That first guy had chains on and he couldn't get around. Either his vehicle is bad in the snow or he can't drive.....or both. Having fun with ya 😘 all. Keep the ❄ out there please!!

Backwards worked and I made it home with an ice-beard two inches thick!

no greater waste of time than a two wheel drive suv. its the cheaper version but it will disappoint you when you need it.

yuppp, I never understood why someone would buy an suv if it’s 2wd. If you don’t need or live in a area where awd is recommended, just get a sedan, same space, just lower. Then again they nEeD the visibility and height.

A lot of people think that but then I remind them that the winter Olympics were held in California in 1960. Right now on Donner Summit the snow is about 10' deep and while that is above average, it is by no means unusual. The highest mountain in the continental U. S. is in California- Mount Whitney. Sugar Bowl ski resort (on Donner Summit) has had 350" of snowfall so far this winter and it's snowing hard right now. But at the same time people are surfing in southern California. It's a big diverse state. Trouble is, most people don't live in the Sierra Nevada mountains- they drive here and you're absolutely right- they don't know what to do in the snow.

Actually they are very up to date on how to handle snow in this part of the country. If you noticed there were plenty of winter equipped 4 wheel drive vehicles with chains and extra fuel tanks. I’m not sure if you are aware but this part of the country gets plenty of snow, as a matter of fact California is a lot more than San Diego and LA. There are parts of California that get even more snow than Boston does in a year.

Was stuck in Reno for 6 days when it got bad in early December. I love the snow and we need it but I won't be driving in it. I understand that some people have no choice. We carry chains but if chains are required to travel my company says stay put. Not worth the headache of going up just to get turned back and the risk of crashing isn't worth it to me either.
