Man I could watch an hour straight of just mowing. Talking or no talking. Doesn't matter if it's all drone or all on board footage, or a mix of both. There is something therapeutic about the sights and sounds of a tractor in a field. And I'm serious. I could watch an hour straight.
Also me as well :-)that’s some beautiful grass also
Me too
The only thing missing is the smell!
There's no denying it - THAT's a great day of farming. I'm so glad that the new calf is doing just fine. Only the 'murder drone' put a slight damper on the day.
Hilarie’s laugh and The music at the end though. ❤
My 3 year old daughter and I watch all the time, she just calls your channel "cows". Thumbs up
3 of pete's favorite words(and us viewers too) "come on 🐃cows🐂🐮" !!
So do I and I am a lot older than 3
I watch it with my granddaughter and we both say hello back to Pete when he says ‘hello I’m Pete’ 😂
@@eileenmcdonald1599 👍🤣🤣
Thank you for inviting us into your office yes I now live in a retirement community spent my entire life on a farm THANK YOU for allowing me to walk with you ❤❤❤❤❤
To me, this is the American dream!
I truly enjoy your videos! I know it is a lot of trouble setting up the cameras and all the editing that’s required, but watching you cutting hay is very relaxing to me. Thank you for your channel, I never miss one. Thanks Pete.
You're welcome Bill!
Yes Pete I like your videos too. They're so relaxing keep up the good work, and it's always nice to see Hillary working along with you. You make a good team. Rht
There's days that I enjoy "no talking". The quiet with the sound of the tractor is therapeutic. Makes me feel like I'm right there. And there's times when you use the drone, enjoy that too. And there's times you talk through the video. Enjoy that too. I also enjoy Hillary!!
I missed that prayer that I always said when taking vintage equipment to the field for the first time of the season and that is “Lord please get me thru one more season with this old equipment “.
Pete knows his tractors inside and out. There is no doubt his old tractor will perform perfectly. Now, MY old tractor is a different story!
I was always confident the tractor would make it. The haybine was a different story. She never let me down but I always said the prayer
@@deancharles1470 I think Pete also keeps his auxiliary equipment in working order as well. I only have a tractor, shredder, and auger to maintain. Boy, that was a lot of grass he cut!
I have to say , your getting good at making video's.
Good morning, Pete. We can't tell you how much we enjoy all of your videos . There is just something so peaceful about watching the animals, you moving the hay, and I even enjoy the tractor 🚜 rebuilds. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to share your videos with us all.😊
❤❤❤❤
You are the most beautiful, ma'am, stay well
If you sold tickets to ride along with you when you’re cutting hay, I would be the first to buy one 🎟️ It must smell soooo good!!! ☀️💕👍🏻
I would be right behind you in line to buy a ticket!!!
So different from when I was young, I first drove the horse drawn hay rake then later I would drive the hat wagon, HOT days in the hay fields !
That would be an awesome day. Just watch out for that murder drone lol
I’ve made hay for over 50 years this year. I’ve never once thought about selling tickets and honestly I don’t know anyone who would pay to ride along with me. Pete must make hay a lot different than I do.
@@TreverDuncan 🤣🤣 I know, so silly 😜
As a teenager I remember a Hereford calf being stillborn or so we thought. That old cow turned around, stuck her nose under the calf and flung it in the air over and over. There was nothing but hooves, and tail flailing about, round about the fifth flip the calf left out a small bleat, and came to life. It was running around, nursing a half hour later. Mom knows best I guess! Spent many summer days mowing hay with a Massey Ferguson 150 with a New Holland 6' sickle bar mower, and an International crimped offset behind, we were too poor to afford a haybine. Good times!
I use to work for Massey Ferguson in sales making sure the farmers get the tractors or heathers they need for they farm. Still have a mini in the glass cabinet.😊 ❤
What a great story. Thank you for it!
I love the real life stories on this channel. I leave some to
Was a little teary eyed until you verified the calf was breathing. Having spent many hours caring for 3 wonderful grandsons with Rosemarie I appreciate life more and more. What could be better than an old red tractor that can actually be used? Overhead views great. Beautiful natural canvas as usual. Must be great to sit outside at end of day and look out over the fields. Hope you, Hil and family have great week! I know I use the word “great” too much.
