I must inform you that there is a different version of the novelization of "Honey, I Blew Up the Kid." It was written by Todd Strasser and there was more in that version compared to B.B. Hiller's version. I recommend you find that version. Also, there are two versions of the novelization to the first film. One was written by Hiller as well, and another written by Elizabeth Faucher. I recommend Faucher's version.
Thanks for this! I noticed there were two versions as I was adding it into Goodreads. Sucks I got the lesser of the two, but happy to be 50% of the way there now, lol. Thanks for the great info, Emanuel!
Awesome book finds! This was a fun different video. I personally prefer the more movie companion books but have some of the junior novelizations myself. My favorites are the Mighty Duck ones I have I purchased from Cinema Sickness quite awhile ago. The Jurassic Park ones and the Super Smash Bros one you grabbed are my favorites from your haul. That Freddy vs Jason is pretty sweet and that’s crazy the Halloween one goes for so much. Didn’t realize the value was there for those type of books.
Thanks so much, man! I absolutely have to track down a Mighty Ducks junior novel now. Absolutely love that series. Thanks for the tip! And for watching!
Many of the 80s horror film novelisations fetch high prices online. Also, the cult 80s films, too (eg.Goonies). 80s novelisations were great as there was a good chance they contained deleted scenes or ones that couldn't be film due to budget restraints.
The script for Jaws 2 was revised so heavily (after filming had already started) that one of the screenwriters credited on the book wasn't mentioned in the movie's credits anymore. While it's interesting to read and to spot the differences and the overlaps to the movie, I was quite annoyed by Searls' attempt to make it a sequel to both, the original novel and it's film version which makes it inconsistent to both in the end. Searls also wrote the novelization to Jaws - The Revenge. The novelization of the first Species movie was also written by Yvonne Navarro. I was lucky to have actress Natasha Henstridge sign my copy (German edition) at a convention a few years ago and she mentioned it was the first time ever for her to sign a book.
Brilliant finds there. And nice video. All very good. I keep putting off recent novelisations thinking they might show up in secondhand stores, but I'm worried they won't and end up pricey online! I have yet to get my hands on Jaws 2 and Mortal Kombat. Thanks for the video, subscribed! 😎
