SS up the side. The problem I have is that I don't seem to decrease quickly enough and my last corner ends up elongated, a sort of funnel shape, if you can imagine that. I've frogged this corner about 3 times now and it's driving me MAD! I count, I add stitch markers, I do everything but stand on my head. I'll do that as best I can if necessary. Anyone have any ideas?
ok I have done a couple of lap blankets in c2c before but long ago. just cant remember. ok when I get wide enough. to do the decrease on both sides it won't keep getting longer right. cuz when I get wide enough I will still want longer. so do I just decrease 1 side
@@SecretYarnery ok I just now re watch the video. ok I got wide enough now on decrease side I do the slips then turn and chain only 3, but on increase side I still chain 6 right
almost to the end of increase then I can decrease both sides. I just have to keep watching u couple of times every other day make sure I doing right. I will end after decrease with 68" x44". then I will put a little border of other color to add about 4" around. and end up with 4' x 6'
I couldn't help myself..lolol I let out a big TAAADAAAA! lolol when you finished. I cant wait to add or do the graphgan with this. I know you mentioned it would come probably in the fall?? Its going to be very fun and exciting! maybe we can learn hot to design our own pattern for the graph and have a Cal doing that..I dunno but I'm tickled over here in Cali!! HUGS CHRISTA! Thanks for making this so easy peasy
For sure, Kathleen! That would be fun. No chart yet... need more hours in the day, but ideally I have a chart for every pattern. (#lifegoals) Here are the stitch markers I use: amzn.to/2K7XGm1 Cheaper too, because you get two sets. :D
The Secret Yarnery THANKS bunches Christa (ok :/ almost done it twice ..three times lol I can everyone I consider a friend sis or love LOL being careful not yo offend.. X's friend oh, & if there's any way I can help with the plan let me know. I'd love to help if I can :-D
I'm having trouble ending up with the right amount to decrease at end of row. Everything goes with pattern count. Starts out with the right number of blocks in the color. But ends up one block short. Anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong?
You don't need stitch markers. It becomes obvious what you're going to do and where the further you go. I've never used stitch markers for any version of this pattern.