That will be some sweet hay in the winters! Why does a 84 year old lady watch a farmer? I grew up watching uncles farming and my father was a part time farmer with a cub farmal tractor that is how I learned to drive at 10 years old! This brings back many memories! Thank you!
S
Wouldn't it be cool if we all had a father, brother, son, husband or significant other like Pete? I know my world would be a better place -- for now, I appreciate living vicariously through his videos. Thanks Pete!
Good way to mark the end of seasonal depression on the farm. Love this time of the year.
I am also a farmer and in my experience it puts you so close to realness.you see life and death good days and bad days it gives you a reason to pray and it makes you very thankful I love your videos Pete keep cranking them out❤
Oh these are beautiful shots from the drone Pete, just magical.❤
This doesn't get old at all soothing. Just remember when I was 16 and 17 I worked for a farmer/ neighbor doing field work with his 756 and his 856 back in 73 ish.ive always wanted to be a farmer but in that time farmers were having their land taken away! It was a bad time to farm.the farmer also milked 35 to 40 cows..he had no kids and his wife was a school teacher...great people. Always enjoyed your videos
Thank you for not putting any music on for talking over. Natural sounds so much better I appreciate it
Yay for Coco's sweet calf ❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of my two favorite times of the year. The other, watching the cows go out on to pasture for the first time of the new season. I would cut hay for free, so enjoyable! I love your channel, Pete. Thank you.
Great to see you and Hillary in your Happy Place smiling and laughing. Thanks for the sounds of Pete in his Happy Place. 👍👍👍
“Making hay while the sun shines.” I hadn’t thought about the history of that, but it’s so clear from watching your haying videos. Like all farmers over the centuries, you try to forecast the weather so that the freshly cut hay will remain dry until enough days lying in the field have passed for it to be collected into bales and stored without mold setting in. An anxious time, hoping for that sunshine until the hay is safely stored.
That tractor’s engine is a fine, smooth machine all right. It must feel even more satisfying using it since you have extended its working life and know every part of it, maintaining and replacing.
One minute into the video and you already get a big ol' thumbs up from me. I loved seeing Coco successfully have her calf!
Nothing like watching Pete cut hay while listening to Dan Tyminski sing " Making Hay".
Thank you for your videos you and your wife do a great job. Thank you for no background music. I like watching and hearing in true time. Those are the best sounds of the farm.
Love it and only one thing missing thé smel
Wow, this brought back memories of having to help by FIL pull calves when momma cow couldn't quite get the job done. The kids really should enjoy the delivery process. What a miracle!
The aerial shots of the farm are beautiful. It's so true that we should make hay while the sun shines.
Yay new calf and first hay cutting.
What a great way to start a day. Just woke up and we're cutting hay. You're dead on about the tractor engine, and the editing choices are excellent. Thenk you for taking the time to have this out to us this quickly.
I love watching hay being made. I don’t know why but it’s satisfying to me. 😊
As always, thank you both for sharing your lives with us. Even when Pete mouth is closed you still learn something. My youngest son really enjoyed this one, and so did I.
I really, really like seeing the vintage Farmall tractors working. You know what they say make hay!
Pete,
You have no idea how much enjoyment that this channel brings me.😊
Watching your videos, says American. What our country was built from. Thanks for taking the time. Always do what makes you happy.
Love watching you cut hay Pete, especially the aerial shots. Seeing you get that last little patch is so satisfying. Sorry about your injury. Your concern about showing it to us was hilarious. 😂
Dang Pete! You're a real artist on that tractor and haybine. And I don't think there is another possible view you could have gotten with your camera. Totally entertaining. The calf birth was an extra bonus. Thanks loads.
Something very satisfying about mowing grass for hay. Being on a tractor in the outdoors doing field work for the first time of the season and the smells of the fresh cut grass drying in the sun into hay. Heaven on Earth
That they’re ending of you two sitting there on the bench was something else. That looks like a whole bunch of love in those little giggles. 🤭 with just a sprinkle of orneriness. I sure love the drone shots
I learn to mow with a Farmall 350 and a pulled behind sickle bar mower. My dad would make the first lap around the field. And the he was off to plant corn and I mowed. He never let me plant corn as my rows were never straight enough to suit him. My last lap was always the hardest as it was mowing next to the fence row in the opposite direction. I was always having trouble plugging the bar with already cut hay or clipping a fence post. LOL. Lots of hay memories.
Lol...I pour myself a mug of tea and fold 3 loads of laundry while Pete mows. It's relaxing & productive.
I could sit and watch you mow hay all day. it brings back memories of when I did the same thing about 50 years ago. and the funny thing is it was with an old (but not old at the time) Farmall MD. and a baler of similiar vintage fact probably a lot older than yours is now!. I could almost smell the cut grass watching this. every time I mow my lawn now it brings me back to that time. at 81 I do'n't make hay anymore just memories! thanks for sharing and letting me live Vicariously thru you Pete. God Speed. ECF
I can smell the newly cut grass here in Australia. Mmmmmm wonderful.
Always enjoyed alfalfa falling over the sickle bar. Thank you Pete.
Pete, I so appreciate your willingness to give us videos that show so many perspectives. The drone footage. The close and personal footage. The dandelion footage. It's all fab!
Looks like the road got some new asphalt.
For a city dweller, it's great to take a retreat to the country to watch and listen to an aspect of farming. Thanks!
I’m glad it’s hay season again. I just love watching the haybine, then the tedder, then baling.
A couple of weeks ago we were traveling a scenic by-way in north central Kansas and a few people had already put down a first cutting of hay. I pointed that out to my wife…..she wasn’t amused.😂
In Nebraska are hay is pretty much ready to go we’re using a John Deere 4240 and a New Idea side swathe to cut it and a 1942 Farmall H with a New Holland side delivery hay rake. Really enjoy your videos Pete.
I can smell the fresh cut hay in my mind. Nothing better than that pure fragrance.
I love watching you haying with or without commentary. Thank you
Best television right here! Thank you for the work you and Hilary put into making these videos that bring peace and joy to your viewers.
Love how the cutting of grass cleans up the tractor tyres making them look like new. Hope the finger is ok.
That engine just hums along! Soothing with no misses.
Oh, Pete! I really LOVE when you take us for a ride on the tractor. Thank you. Thank you so much. Congratulations on the new calf. He's a beauty!
I love the “purr” of that Deutschland Diesel.
The metronomic sound of that German diesel whirring just made me nod off. Of course being 64 and after midnight certainly aided in the nodding off. That diesel is an engineering achievement.
Music for the ears. And I can smell that grass even online and across Atlantic ocean.
Fairytale for farmers!
🇭🇷🍻🤠🇺🇸
Strange you should say you could smell the grass ...me too. Best wishes from England UK 🇬🇧
Sing a birth of an animal is so cute I don't know why people judge, if people judge they have something with their own life so that they have to work on.
Nicely edited with lots of vantage points to keep things interesting. The long shot from the drone shows just how beautiful the paddocks are laid out. Very green and juicy. 😀
When I used to travel to VT I would stop on the side of the road and watch them hay the fields. There's just something about it that's very relaxing
After watching the video I read the comments. I appreciate that you actually take the time to read them and reply. Great videos. Keep up the good work y'all.👍
The sound of that engine gives me goose bumps. That engine is just begging to be put under a load! When it is under load, it is the sweetest sound around. Good day in the field!
Sounds of sweet harmony....
Such a great shot, under the tractor to the gorgeous sky.I love clouds and you have some doozies there today.❤❤
That is one sweet running tractor. Thanks Pete and company.
Thank you for the video today. It brought back a lot of great memories of my late dad and me at this time of year. The sounds and smells never really fade.
Thanks Pete, came home from the office, enjoyed a nice warm tea and watched Pete do Pete things. I realize why I'm into your channel, it's a lifestyle, just as wholesome as one can get. Hillary is a sweetheart. Keep up the great work. Greetings from Nova Scotia Canada.
Best time of year by far
My family has been watching you cut hay for years and it never gets old. It’s personally something I look forward to seeing each year. Keep doing what you do Pete😊 Thank you for sharing.
Always great content Pete 👍
I love the different views from the camera and drone. Thanks great video!!
Thank you Pete,
This brings back memories of when I would go up to Maine in June and help my uncle with haying on his 100 head dairy farm. Something I will never forget. I sure do miss those days.
Always enjoy the "What's for Dinner" segment. It's inspired me to do more grilling and the roasts are tasting great. Thanks Pete!
Congratulations on Coco's new calf! Beautiful hay you are cutting!
great video today with cocco's calf being born and cutting first hay!
As a teenager in the 70s I used a John Deere #5 mower and a Case steel wheel rake. Got an announcement for my 45th year class reunion and I'm still using the same mower and rake!
@@danjosephson6910 thanks for sharing!
I am about to purchase a small 50 acre farm just east of my city. The city just doesn't do it for me. At 38, I feel like I found my calling. Hopefully I have lots of sunrises and sunsets to look into. You gave me the power and confidence to do this Pete, and I will never be able to explain how much that means to me. Thank you Pete.
Seeing you Mow, Tedd, Rake, Bale and even pick up/load the bales is some of my favorite content. I could watch it four hours. Keep these type of vids coming this summer!
Realy love the videoes as always. Kalms me down and reminds me to top and take breath of fresh air in. I do envy the life style :)
Married 8 beautiful yrs today... i love watching your videos first thing in the morning with my cup of jo
Hi Pete, hi Hilary. Congratulations on the new calf. Fresh cut hay always smells so good. Have a blessed week.
I love the hay time of the year! Go get after it!
Love the sound of machinery.
Brings back memories of cutting hay. Notice the one side of field had a section that may be growing to bush. Always a fight to keep a field clean. Enjoyed just watching the first cut if the year. Way agead of time. Years ago no one did anything before Memorial Day.
Having worked on complicated machinery for many years I appreciate the depth of knowledge you have for these machines, Pete. And you’re so right, the sound of that diesel is like sweet music. So satisfying!!
This channel is a little jewel in a sea of questionable content. Thank you so much for sharing this ❤❤.
Watching the cut hay fall over the back of the mower reminds me of a waterfall it’s very fluid and the green is so very bright.
Another great video. Thanks for providing therapeutic peace for us that really need it!
The overhead drone shots are amazing. Nice video. You always seem to find new ways to display your work and your farm.
Thanks, Pete! I love these hay making videos!
What beautiful music. Not that I don’t like your insight and explanation of what you are doing, I miss the days of sitting in a tractor seat mowing hay on my family farm. Thank you so much for the opportunity to sit in that seat again. Even if it was just a short time!!!
Been there done that miss it and my horsesbeen retired since 98 rather farm than work in factoty 81 today my horses are gone and my days of fasrming are over not much time left on this beautiful earth, You bring back some good old days thank you and your farm and the new cafe.
Great video shots !! Very cool
Don't care what others think but I enjoy your "yakin" as well as all the rest. Thank you!
Particularly enjoy the interspersing of the different drone shot angles with the “on-the-tractor” segments. I could almost smell the fresh cut hay…👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks, Pete! I love it how you know exactly when to pivot the haybine down into the uncut area... and of course, the "THRUM THRUM THRUM" of that diesel! Gotta love it!
I just love watching Pete working his farm, with the older equipment. So peaceful, and relaxing. Just watching Pete, and Hillary show the love they have for each other, is so special, very easy to see how much they love life, and each other.
You present your work with such passion and happiness that anyone would feel happy watching you work, such love for work is unheard of and then you've been blessed with the best wife there could be..
Be blessed 👼🏻 and happy.
Great editing, Pete. I enjoyed all the different angles of your mowing.
Also, happy Coco's calf was a live birth. 😊
First time commenting anywhere on you tube. Avid fan for many years of Pete and Hilary. This video was awesome! Love the Springtime on Just a Few acres. Keep them coming Pete, you’re the best. Thank you from the UK
Oh dont you love watching old machinery in action??👏👏
Perfect video to watch before bed!! Nothing like nice mowing . . .
I love the quiet fly over shots. But with an attack drone? Oh no!
